Gran Melia Rome    

Very stylish architecture, extremely well kept garden and swimming pool, beautifully designed interior and rooms, comfortable beds, good sound-proofing, excellent breakfast (probably the best hotel breakfast we've ever had), very good restaurant (though we tried only the "casual" one), entire staff very service-minded and friendly, free shuttle into town, free gym open 24hrs and last but not least: the location! You can even see the top of the St. Peter's while swimming in the pool.

Well, one could always wish that all this luxury would come at a slightly more modest price. At least one could have wished that the breakfast - which was indeed superb - would be included. But, if you really want to indulge yourself staying in the center of the eternal city, you won't be disappointed. If you have the money, go spend it - we only live once!

Awesome hotel, super friendly staff, best hotel and money value in Rome. A must for romantic or family vacation.

Location, garden, building!

We ordered a room with breakfast, but we had to pay extra 18 euros for pancakes for our child every morning. It should included in 5- star hotel!

Great location, lovely room, fantastic gardens and very well maintained.

The hotel had a great "Feel" the staffe were incredibly helpful. We had a suite which was magnificent and we regularl had deliveries of bottles of wine / fruit / cakes / etc etc Foor in the restaurant was magnificent

Bit Picky really .... but the layout of the restaurant was a little unusual and didnt help the atmosphere in there

We liked the design, friendliness of staff, quality of food, luxury and the nice details in the room.

The location of the hotel which is in a not so touristy area. The layout of the grounds of the hotel. The fact that it has a garden for kids to play in. The stunning pool, which would've been fantastic in summer. The outside area was a selling point for me to decide on the hotel.

The service was not so good, not a lot of attention to detail. The kitchen closed at 8 pm At new year so my kids had to starve till 11 when the staff finally decided to bring their in room dining. The lack of flexibility of the staff on any issue that a guest might have. The junior suite, which was super expensive but had no coffee table to eat from, or to place your stuff on. The design of the rooms is such that your cellphone, mini iPad and other gadgets really don't have any space except the floor to be placed on. I particularly hated the fact that my gadgets had to find a home on the floor because of the lack of top space. They have the red level service for specific guests, to date I don't know what it's about as the orientation procedure is flawed. I hate the fact that I could only find one small dustbin in the bathroom. Given my current needs, I would not stay there again as I would rather spend my hard earned cash in a place where the customer is king

We visited restaurant. The service was excelent. But we experienced very high prices and not nice ending. I and my wife ordered 2 glases of champane for each person [totally arround 400ml] but were charged for two whole bottles! [2x 0,7] :(

Very friendly and helpful staff, wonderful view, location and spa. Breakfast is excellent.

An oasis of quiet in the heart of the city -- one block from the Tiber and a five minute walk to the Vatican. One of the best meals that we had anywhere.

Although there was a built in desk with a chair for doing work, there was no light at the desk and no convenient electrical outlets at desk level.

Marvelous design Friendly, helpful and highly professional staff, especially the Redglove guest relations. Service of extreme quality: even a short delay in our in-room dinner made our dinner a compliment from the hotel. very nice spa breakfasts are great

We didnt like the price but it was all worth it

I loved the morning brunch served on the patio by the pool. It was excellent! Loved the shower with the multiple shower jets. Nice presentation when you arrived, felt like you were staying in a resort as opposed to a big city hotel.

The room was small yet functional but the open bathroom concept was too modern for the small room.

It was clearly apparent that the guests were made to feel very special. The staff were unbelievably attentive.

Location, relative to the Vatican, was a big plus. The hotel was situated on a hillside in a prominent position overlooking the river. Extremely clean.

had a room with an outside deck which was great, but 5:30 AM every day there were carts rumbling below us.

Lovely hotel excelent location, far enough away from bustle of Rome to be peaceful and relaxed, but only 20 minutes walk from all city attractions. Staff were very welcoming helpful and polite. Hotel is beautiful, clean and well decorated.

It is expensive and we were charged fro extra milk to make coffees in the room which was annoying- and expensive. The rooms look lovely we had a junior suite so plenty of room. The bathrooms look lovely but I found the glass wall too near to the bath itself and so you had to sort of shuffle round it.
