Location. We have been in the Baglioni several times before. Now it was quite clear that the Baglioni Firenze is decaying too much. Poor maintenance, unpleasant, untrained staff, exception for the maids who helped us when there were gutters in the room (a suite for about 300 Euros a day), very dirty windows, missing handlers and difficult to open without getting dirty hands. Unorganized breakfast service in the restaurant. Good food, but (again) bad management. In short we will not come back to the Baglioni and would not recommend it.

The hotel was right by the railway station so excellent for dragging cases on arrival. The rooms we were given were very quiet so sleeping was not a problem. The roof garden is stunning as one can see all over Forence for 360 degrees. and the terrace is covered with beautiful arbours and flowers. The restaurant where breakfast is served also has these panoramic views. Serving staff, cleaners and doormen are all charming and very friendly. There is a huge choice at breakfast. Fresh fruit and fruit salads, many kinds of cakes and pastries, salad, scrambled and boiled eggs, croissants, bread, cereals, yoghurts. three kinds of fruit juices, coffee and a hot urn to make tea of choice. We felt the hotel was very expensive considering the fact our rooms were quite small. The wardrobe wouldn't open unless you moved the bed and only one person can walk round the room at a time and one has to sit on the bed with legs tucked up. Although the room was very clean it was pretty spartan. Just the bed (which is a double even in a single room which was nice) and one small chair and if you opened the window fully it was very hard to sit in the chair as the window opens inward. Also as someone else has said the single rooms open onto a shaft created by a small square of high buildings so there is no view to speak of. This was mitigated by the presence of the beautiful roof garden. The hotel has a foyer and a small bar but otherwise the is nowhere for guests to relax apart fron the rather dark bedrooms. All other downstairs rooms seem to be set aside for conferences. We concluded that it is a good hotel for business people being quiet and comfortable but a bit too businesslike and spartan for people on a special holiday. The cost and the level of luxury didn't seem to tally apart from at breakfast which is very good. We paid £2,250 pounds for 2 single rooms for 6 nights and had hoped for a bit more space, luxury and light for the cost. Of course, the rooms will be more luxurious at a higher price level so can't comment on those.

The old-style luxury feel - not a standard bland hotel as you too often see. It hasd lovely nooks and crannies, old sculpted wooden ceilings etc We had paid for a luxury room but the first room we got on the 4th floor was large but very disappointing (no atmosphere, old rather than antique furniture, outdated bathroom) and not worth the money. The next day we managed to move to another luxury room on the 3rd floor and that one was really fantastic and worth the money. Then we were happy!

The hotel staff was both friendly and accommodating. Breakfast had ample variety to satisfy anyone's taste. The hotel is over one hundred years old, so the rooms are a bit dark and worn.

I liked being so close to the major flrence tourist sites The staff was very unfriendly and the rooms were quite noisy. Several times I had to wait for assistance at the front desk even though no one other than me would need help. They would all ignore me and keep right on talking with each other. Also the hotel exchange rate from us to euros was outrageous being approx 17euro cents different from the local currency exchange rates. I could hear the 5th floor music until approx 1am and I was all the way down on the 3rd floor. The bathroom drains did not work well resulting in standing water during showers. The pillows were quite uncomfortable. The rooms were clean though

The cleanliness and the rooms comfort. The location of the hotel next to the train station and the main points of interests for tourism. They also have a nice roof garden for night drink and chilling. The staff are not friendly and not very helpful. The food is not great.

Centrally located Only the concierge staff in particular Ms Tessa is friendly and helpful. The reception staff at the counter was not helpful at all and very cold. This is not to be expected from hotel industry. I have travelled all around the world and stayed in top star hotels and so far they are normally friendly and helpful and with a smile on their faces. But Baglioni hotel staff basically are below par in terms of their reception and public relations duties. I had to request for a change of room as the original room is having windows that is facing to a strange site with absolutely no view. I was asked to pay a lot more should I want to change. And I ended up paying more as there is no choice.

Great breakfast and great housekeeping. Taxi cabs where dispensed quickly to the front door! The front desk staff was short and abrupt with me many times. It seemed like they were doing me a favor for spending 450 us dollars a night. For that kind of money I expect pleasant greetings, smiles, and thank you's when I am dealt with. The consignee charged exorbitant mark up on tickets to museums.

Great location if you want to be in the middle of a busy "touristy" place, yet not noisy at all. Comfortable room, helpful and friendly staff, relaxed atmosphere. We enjoyed our stay thoroughly. No coffee maker in room - if you need a early morning cuppa - you need to walk to the Grand Canal side and locate the cafeteria that opens at 5.30am. Not a problem unless it's raining ...

Beautiful location, next to train station, cathedrals, Duomo, Accadamia, everything that you want to see in Firenze. Service staff were efficient and courteous, the room was elegant and comfortable, it has the best rooftop breakfast of our trip. We stayed on the garden patio level and had a great table outside to enjoy Tuscan sun and refreshments. A little pricey, but you get what you pay for, and it's normal for that part of Firenze.

Location, architecture, history lookalike, position of the restaurant at the fifth floor, personal politeness, bathroom... Personal: lack of smile. Bad was a disaster, shits were rough, no wi-fi and difficult internet access - I had to sit on the floor to access internet on my computer, nonstandard electricity access - there could be some adapters in the room, so I could charge my telephone or other electric devices...

The hotel was close to the railway station which had us somewhat concerned, but it was very clean, safe and appealing. From the moment of check-in we were impressed. The lobby and common areas were full of charm and history. The room was very large for a triple and was very richly decorated. The housekeeping was meticulous. The breakfast room on the top floor gave a wonderful impression of Florence, and the food was fresh, the selection was large and varied, and wait staff were friendly and efficient. This room could have been improved by having in-room tea/coffee making facilities and and an iron/board. This doesn't seem common in Italian hotels though.

I liked the hotel location , the essence of the old historical building , the breakfast room and the view from it, the breakfast was very good The staff are very rude not helpful and totally unprofessional with the exception of the porter and one very polite guy in the concierge. The price is very high for the hotel quality and the offered service. The rooms need renovation they are very old and the illumination is very dim.
