Hotel Ghironi    

The hotel was lovely; the staff could not do enough to help make your time in La Spezia better. They led us through our trip to Cinque Terre and provided free shuttles. I highly recommend this hotel and certainly the price is right.

Service, Cleanliness, Staff etc.

Friendly staff, very helpfull, large clean room with large bathroom. Good supply of hot water and good water pressure. Bright. Enough parking, good breakfast included. Our room quiet even though hotel on busy street.

Not much atmosphere. Location in port district, away from town centre. We had car so no problem but long walk into town. No restaurants nearby so car or shuttle required. Hotel has shuttle but hard to schedule sometimes. Some staff had very limited English so some restaurant bookings hard to communicate.

It was in La Spezia and was close to the Entrance to the Autostrada on our departure.

Our room had a very distinct aroma as if five people had smoked a carton of cigarettes a piece within the room with all of the doors and windows shut. In addition, the door was very non-secure, had no lock beside the simple latch, and no bolt and was about half an inch thick. The breakfast buffet was ok, but the eggs were oddly runny and greasy and meat was literally full of cartilage and bone pieces. The shuttle to the train station was only once a day, despite the advertisement, and the train station is walkable from the hotel in maybe two hours. The hotel is in the industrial area of La Spezia.

We liked the hotel shuttle to the train station and the staff was very helpful and friendly.

The beds were very uncomfortable. Too few pillows also.

The shuttle bus & helpfulness of driver. Also the reception staff were excellent in keeping my birthday cards that arrived from Australia & went to great effort to email me afterwards to tell me that flowers had arrived from Australia after I left. Then they kindly emailed me a photo of the flowers so at least I could see what they were like. Well done!

The traffic noise at night

Fairground opposite was very noisy No restaurant Breakfast meant to start at 7, but very little there Room was cold and not very inviting, old fashioned Had to pay for internet

The staff were very friendly and helpful. The hotel had a computer we could use for free internet. Free parking. Very clean and tidy, breakfast was good.

The distance from the town and train station, there were no shops or restaurants nearby. The shuttle bus only had 4 seats and was inadequate. Wireless internet had a small fee.

The Ghironi was an excellent hotel and we have no major complaints

I love the staff particularly Emma. I loved the breakfast.

Location is fine, but scheduling the shuttle was a bit tough if you were not quite sure of your schedule.

Even though the location is off the beaten path the staff were knowledgeable about buses and trains and schedules. It was also extremely helpful that they ran a free shuttle to the ferries and the train station .The breakfast was substantial and varied. The rooms were clean and comfortable although noisy - as in noise from the outside the hotel until late. Even though located where traffic noise was minimal, there were people in the parking lot talking and smoking way past midnight. If you book here just be prepared for the location. Able to day trip to Cinque Terre and also to Lucca from this hotel but it is a port location.

Convinient position

Lack of facilities to make a hot drink in the room especially as we stayed 7 nights.

Close to cinque terre and very good online reviews. Also free parking...and shuttle service..breakfast included.

It was very comfortable and friendly

We were only there a day so it's hard to say anything negative.

Location and shuttle bus plus friendly helpful staff.

When we went for breakfast on the second day their was virtually nothing left and this was about 30 minutes before it closed.

The hotel is tired and could do with a refurbishment. It is located by the container prot.

We picked this hotel for the shuttle service.Need to know that this is not an as needed service but scheduled times which might not coincide with your train schedule.We were scheduled on the 18:15 shuttle for return from Cinque Terre but returned early due to illness & did not know that shuttle would not come early.Hotel is quite far from La Spezzia centre so taxi would be expensive.

It was very comfortable. The staff was very helpful in information about Cinque Terre. The shuttle services is really great to getting to the train from which you can arrive at Cinque Terre and then get back.

It is located in La Spezia which is seemed like a grey industrial city.
