Comfort Hotel Gardenia Sorrento Coast  

This hotel is rated as a 3 star hotel but should have a 4 star rating for their hospitality and friendliness. Maglia was particularly helpful on reception in finding out information we needed for day trips and onward transfers.Breakfast is varied and plentiful and served in a relatively small dining room allowing for a friendly atmosphere. Lunch and light snacks are served on the terrace. Dinner is not provided but there are many restaurants along the 10-15 minute walk towards the Piazza Tasso ( a central square) where there are also many fine open air restaurants in a buzzing atmosphere. The hotel also has a bar serving drinks including tea and coffee until late which is a nice way to finish off the day. The pool used by residents of this hotel is owned by the neighbouring hotel but there are plenty of sunloungers always available by the pool side and there is also an area adjacent to the pool with lots of sunloungers and parasols, ideal sunbathing location for those who want a quieter location for sunbathing. Our room had a sea view balcony which I would highly recommend as the view was lovely. The hotel provides towels for use at the swimming pool at a charge of €3 per week which is great if you dont want the bother of bringing towels and another helpful facility provided is the use of the in-room mini bar which can be emptied on request and hired out as a fridge for personal use at a charge of 3 euro per day. I would highly recommend this hotel for its location, price and hospitality.

Very clean, modern and comfortable. Good location on the outskirts of sorrento, but need pool/sea view room (which the hotel allocated to us without us requesting it - so many thanks) as you will not be able to sit on your balcony due to the noise of the traffic at the front of the hotel. Great hotel otherwise and nice pool

Very clean; staff friendly; great view from sea-side facing rooms. Full breakfast with wide variety of hot foods, cold foods, fresh pastries and fruit. Pool is well maintained. Wonderful city and area; lots to see and do.

significant walking distance to city's lively core. Located on main street, quite noisy with motorbikes/scooters at all hours (choose a back room with a better view, too)

The room was the smallest quadruple room in all of Europe. The rooms shown on the hotel side did not show that the room had bunk beds. Therefore, it was a surprise for a small town where the real estate is vey cheap. The top bunk bed had a crack and my daughter felt scared to sleep on it. Therefore, we had to share the bed with our teenage daughter. The room was facing the road with traffic passing by until 3 am. We hardly had any rest.

Quite good location relative to the old city and railway station (10 minutes walk to either) although on a busy main road. Friendly staff who were always available when needed.

The room, breakfast & pool area are lovely. A great place to relax after all the wonderful sight seeing that is available in the area.

I think that the walk into the main part of Sorrento is longer than advertised and in many parts there are no pavements and it is a very busy road to walk along.

The staff were really friendly and very helpful, we felt very welcome. The breakfast was great and the room good - the kids loved the tv, the pool was super. The safe and the fridge (there was a spare shelf where we could keep things cool) were an added bonus. We had a great time.

We had a room overlooking the road which meant we didn't sit out on the lovely balcony due to traffic noise. It was also about a 15 min walk into Sorrenta along the noisy road. However we also stayed in another hotel in Sorrento for a similar price and this was 5* in comparison.

The breakfast was excellent!

One of the reception staff was quite surly with our daughters and myself but fine with my husband! The towels were poor quality.

The Hotel staff were always friendly and helpful.The hotel was very clean and the breakfast was very good.also room was clean and bright.

The double bed was two twins , I don't much like the feel of sleeping with the join in the middle!!!
