The hotel offers the basics like a clean room, a good breakfast and a gym.
The hotel is big and made from different buildings (in a weird way) and it's almost a labyrint if you arrive the first day. It feels like the focus is bus trips with big groups, but not for inidividuals or couples.
We like the theme of this hotel (Jazz)and its decor. Rooms are comfortable, and spacious, equipped with slippers and massage chair, and cd players for jazz music.
The location is a bit hard to find, you definitely need a car and a very good gps.
Loved the roof top pool. Loved the piano floor and great breakfast.
No complaints at all.
Space and facilities (small swimming pool, gym) Free parking at the hotel's premises
Quality of the wifi: despite efforts by the staff (e.g. change of room) we were not able to get a reliable internet connection during our stay Location: 1200 meters walking to the city centre on a quite steep walking path; there is a bus connection, but infrequent (and last return from city at 22:10). Taxi approx. €20 - 30.
Great hotel with great ammenities. The restaurant was delicious.
20 minute uphill climb
Breakfast, location and massage chair in the bedroom.
Too much Jazz theme all over the hotel. Small swimming pool.
I stayed there with my dad for 5 days, and we both loved it. It's clean, the breakfast was good and they offer real coffe free of charge, there is a pool on the 5th floor which is perfect while visiting Perugia in july. The staff is very friendly, and the hotel resturant had a great buffet for lunch, and excellent wine. Would definately come back.
We had some problems with our safetybox, several times. The staff was very helpful though, so it wasn't that bad.
Originally-themed (Jazz, Chocolate & Wine) Quality Breakfast Friendly Staff Nice Rooftop Swimming Pool
Poor Wi-Fi in Rooms
Everything was prefect, nothing to criticise
Should be mentioned that the hotel is not in the center and you need to go up the hill to reach the center
The theme and atmosphere is wonderful which is why this was my third stay.
Upon arriving at the restaurant at 9:30 we were told the restaurant was closed...as they served a special event in another room. I am sorry, but this is NOT good customer service. The restaurant and it's staff was one of the draws to the property. I can say it is not any longer.
The pool was out of order.
Very nice breakfast. Not far to walk to catch the metro into the city, which also does not take very long. We stayed at the Jazz part of the hotel
Close to Perugia, well connected by the MiniMetro only 300m away. Room had a massage chair.
The hotel theme is wine and jazz. The decoration reflects the jazz very clearly. But when we asked for wine tasting, we were told to have a wine at the hotel bar or buy a bottle from the shop. Asking for a wine at the hotel bar we were poured a glass of something red (approx 100ml) and asked for 3 Euro per . Not exactly what I expect from a hotel which prides itself with being a wine hotel. The absolute minimum to expect is to show the bottle of wine or explain the guest what they are drinking. In the evening we had dinner at the hotel restaurant. The price for a plate with grilled vegetables (including 3 porcini mushrooms) was a hefty 16 Euros. During our Tuscany and Umbria trip we have seen much better value for money elsewhere.
Nice breakfast and cozy rooms. Nice location.
Good position near to the extremely efficient light railway which takes you to the top of the hill on which the picturesque old town of Perugia is situated. Good free parking.
Hotel seemed a bit soulless.
There are two part's to this hotel. Booked one got put in the other
proactive personell at the front desk; good price-value at the hotel's restaurant. Huge parking lot and easy access to the MiniMetro.
The theme and all of the amenities that were associated made this the second stay simply because of the theme and amenities.
The bed was very hard and I did not sleep comfortably. The desk chair was missing the wooden seat, so the steel was bare and cold.
Very quite. Helpful staff.
The room in the wine area was too dark.
Spacious room decoratet with winearticles. Clean
Unconfortable chairs and bed. No chairs on balcony. Breakfast below average. Restaurant boring and to expensive. Metro close in the evening - more complicated to get to downtown perugia
Very nice hotel, the staff are there but are there to help us! Perugia is a clean and secure city, with hot and friendly people. So, Perugia is not in Italy!
Staff is OK, great breakfast buffet, the Wifi worked perfect.
Internal logistics aren't perfect, there's two hotels ('Wine' and 'Jazz'), you book one of them but stay in the other. The Wine and Jazz themes are rather artificial, just stick to being a good hotel. And more: it's more of a conference center than a hotel. The swimming pool on the top floor was empty.... what a bummer (attracting people with a 'seasonal' pool). And, the hotel is located outside the city center, which is fine, but it requires a long and (very) steep climb of over half a mile to get into town. Next time it's going to be a centrally located hotel again.
Well appointed rooms, comfortable beds, white sheets, modern bathroom facilities, massive amounts of free secure parking, excellent continental breakfast, courteous staff, all at an economical price make Gio Wine & Jazz a great place to stay in Perugia.
Mini Metro to the city centre is fantastic but unfortunately stops operating at 9.05pm.
Rooftop pool Clean Large rooms Massage chair Jacuzzi
Wifi wasnt working in our rooms Not enough sunloungers
Everything was nice in this hotel. Staff was friendly, the restaurant is definitely worth a visit for lunch/dinner, rooms were cosy and clean, and the rooftop pool was good too. Although it probably is more a hotel for business travellers, it was a very good choice for our family and a perfect starting point to get to move around Perugia and Umbria. Minimetro is great although it stops running by 9pm. However, returning at late evenings from Perugia's historic centre to the hotel was a nice downhill walk (after you find the most convenient route).
Our son was disappointed at the gymnasium. It practically included only treadmills for running because of safety reasons. In the neighborhood there's a big gym and there we learned that exercising in a gym is a very complicated matter in Italy (medical certificate concerning health status is required etc.)
