Score from 254 reviews Excellent
The place is excellent. Situated just 4 km from the city historic center that is easily accessible. The rooms are comfortable and very clean. Very nice view of the picturesque Tuscany hill sides. Great breakfast, but above all, Sylvia, the owner, and the rest of the staff are very kind and helpful of everything we wanted! We had a wonderful time and was a pity we couldn't stay more! We certainly go back soon.
The rooms are clean, staff is helpful and friendly. Good choice if you have a car to get to the old city
The family was very friendly. My husband met the father and he gave my husband a tour of his small winery and vegetable garden. Breakfast was great, plenty to choose from. The bathroom was small, but we managed. Would stay there again.
The staff was friendly and very helpful. Enjoyed the breakfast. Lost an expensive pair of glasses and they helped me find it. Even helped to load some luggage to the car. Car parking was very secure.
Some street noise but tolerable.
Quite a way fromSiena, but an easy drive and a handy bus service, staff were very helpful and knowledgable.
Some traffic noise
+ very friendly woman at the reception, explained everything tourist spot in Siena and the region + beautiful view from the terrace
- you depend your car or the bus to get around
Big room with terrace. Very trendy furniture. Parking. Need a car . Quiet place. Kind owner.
To close to a small road, with a little traffic.
Already in the evening we were looking forward to the nice breakfast where we were also always welcomed most cordially. The fact that it is a bit away from the city center is compensated by the view of the landscape. For those who are reluctant because of the street, we didn´t have to use the air conditioning, so I cannot say something about the condition in hot weather, but we were comfortable with the windows closed and you couldn´t hear any outside noise as soon as you closed them.
Although installed with a map, we got lost on our walk to the city center and in the end took the bus, which was good as the way seemed much farer to us than expected. Also if you want to eat something in the evening starting from the B&B you´ll have to walk a bit. But we made it to "Pizza Jolly" in ca. 20 minutes and it was a nice place.
Excellent staff, the owner is very receptive, always willing to give advice. Excellent breakfast choice, clean and peaceful environment. Place on the edge of Siena accessible by bus with a views of nature.
Extremely nice and helpful staff. Really nice breakfast with a lot of offerings. Clean and comfortable room.
While 'castle' charming on the outside, the small rooms are not with basic furnishings and white linoleum/tile floor. Location is not convenient to central Siena without a car and converted castle sits in a parking lot. Also, the road in is somewhat dangerous with cars speeding up the hill.
Location near to city, staff very nice and helpful, breakfast, facilities
Very nice people. Very good breakfast.
It was a lovely old building. The staff were really helpful. The bus was only a short walk and easy to get into town.
We had a very pleasant stay. Clean and nice room, good breakfast and very helpful and well organized staff. The owner Silvia borrowed us an umbrella on a rainy day as we didn't have and in general she is always ready to help. Location is also very good as it is green and very quiet but very close to a bus station (10-15 minutes from the city center).
An extra hour for the check out (11 instead of 10) would make the place almost perfect.
The staff and breakfast were excellent. Also, it was a good value as it was very close to downtown Siena. We opted to not take the bus and the hostess informed us where the free parking is located. Of course, we visited Siena a little off-peak (April), so I don't know how good of an option this would be for summer travelers.
Our room faced a loud street.
Good parking, wide room, 2 min to a bus stop to a city center
Recently, we spent 5 nights at the B&B Gli Archi. Sylvia & her staff hosted us at this special Tuscan gem situated just outside the city center. We chose Gli Archi because we were renting a car in Sienna & needed parking that provided secure overnight parking. Upon arrival, Silvia who speaks excellent English, oriented us about how to use the nearby bus, provided a written schedule & bus tickets were available from her, & a good map identifies close-by restaurants and shopping. We stayed in the apartment that gave us flexibility to eat in if we wanted. The first night we picked up local food specialties at the nearby Coop market & tried the family-made red wine for an excellent “eat in” meal. The views from the B&B are the picturesque hill sides around Sienna. The historic center of the city was easily accessible. We were able to easily get to the main auto routes around the city for trips to surrounding wine areas. The breakfast buffet is excellent with various expresso coffees freshly made-to-order-we had cafe latte & cappuccino each morning. There are fresh baked goods, several kinds of local meats, hard boiled eggs, & cereal available on the breakfast buffet. We would stay here again & will recommend to others.
Great location with a nice view. Comfy beds and good shower. Breakfast was good and the owner was friendly and helpful.
A bit noisy.
The place was very nice. The staff were very helpful. The room was spacious and clear. Highly recommended.
very friendly staff; excellent breakfast; access to a kitchenette; a very quiet place
It was diificult to find the way to the hotel
Location just outside Siena was perfect for us as we had a car. Staff helpful and friendly. Good continental breakfast.
Minor thing was that the address if put into your GPS takes you to a house down a rough track about a half I'm away which was a worry at the time. The owner had sent an email to warn us of this but we did not have Internet in the week before so did not get the email. Not an issue but something to check before you go.
We loved everything - the setting was spectacular, a restored farmhouse, decorated with taste. Spacious. Quiet, with an amazing view. Close to buses and hence close to town with the crowded feeling. Close to other destinations including Pisa and lot more.
The host was really lovely and helpful. Breakfast was really nice. All necessary (how to get to and from city) information was given and if you needed any help then she was happy to help. Fridge/ freezer for use. Location out of city centre. The kettle in the room.
The keys to lock/unlock room. Would be easier to flip a lock from inside. The bed was really firm. The electricity outlet plugs didnt fit the inlet so I had to swap a few adapters. Would be really great to be able to use the kitchen. At least cutlery or utensils.
