In a renovated, historic building, Hotel Giuggioli has air-conditioned rooms with minibars. The staff here is friendly. Hotel Giuggioli is in the Prati area of Rome. You will find excellent restaurants and huge range of different shops. Great Metro, bus and tram links allow you to travel easily around Rome from Hotel Giuggioli. You can also walk across the river to Villa Borghese and the historic center of the city. Hotel Rooms: 9

Clean and good location. The staff was not as welcoming to us because we were Americans and could not understand their language. When asking the clerk (middle-age woman, short red hair, heavy-set) a simple question, she very rudely pointed out that we were in her country and not in the United States, and that things were different here. It was very belittling. She seemed to take advantage of our lack of knowledge for the hotel procedures in Italy while checking out. She would not give us the copy of my passport back, because she could not find it, and used the excuse that it was Italian law to keep it, although no other hotel we stayed at in Italy kept a copy. She was ver rude and discourteous when speaking to us. I would not recommend this hotel to first-time international travelers, who are not fluent in Italian.

We have stayed at a lot of hotels in Rome, and this was the best one by far! Well decorated and modern, extremely clean, good breakfast, nice staff, bathtub and flat screen TV.

Good location to use as a base for touring historic Rome. Rooms were clean and everything worked as expected. It is an un pretensious low cost hotel in a city where it is easy to pay a lot more for less than this hotel offers. Night staff very helpfull when asked to provide a night cap from the bar. We enjoyed the stay here and would use this hotel again. Breakfast coffee is great - but as the menu says it's an Italian breakfast so mainly bread not really to our taste.

Good location. Never more. Executive room? Haha! Very small rooms, extremely noisy, If you like to hear noises from your neighbour's room, bathroom, breakfast room then choose this hotel, breakfast - it was a joke maybe.

I was in a single room, I knew from the begining that all I want is a basic place to crash when I'm back from visiting Rome, and it was as expected; everything is small, but is there, and it's nice and clean. Wi-Fi is 1 euro/hr and you have to buy time in advance, and remember to log out so your time is not wasted when you don't use it

Rooms were modern and clean, it was a great location just 5 blocks form the Vatican. Staff were friendly. It was difficult to find the hotel, even when we found the building it was difficult to figure out what floor it was on. The lift didnt have a sign saying which floor the hotel was on so we went to every floor before finally realising it was on the 1st floor. The name of the hotel was actually different to Hotel Giuggioli on the mat outside the reception which also confused us.

great location, not only 5 minuts to Vatican area but also 10 mintus to Lepanto metro station of Line A. It is located within the area of local residence, allowing international traveller to roughly understand the local life. The hotel is not big. It has just several rooms, all of which is located in the same floor of a nice old building. Breakfast can be better.

The Location was excellent, beautiful cake and gourmet food shops all within minutes of this hotel, also great clothes shops and for the church goers, mass in a wonderful church just two minutes around the corner as for the Vatican literally a straight 5-7 minute stroll. This is a no grafitti area and one feels very safe and secure here. Alittle more litrature in reception about Rome and the tourist bits and pieces would not go astray, in winter the rooms could be a degree or three warmer.

We stayed at this hotel for 3 days and were very satisfied with the service. The rooms were clean and tidy, the staff was very helpful in every way. The hotel is 10 minutes walk from the Vatican and Castel Sant` Angelo. If we come to Rome again, we would definitely be staying at this hotel. Woman at reception told us that we can only pay with cash (which of course was not true, because it can be paid by card) but she tried to be helpful whit finding the bank.

I needed a last minute hotel for a surprise trip to Rome. I called the night before after booking on booking.com and the staff at the hotel was so patient with me and helpful. I got complete directions to the hotel and when I got there I found air conditioning, a big fluffy pillow, very well insulated windows, extra quiet and a great little continental breakfast. Definitely book this place, they were great! Very close to the Vatican as well.

I really liked the hotel! It was less than 10 minutes by walk to the vatican and angel castle and near metro stop. The design was great, all new, nicer than the actual pictures. Certainly better than most 3* hotels! Quality/price = exceptionally good

The staff are great, friendly and helpful. I would definitely use this hotel again if in Rome. I wouldn't even look elsewhere. It's a low- budget choice, but the rooms are of a much higher standard! It is one of my best value-for-money hotel experiences ever, and walking distance to the Vatican, to boot! Another positive I'll mention is that there is a vending machine for drinks and coffee on-site, at reasonable prices. Although I didn't use it, even the minibar prices were reasonable (e 1.50 for a bottle of water - compare to typical hotel minibars!). I mention this because I find the practice of trying to take advantage of a "captive audience" to be annoying, and this is a rare hotel that doesn't engage in it. Another little thing - the windows and blinds close to block out the light very well, which is good if you're recovering from jetlag and want to sleep a bit more. The only slight negative I can say is that the hot water wasn't 100% reliable if trying to take a shower at peak period. Just avoid the "rush" and you'll be fine. Also, if coming out of the elevator with luggage, be careful not to trip down the stairs.

Convenient for Vatican, transport routes and shopping. Clean and modern hotel. Room comfortable. Would stay here again. Good local atmosphere in surrounding area. Quiet area but only two blocks from the shopping streets Could have better signposting at entrance. Breakfast a bit limited. Breakfast area a bit cramped.

Good area, not very noisy in the night. In case of "sciopero" close to the Piaza del Popoli - 20 min walk. After 11pm there is nobody in the hotel reception. If your magnetic key doesn`t work because you kept it too close to the mobile phone, then most probably you spend night in the breakfast area because there is nobody!!! And with keys its not a joke.it hapens often. Be aware also that this hotel is on the metro line that operates only till 9pm till April 2012, so if you want to come back later to hotel, you have to find some other way. Sower was very small and it doesnt work well - or too cold water or too hot.

The room was extremely comfortable and clean and the design contemporary and handsome. The location is good: many shops and restaurants nearby, walking distance to the Vatican, and a pleasant long walk to the center. Breakfast was continental. The coffee was good and the staff pleasant.

Outstanding, friendly, helpful staff. Cheerfully allowed early check-in at 1pm, provided free wireless internet and map of area, arranged for city tours of Rome, directed us to a local market for food and drinks, and called for taxi to airport. Free, simple breakfast with toast/rolls and jelly, coffee, and juice. Clean, comfortable room with good sized bathroom, mini-frig, and tv. Safe, quiet neighborhood conveniently located about 5 blocks from Vatican City. Easy to walk to most tourist sites in Rome such as Spanish Steps, Trevi Fountain, San Angelo Castle, and classical churches/monuments. Very close to many restaurants, bars, and shops. 40 euro taxi ride to airport. Breakfast was good but had limited selection and no daily variety.
