This apartment was very well equipped, spacious and in an excellent location
There was quite a lot of noise from the street at night when trying to sleep and from the adjoining apartment when in the lounge room area.
As listed, there is not a lift so if steps are a problem, then this is definitely NOT the apartment for you. Location is wonderful since it is a 5 min walk to the Duomo. There is ample living space with 2 couches and a large table. Kitchen is the typical compact European kitchen. We didn't cook so I can't rate teh kitchen supplies. A bottle of wine was provided on arrival and the agent was kind enough to carry one large piece of luggage for us. There are ample lights and power outlets and the internet works well. Bathrooms are a large size with one jacuzzi and one shower. Heat is regulated on timers. Bedroom 1 is large with a door. Bedroom two is smaller without a door and has a skylight which unfortunately had a broken shade so that room had strong light as soon as daylight appeared. WiFi was great.
Negatives... The hallway was very dark with the lights at the lower staircases not working. Washing machine door would not close properly so we were unable to do wash. Also, the motorized shade in Bedroom 2 did not operate. I agree that I didn't expect to take out my garbage. I do think this should be part of the housekeeping services. Also, there is a 10 page contract which is the most detailed that I have seen for a short term rental. The deposit was to be a hold of 300 E on credit card until checkout but the agent told me that this would be for 20 days. However, this was not the case. Also, ask for detailed instructions. Google took us to Pecori but the numbers are confusing.
An ageing apartment with poor housekeeping. The shocking thing was they insisted you take out your garbage bags to a garbage dump a couple of streets away. They even emailed me a map of the dump location and took a security deposit of €150 to ensure compliance. That basically ensured I'll never return. None of the other 5 apartments I stayed at in Italy required me to do that. I told them this was the job of a housekeeper not a guest. It should be enough that we keep the apartment clean and dispose of waste neatly into the bins provided IN the apartment. Can you imagine lugging around a smelly garbage bag in the streets of Florence looking for the dump? Lol. Not for the price of rental charged. 150+€ per night
Lots of good and helpful instructions for checking in and out. The kitchen was well equipped.
Very noisy in the night in spite of new windows. The bedrooms are not as nice as shown on the internet pictures. The "living area" is odd, as it's not a sitting room, but rather basically the hallway divided into two sections by a glass door and fitted with a sofa and wall unit on one side and some chairs and a desk against the wall on the other side. The lighting is very dim in all the rooms, especially the "living area."
No one came to clean the apartment. May be someone came when we were out .. But it was ok to enter the apartment.
Good size kitchen/bathroom & bedrooms. Close to attractions & supermarket. Air conditioner good & hot water plenty.
View was beautiful. Nice kitchen and bathrooms. Spacious and comfortable.
Mosquitos problem with no screens on windows or doors. Could not close the windows fully or use the terrace due to mosquito attack. Could not reach Apartments Florence by phone using our US cell phone. Phone number either did not work, or they spoke no English. Luckily we emailed to inform them we had arrived.
Excellent bedroom sirs and great view of the Duomo from the window. Location in the centro storico great, close to the Mercator centralem, excellent local supermarket. Restaurant .
Poor kitchen facilities, no toaster , jug, bread knife, no second fan in bedroom, very necessary to shift the fan every night. Bed too soft .
2 bedrooms, 2 bath, great living area and its own terrace. Close to transportation, attractions and great food.
Needs a little maintenance repairs. Faucet in one bath is loose, a small leak in the other. Microwave doesn't work and portable fans need replaced.
Our apartment was in the oldest part of Florence, around the corner from Dante's House, so all the main tourist sights were easily walkable. There was a small family run restaurant just outside our front door that did decent pizzas at a good price and staff were really friendly. The apartment was really well furnished (other than with fans!), including a dishwasher and washing machine. It also had a good selection of kitchenware. Good WiFi reception. We made our way to the apartment and a staff member met us there and showed us round, explaining things and giving us a map, which was very useful. we could also sort out all the paperwork and payment there and then.
We were only provided with 1 fan (no air con, though we did know that) for 5 of us in a 2 bed apartment; just not enough! Francesco did source some others but only on the day before we left. We knew it was on the 3rd floor but it was 83 steps! Not good for bad knees! Didn't like the fact that we had to get rid of the rubbish ourselves by walking several street to dispose of it. As it tuned out, the bins we were told to use were closed and we couldn't find the alternative so had to leave rubbish at the apartment. A very noisy bar around the corner from us kept us awake till quite late.
location, staff, apartment (overall)
9 flights of stairs with heavy luggage (that we did not know about; plus one more inside the flat as an extra "surprise". Air-con shorting out a few times (although easy to deal with)
Great location, easy accessibility, clean apartment and linen. Everything we needed for our family was provided. Helpful staff. Really enjoyed our stay here
Great location, nicely furnished, and good decoration. Very good price to quality.
Great spot, right in the middle of everything. Short walk from the train station, and all of the sites. Nice big rooms with plenty of room to spread out for the kids.
The staff person who gave us the keys was so helpful. He stayed for about 20 minutes giving us all the details about the apartment and Florence, too. He helped carry our luggage up. Very personable
The 94 steps to get to the room was somewhat annoying with luggage, but well worth the view.
Very big apartment, well-equipped and in a fantastic location.
We stayed at the apartment in Piazza San Martino and it was difficult for us to lug our luggage up and down the flights of stairs. We knew the apartment was elevated with no lift but stairs were harder than expected.
The place was nice, but not worth the hassle after.
1. The staff was unreachable in an emergency and it resulted in them wrongfully taking our security deposit. See below for more details. 2. 4 flights of stairs - think of that with your luggage and after long day of sight seeing. 3.They would not contact a taxi service for us. #1 more details, so you can judge for yourself. We did laundry the day before we had a flight. The washing machine door would not open (all my clothes for trip inside). We tried to ask for help by calling the 3 telephone numbers we were given, including an emergency line, and 2 email addresses. We tried both at night and in the morning. We had to catch our train and flight, so we had no choice but to pry open the handle. (I do not consider this an emergency per se, but there was no one else to call, and it is scary to think of traveling abroad and not being able to reach them for an emergency requiring hospital or something). In my opinion, not being able to reach service staff is inexcusable. Moreover, their response to the situation afterwards is even worse. We did not hear back for days. When Silvia finally emailed us back, it was not to apologize, but to let us know they would be keeping our security deposit to pay for broken machine. I explained that it was already broken, which is why we had been calling. She never apologized for being unreachable, or for the broken machine, and still took the deposit. They took no responsibility for what happened. Now we will be disputing the charge with our credit card company.
Great location and very comfortable apartment for a family of 5.
Just a little noisy.
Apartment was very comfortable and centrally located. We walked everywhere and had some nice eateries and central markets close by. Bed was very comfortable. Complementary wine was a nice touch.
No shower screen in the bath so a little difficult for my elderly mother. A couple of lights were not working. Nice if it had a few basic groceries like oil, salt and pepper etc
Spacious and quiet.
10 to 20 minute walk to duomo or Uffizi.
The apartment was really comfortable and great view from the balcony.
There is no lift so going up 5 flights of stairs with luggage is no fun.
It is closer to Central.
There is no lift and the flat is 3rd floor.
Rooms were spacious and comfy. Nice furniture and rooms
Wifi was subpar. But that's it.
