We couldn't get an iron in the room , no tea and coffee facilities , and if we wanted a cup of tea it was 13 euros , which was only hot water and 1 tea bag , granted it did come with a few biscuits .
The staff were all lovely , especially the bar staff in whinnies bar , John Luke , marco ,were very professional ,and massimo ,was very entertaining
The only notable detractor was the mattress. Woke up every morning with back a little sore, but so many positives, it is almost a non issue (and the massages at the spa weren't too badly priced )
The location is absolutely incredible. Waking up with the sunshine glittering of of the lake was like heaven every day. The waiters in the hotel restaurants were great, and the bartenders were incredibly friendly. Lots of stuff nearby (if not next door!)
Breakfast could be improved a lot. Free Wi-Fi must be made available ALL over in the property.
Couple of the reception staff members were very helpful.
It is incredible that they don't have ramp for baby carriage on hotel entrance or on the way to the dining room.
Location was perfect and rooms are spacious. Busy road is in front of the hotel. Our suggestion is to choose room with lake view.
a dream. perfect personnel
Nothing but parking location isn't immediately obvious. Space is limited so be prepared to pay a fee on a daily basis and offload the bags and check in first. Parking is secure though and the hotel works well for anyone that wishes to tour
Location, staff quality, food, room, atmosphere. This old lady has it all and is pleasingly independently run. Something of a gem and long may that continue
The grandeur and sense of tradition, the good food, the lovely spacious room, the big, comfortable bed; the breakfasts, the bar with entertainment. It was such a great place to have a honeymoon.
nothing negative to report
room accomodations view good value
Amazing hotel, great staff, ideal location
The location is unbeatable. Gardone is a quieter resort but the boats make getting around really easy. The hotel is a beautiful old, grand style. The staff are extremely helpful
Both me (63) and my daughter (39) enjoyed the stay at Grand Hotel. The staff was perfect, both in the restaurants, bar and reception. Fantastic oldfashion junior suite, where we could reach the palms from the romantic veranda and still could see the sea! Perfect beds with 'feather-cover' like in Norway! Very good food both at the hotel and in other rest. near by! We have to come back!! This was september 2014.
Smoking allowed on balconies means smoke cannot be avoided on one's own balcony and bedroom. Loud music played in adjacent bedroom - it should not be allowed.
Four star service and facilities
Location, room, staff, restaurant・・・・everyting is very very goooooood! We want to visit here every year.
Room too old with no balcony. TV too small No iron or ironing board Not a lot of choice for breakfast
We loved the location and the history of the hotel. The service was excellent and you must spend an evening at Winnie's Bar.
View on to busy road
The cost of drinks and particularly coffee in the lounge and bar. Did not like the choice of singer and music in the evenings.
The charming old world feel of the hotel. The fact that one can swim in the lake from the hotel without having dire warning notices.
Tired decor Loud cleaning staff Too expensive for what you get Mostly 60+ crowd No wifi in rooms Stiff mattresses
Location Character Service and Staff View Lake Garda Food
Stayed three days at GHG to celebrate our 39th in luxury. Loved the hotel. Elegant, comfortable, wonderful food, superb room with balcony overlooking lake. A fabulous location for a special treat.
We ordered a junior suite facing the lake. Front window to the lake was blocked by tree, the balcony was on the side of the hotel. Furniture was old and very tired. Bathroom lighting poor, shower had curtain, water leaked on floor. They did move us to a room with a front view of lake but rooms badly need updating.
The staff was absolutely the best. The restaurants and food were also excellent.
Having to park the car off site.
The splendor of the public areas, great views of the lake from the room and fine dinning.
The location cannot be beaten....and is very old school which is great....however the rooms are being refurbed, and we got 3 that hadn't been....the rooms were expensive so a little disappointing .....however so many things made up for this.
The staff are amazing especially Barbara and Massimo....they have been there a long time we have met them before ......we were welcomed back like old friends....Barbara who manages the reception was so kind, helpful and so gracious.....it was High season it was a full hotel.....but everything we required for our guests and the bridal party wasn't too much bother..I have travelled extensively to many countries and she is without doubt the most professional.....Massimo is an institution in the Piano Bar......Barbara says the day he leaves The Grand will fall down.....he makes fab martinis always remembers your name, flirts like mad with the ladies and flatters the men......fantastic.
Everything. The staff were wonderful. The rooms were fine, the location perfect. Be sure to visit Winnie's bar named after Winston Churchill who visited this bar.
Nothing. Its a great place.
The staff were fantastic, friendly, helpful, knowledgeable, just great. They could not have been better. The location is superb, the service brilliant and the food amazing. If you want to go to the Italian lakes (which are great) go here. Amazing.
