Hotel Gargallo  

Good location attentive staff reserved car parking space

Friendly staff, nice breakfast, air conditioner in room and location in old city. The public parking (which was free in the night when stayed, but seemed 1 Euro/night normally) was about 6 minutes on foot from the hotel. Not bad.

No sofa table in the triple room to use for playing cards or eating snack with wine. Room was too cold in winter, although air conditioner worked very hard.

My husband and I stayed 2 days at this little gem stone in Ortiga. We could not find fault with anything at all. Be aware it is definitely not a luxury hotel. But if you want to be part of the Sicilian atmosphere with an extremely friendly and helpful staff then this is the place to stay. The building is in a typically narrow street, beautifully restored and well kept. The rooms are comfortable, the breakfast is buffet. No matter what kind of help we needed the young ladies at reception instantly solved our problem. Ortiga is very small. You can find all sorts of shops and very good restaurants within a short walking distance.

We spent 2 nights at Gargallo. The staff were very friendly and went out of their way to be helpful including insuring the one reserved parking spot on an adjacent street was reserved for us. The location is great, on a quiet street in the centre of Ortigia and close to all the amenities. Our room was large, clean and nicely furnished. The bathroom was also a good size and while not updated, it was adequate. Breakfast selection was good although not extensive, perhaps because there were few of us in the hotel in November.

Fantastically located hotel in the heart of Ortigia island, near the beautiful Jewish quarter. Staff were very friendly and helpful.

Breakfast was a little limited for choice, and machine coffee in Italy was a bit of a disappointment!

All staffs were very friendly, and her recommendation of restaurant was excellent ! Room is new and clean. Close to center of town. Good atmosphere in old town.

No lift, ventilation of bath room is not very good, reception not available all the time. but these are small issues.

Very nice boutique hotel,staff willing to help,very clean,excellent location very close to the heart of the city.excellent for a city break or for a summer holiday spent in siracusa.If I were to return to siracusa,i would definitely stay at gargallo again.

The service from both of the ladies at the front desk was excellent. One even ordered a pizza for us and went to pick us up. She also gave us a ride to the car. The room was great for a couple with two small kids. There was a double bed plus two pull out sofa beds. The location is very central and car parking was cheap. Breakfast was good but didn;t start until 0800 hrs.

A bit difficult to find and the shower head was not fixed to the pole - a common occurence in B&Bs in Italy.

A parte la colazione non proprio da favola ma comunque sufficiente, l'Hotel è ubicato nel cuore dell'Ortigia e praticamente si alloggia in mezzo ad un museo a cielo aperto fra I palazzi barocchi, location molto romantica.

Piccolo graziosissimo albergo nel cuore di Ortigia.Comodissimo e confortevole,stanze ben arredate e pulitissime. Ottima qualità prezzo.Da sottolineare,in particolar modo, la squisita disponibilità,gentilezza e simpatia di Simona e di tutto lo staff.Senz'altro da consigliare.

Posizione ideale per visitare e vivere l'isola di Ortigia.Personale molto gentile e disponibile.Tutto molto bene, decisamente da consigliare! Arrivando è importante ricordare che trovandosi l'albergo in zona a traffico limitato è molto facile e comodo lasciare l'auto al vicino parcheggio pubblico coperto Talete davanti al quale si trova un regolare servizio navetta gratuito.
