Good location, close to underground, Vatican etc. Everything worked in the room and was in relatively good condition, such as aircondition, WIFI etc. (a rare occurrence!), even though the hotel is clearly not new. Breakfast average, orange juice better than the usual hotel quality, good coffee. Breakfast room in the cellar, with practically no natural light. Too much sweets for breakfast (as usual in Italy).

The location of the hotel is perfect - about 80 meters from Lepanto metro station. Near to the Vatican and Castle St. Angelo (10 min. Walk). The neighborhood is quiet and safe. The hotel and the rooms are very clean, modern furnitured, the bathroom is also clean and normal sized, the staff is kind and helpful. We arrived earlier then 1 P.M. when the check in starts, but they give us our room to get rest:) The breakfast is good enought. Our room has a nice sunny terrace, but there is also a bigger terrace with chairs and sunbeds for all guests at the 4-th floor. The hotel's elevator is interesting old fashion one, but in perfect condition - so don't worry, just close the doors every time when you get out;) For sure we will get this hotel again when visit Rome. Truly recommend it to everyone!

Hotel Gerber is a family-owned hotel and it's reflected in the warmth of its staff. Price includes a very decent breakfast buffet too. The hotel boasts a rooftop deck as well as a quiet patio where one can sit with a drink and make notes at the end of the day. The Hotel is located 1 blk from Lepanto Metro in a wonderful neighbourhood with shops and restaurants - easy walking distance to the Vatican. Nothing - will definitely return!

The location was perfect - 2' walk to the Lepanto metro station and 15' walk to the Vatican. The hotel is old but clean. The night receptionist could be more friendly/ helpful No soap for hand washing in the shared bathroom No safe in the single room with shared bathroom

Very good location, extremely clean, all staff with one exception were friendly and did their best to make your stay pleasant. All areas of hotel decorated well, bedrooms were fantastic all u needed and clean and spacious. beds so comfy and linen nice quality. Breakfast good continental selection and always freshly topped up when running low. Added bonus of the two terraces to sit out on. The mirrors were not placed near plug sockets so could not do hair other than the bathroom that got hot. Tea and coffee making would be nice in room. But that's not a problem more extra . The lift was old and felt unsafe, even though it worked at all times without problems, but if someone did not close doors properly it would not,

Very friendly, clean, modern and well run hotel just beside the metro stop at Lepanto. Great value for me and my son to use as a base whilst visiting Rome for a few days sight seeing. Highly recommended. Nothing to complain about. Well suited for tourists looking for a base.

Location: just around the corner from Lepanto metro station, good restaurants nearby. The room was cleaned everyday. Breakfast was basic but ok. Silent neighborhood. You had to close the interior doors of the elevator on the way out otherwise it did not function. After 30' since we've arrived in our room and we were about to fall asleep we got a call from the reception desk asking us to check if the doors of the elevator were closed. Very unpleasant.

The room I was in was just above the generator of the Japanese restaurant downstairs, near the road. It was toooo noisy that I couldn't sleep for whole 2 nights which ruined my vacation in Rome. When I asked at the reception to move me to another room (which was vacant) for only the last night so I can have a rest, they refused in a very impolite way. My friends are going to visit Rome in December and Gerber is definitely not a hotel that I would recommend for them.

Excellent location close to the Vatican. Convenient for public transport to most locations (Metro very close). Congenial, friendly and helpful staff. Breakfast. Although the buffet breakfast was adequate, the selection was exactly the same every day ... cold and uninspired. I would have thought that at least one hot option, scrambled or soft boiled eggs perhaps, would have been available, considering the room rate.

Very welcoming and helpful staff, the location was very handy, just a short walk from the metro Lepanto and a 20 minute reasonable paced walk from the old centre of Rome. Felt like a safe and quiet area. Enjoyed the breakfast, friendly and pleasant waiter.

On our trip to Italy, we stayed in Rome elsewhere for two days, then went to Milano and stayed a night, then went to Venice and stayed a night , then we went to Rome for 3 days to finish our Rome experience. We found Hotel Gerber wonderfully close to the Metro which made going anywhere we wanted to with the Roma Pass. It was close so we didn't have to hire a taxi, or take a bus with our luggage. The neighborhood is good and we were surprised at the beautifully green area that surrounds the Hotel. We met the owner at the morning breakfast and talked with him and all the staff at the hotel were very good. They spoke English so we didn't have a hard time communicating. They were very helpful with the smallest things like our constant desire to get ICE. We stayed on the fourth floor and it had a terrace which we could look around and sit and just relax after a busy day pounding the pavement looking at the sights. There is also a Patio on the main floor which also has a relaxing atomosphere surrounding it also. If we were to travel to Rome again , we would certainly look to Gerber to stay again. We got the Hotel recomendation from a book by Rick Steves. (He does a travel show on our Public Broadcast Network) I would recommend this hotel to anyone that would be interested in visiting Rome.

Location very near the Metro, walking distance from many shopping and restaurant locations. Great staff, very good breakfast (included in rate). Comfortable room. In-room WiFi with good access. Elevator is a challenge, and was broken one evening during our stay.

For the poor quality of the accommodation offered, the breakfast was surprisingly good. The hotel was pretty awful. I had booked a single room for one night stay and the size of the room was unbelievably small!!! It was 3 steps distance from wall to wall. During the night the room was pretty cold, there was no blanket available and the heating of the A/C was not working.
