Location. Situated within walking distance of most of the area covered by the Big Red Bus Tours. However, if you wanted the tours the bus stop was immediately outside the hotel. So too was the bus to the airport being 2 minutes across the square. Rooms are big [very high ceilings] and airy. Pleasent reception and modern bar area. Breakfast was adequate for those on a short stay break. The wonderful Italian cake selection is all there for the temptation of those not on a diet.

Entance steps down with suitcases is rather awkward. The noise in rooms at the front on the lower floor [rooms above reception] was bad into the early hours of the morning with people at the bus stop. The selection of tea/ coffee in the rooms was very minimal if any at all. There was no coffee and when we asked for tea from the cleaner we were told 'domani' which is not very good if leaving the next morning. The coffee in the breakfast room was diabolical and cold - even though we were first guests in there at 7am.

Good location & comfortable bed

Scruffy room - had to get staff to clean bathroom before we could use it. Horrible coffee for breakfast & no butter, the waiter suggested Italians don't use butter so they hadn't ordered any - strange really at the hotel was also being used by non-italians. Wi -fi was hopeless even in the designated lobby area.

Location was central for most tourist points to visit. Ideal having the Big Red Tour Bus immediately outside plus the airport bus a couple of minutes walk across the road.

Rooms at the front on floor 0 were very noisy. Coffee at breakfast was awful and cold (even though we were first guests in at 7am).

Considering the hotel advertises its close proximity to the airport bus service,I would have thought breakfast should commence prior to 7am. We had a most unfortunate incident when we asked if we might have something to eat/ drink at 6.30am as we had an early flight. We requested this at 6pm the night before our departure and were informed we should be able to have coffee and a cake if we reported to reception at 6.30am. This we did , but were informed that the chef was too busy cooking eggs to provide us with anything!. We protested that we had been informed the night before that this should be possible, but reception were unable to persuade the kitchen staff to provide anything. We would not recommend this hotel. There are many hotels in a similar price range in Palermo that are far superior. Also please note that the public areas are largely in a basement and very claustrophobic.

Very helpful, friendly & efficient staff. Excellent location for sightseeing & shopping. Lovely rooms, great breakfast choices. Would highly recommend. Also has secure parking.

Expected a lot more from what was claimed one of the better palermo hotels especially after reading the recommendations. .One claimed best breakfast in Italy, after first day we went out to Spinnatos around the corner for breakfast

The location and the quality of the rooms were good and the parking facility was useful in the centre of a city. Good price/quality relation.

The staff varied but generally satisfactory.. Italian style, not particularly interested in tourists.

great location right opposite on of Palermo's most glorious buildings - the Teatro Politiama. a clean hotel, a very generous breakfast, polite and keen staff.

i was disappointed that there was no gym (it was listed as having one), and it's a small thing, but the wi-fi is a bit rubbish. who wants to go and sit in the lobby to send an email? not for this price, i don't.

The hotel is in a fabulous location-- right in the city center close to everything (restaurants, shopping and tourist sites). It's a perfectly fine hotel and a great value for the location and quality. They also had parking in back, which was terrific. I would definitely stay there again.

Location very convenient for going to the airport, getting the city buses, and dining out. A good neighborhood. Staff was usually friendly and helpful. Room was plenty roomy. The popular, delicious, and stylish cafe-bar Bristol is five-ten mins walk down the hotel street.

The hotel name is not easy to read from the street. The breakfast had plenty of different sweet cakes and pastries, but not enough choices for hot and healthy and tasty foods, and no fresh vegetables. But you can order delicious cappuccino...

This was our second stay at the Hotel Garibaldi, as we enjoyed our first visit so much. The hotel is in an excellent location for sight-seeing and visiting Palermo. The reception staff are very friendly and helpful. Room quality is very good: airy and modern room, comfortable bed, spacious and well-equipped bathroom. Plenty of variety at breakfast. A nice place to stay

If only the bar would open! I wrote this last year, and I'm still hoping!

Absolutely everything! The position of this hotel is the best for visiting Palermo. The hotel is very comfortable. The fittings are first class. The linen is beautiful. I always try and stay in rooms 216,316 or 414 as they look out onto the Politeama Piazza.There are some great bars near by and wonderful shops along the Via Libertad. A wonderful hotel with excellent facilities and lovely staff.

I keep coming back so there is nothing to dislike about this hotel. The staff are professional and very friendly. They make the guest very welcome.

Not much beyond location.

Unfriendly unhelpful staff. Charge for poor quality WI-FI: not good enough for a 4 star hotel. When it didn't work staff shrugged their shoulders and were distinctly unhelpful

Staff were more than helpful. Rooms were nice and spacious. Perfect location in the centre of the city.
