The friendliness of the staff, the cleanliness, comfort and design of the rooms and the location. No tea/coffee facilities in the room and breakfast was served in a very small room which could not cater for the number of people staying in the rooms. This could be easily addressed if they changed the design of the tables and layout.

It was a really great hotel. The room was absolutely spotless, very pretty and had unique features that made it fun to stay in. The hotel had a very romantic feel to it. The breakfast was wonderful and the staff were very attentive. I would recommend this hotel to all and stay there again myself. Absolutely nothing!!

We loved the exclusivity and the attention to detail. The hotel was amazing! The staff were friendly and informative, they have us great tips on where to eat and drink. Our rooms were beautiful. The lounge/bar area was small but everything was catered for. Location was, just a few steps off the Piazza Navona, and within walking distance to all the local attractions. hotel was great would definitely recommend. No bad points, there was nothing we didn't like.

The location of the hotel is perfect, it's very small and cozy, rooms also very nice and not small. Besides the hotel has a very small dining room, where you could drink tea or different beverages during the day. I'm not really sure, that the stuff is professional - when we are check out in the early morning, they asked us to show the bill, which we paid the previous evening, but didn't help us with luggage and not even offered to call a taxy. Moreover, I think it'll be better to know: the hotel located in the pedestrian area and there are nobody, who could open the door after 8 p.m.

The location was fantastic and the staff were helpful and courteous. The room was adequate although rather expensive, however I understand that these are the prices in Rome.

The location was outstanding and the area perfect for a visit to Rome. Our room was called the Gigli D'Oro suite (just like the hotel). It had a large part under the roof and the pitch of the roof made access to many parts (closet, mini-bar etc) very uncomfortable. Also the room had practically only 1 small window in the bath room looking out to the neighbor's roof while the rest of the room had no accessible window to provide a view or proper sunlight.

The hotel captures the feeling of a high-end boutique place (each room has a name, the building is beautiful, small and tucked away) without being overdone in design -- the rooms are well laid out, VERY spacious for a middle-of-the-city location, and yet our young children were warmly welcomed. The bathrooms were particularly nice, with heated floors and rain showers! Located just north of Navona gives tourists a great central location while not being on a major thoroughfare. The one thing to note is that there is no staff overnight and into the "early" morning, though there is supposedly a night porter. This can add some stress -- we arranged an airport transfer with the hotel for 7AM and so were waiting, by ourselves, for the van to arrive. Thankfully everything went off without a hitch but it's worth being aware of. Also, noise in such a small place can be significant - there is a tiny elevator with a sign that says "do not use at night" because of the noise it makes throughout the building... and our upstairs neighbors didn't pay attention to that sign at 1AM.

Where do I begin? My husband and I were in Italy for ten days of which we were in Rome for the first part of our holidays. We both love very modern unique surroundings and have always tried to find and prefer to book smaller boutique luxury type hotels rather than larger or chain hotels. I found Gigli D'oro and did some research. Location was extremely important to us as we wanted to make sure that we could leave our hotel and walk to a Piazza if we wanted too grab something to eat or go for a romantic stroll...well this is perfectly situated close to Piazza Navona as well as not to far from Spanish Steps. The hotel was about a 20 minute ride from the airport and about a 10 minute drive or less to the train station. Accomodations were amazing as the room had a nice mixture of old world charm with its original wooden beams on the slanted cieling to the very chic low modern bed with surround lighting and all glass enclosed shower with all white fixtures (toilet, bidet and sink). Beautiful wide plank wood floors, great big stone fireplace, beautiful wooden framed window and original slanted stone/wood stairway leading to the rooms.......elevator was suitable for two people only but we hardly ever used it........ Breakfast was in a very quaint room...selection was more quality than variety which is what we prefer anyway...there was a nice selection of freshly baked goods, fresh cappucino or latte, tea, coffee upon request, juices, water, rolls, nutella, jams, assorted cold cuts and cheeses and fresh fruit and yogurt. They were also quick to ask if we preferred eggs and bacon which they would prepare if required. No issues with cleanliness or air conditioning and our room was ready for us even though we arrived earlier. I had notified them via an email from our airport. The hotel even arranged for us to visit the great Outlet shopping of Castel St Angelo for us. All in all a great boutique style hotel....cant wait to go back....loved it!

The feeling of walking in a narrow street - then entering a small door to see a clean, white, fresh and modern hall - guided by nice staff - up to a room that was amazingly nice. A mixture of old and modern Itally. I loved it! The breakfast room was a bit small - but i wasnt really negative - it is just for making a comment in this spot ;)
