The villa was recently restructured and offers large common areas, a solarium terrace and easy access to the suggestive rocks of the beautiful sea of Giuggiulena.

The Giuggiulena Hotel, ranked as a "bed and breakfast" in the tourist literature, is a shelter carved into a cliff overlooking a bay off of the ocean on the east coast of Sicily, in the city of Siracusa. It is an almost self-contained environment, a serene and visually beautiful oasis, where you hear only the lapping of waves from the sea, as if you were on a secluded island in the middle of nowhere.
The hotel is a little piece of heaven, a cocoon engraved inside a rock overlooking the ocean. Actually, it's on the other side of a bay, facing the historic part of the Siracusa, about a 15-minute walk away.

Area information

The accommodation is centrally located in Siracusa overlooking the sea and one of the small marinas. It is a 15-minute walk to Ortigia, the historical centre of Siracusa, or alternatively there is a local bus and boat service. Local bars, restaurants and shops are all within close proximity. Sites of interest within the main town of Siracusa include the ancient Greek Theatre, where performances are still staged during May & June and which forms part of a larger archeological park. The archeological museum has one of the best displays of archeological remains in Sicily. The old cathedral located in the heart of Ortigia date from 1728, but includes 8th century Norman artifacts. Siracusa also offers beaches which are generally located to the south of the city and include the resorts of Arenella, Fontane Bianche and the protected coastline of Vendicari. Further afield from Siracusa, but within easy driving distance are the Baroque towns of Noto, Modica, Ispica and Ragusa Ibla. The popular resorts of Taormina, Giardini Naxos and Letojanni are located north of Catania, whilst the imposing form of Mount Etna is easily visible from Siracusa and offers numerous opportunities for excursions.
