Hotel Giolli  

The location is good in a very safe area in the very center of Rome. Transportation options are limited to buses though unless you walk for a kilometer or so to reach the underground station.

I wasn't impressed at all with Hotel Giolli. The service was bad, the room was poorly organized and the breakfast buffer was terrible. I was given a room with a toilet made for people with disabilities! On a couple of instances, the housekeeping staff didn't change the towels which were put in the bath tub and simply folded them back into the towel holders! They also didn't empty the waste bins every day! The rooms look nothing like the photos, they're simply bad.

Central location stayed there before in 2008

Central location. You could walk to anyplace including the bus and train station. Clean and cheerful.

It was a bit noisy at night from the adjoining hotel. If you closed the windows, you were okay.

Room was good.

Tour Roma with a private tour leader. Fantastic! Browsed the shops. Excellent dinners and gelato. Surprised that restaurant allowed neighboring diners to light up a smoke in garden dining area after dinner. Appertivo only one evening out of three at hotel. Internet connection and timing was confusing. Hotel Giolli was very enjoyable.

Breakfast was good. Staff friendly. Room was a good size and comfortable.

A better sign to say your reception is located on the first floor. The decoration could be better. A locked baggage room for holding baggage for a few hours after checking out or before checking in.

One of the receptionist, a tall gentleman, is really nice and patient. Although he speaks slow English, yet he is kind and considerate. He gave me a lot of suggestions for my arrangement. This hotel's location is fine, quite convenient and safe. Just out of the hotel across the road, there is No. 64 bus direct to Vatican.

The room is small and no air conditioner untill June. The air inside the room is not fresh. During the night, you just feel stivy. Yes you could open the window, but you feel not safe to do that during night. I didn't sleep well during the night, partly because of the air conditioner issue, and partly because the sound insulation was not good. I could hear clearly the talk of the cleaners and the sound when the automatic door opened and closed.

Convenient location. Spacious room. Good breakfast included.

There was a charge for the internet connection yet it was so poor that we could hardly ever connect. When we brought this to the attention of the front desk they said there was nothing they could do about it and the problem was probably with our computer. Never mind that we had no problem at the previous 2 hotels that we stayed in, and then no problem at the hotel after that. At check-out, they required that the 16 Euro city tax be paid in cash. We paid with a 20 Euro bill and we were given change in 1, 5, 10 and 20 cent coins. They claimed they had nothing else! Seems they would have cash on hand if they were having to make change for everyone who checked out.

Petit déjeuner pas très copieux. Rien n'est en Français... Manque de dépliants touristiques, pas de chaine de télévision française.
