Excellent location, right across the street from SMN station (for those who want to go around Italy by train) and the departure points of groups and near to all the sights of Florence. I loved the older style atmosphere of the hotel with luxury furnishings.Bedroom very large and comfortable with beautiful decoration. The bathroom was spacious and luxerious.Very nice view from my window.Breakfast with one of the best panoramic city view.Roof terrace was stunning, ,with a great view, perfect spot for an evening or afternoon drink.
Very poor Wi-Fi connection in the room
Most pleasant staff, the moment we arrived: porters, front desk, restaurants, laundry and concierge! Excellent!
Breakfast unbelievable!!! Bravo...
the location, the staff,
the hard bed, the air con. noise and difficulty to switch it off.
The hotel was stunning. Superb location. The room was beautifully decorated, although could have done with some extra lighting.
Sometimes the staff were a little too aloof for their station, however this could be something that is typical of the culture of living in this area.
The decor Friendly staff Choice and quality of breakfast Roof terrace bar Room facilities
location adjacent to bus/train and right at the entrance to the old town couldn't be better located superb views from the dining/breakfast area and the rooftop terrace!!!
A very beautiful, historical, classic style hotel. Location very good, just 2 mins walking to Firenze S.M.N station. Nice view at restaurant on 5th floor, facing to the roof top of the Duomo.
Part of the floor in the room creaked when we stepped on it.
Restaurant for breakfast (on top floor). Roof top view. (but food from breakfast is not allowed to take to the roof top tables). Location
room- Too dark. Needs more receptionists. Long wait to check out.
The location, downtown, 5 min from Signoria' Square and Pitti Palace, Boboli's Gardens. The top roof of the hotel is amazing, the view of Florence is stunning.
The price is way to high for the quality. The breakfast is quite poor, the staff service and in the organization...burnt bacon and cold scramble eggs, tables not ready for the hotel guests, forks and spoons missing from the table, few peole, strangers, sharing the same table and so on). This des not belong to a 4 stars hotel. The staff is not really friendly, and the bed linens are totally acrylic. The hotel is totally too expensive from the service you get back. I do not recommend it.
Underground walkway lead directly to the hotel from Train station. Good breakfast spread. I've stayed in this hotel in 2010, and decided to book the same hotel for the convenience for this trip. I have a better room this time!
WiFi connectivity is patchy.
If you are looking to stay in Florence for a few short days, this place is great. Right across the street from the rail station (for those looking to bounce around Italy by train). Restaurant has an incredible view of the duomo.
Staff were nice, but at times it seemed more like an apartment than a hotel. They rarely interacted with us. This was one stop along our honeymoon through Italy -- pretty room, but wouldn't recommend for romantic trip or honeymoon.
i love the atmosphere of older style established hotels with luxury furnishings and helpful staff.
Terrace, breakfast, decorating, style, location
Close to a Main Street, old place without sound isolation so it can get noisy in your bedroom Saturday and Friday evening
The roof top terrace/view The location right next to the train station The restaurant/bar staff - friendly and amusing
The lack of iron and the high laundry rates
Excellent location. The concierge was very helpful and efficient. One of the best hotel breakfasts I've ever had.
Very small bathtub, extremely difficult to take a shower.
Location was good - very close to the train station, tourist bus stops and also shopping areas Hotel was adequate - room was clean and tidy
One of the reasons we booked here was because of the reviews on the rooftop bar / restuarant. Went to have dinner here and the service was terrible. We tried to get a table and was basically sent from one person to another (on wild goose chases). We ended up just leaving as it seemed all to hard to just get a table - let alone eat. Was very dissapointed as this is the sole reason for booking this hotel.
The excellent food and amazing view from the roof top terrace and the restaurant. We stayed two nights and were glad we decided to stay in on the first evening and enjoyed great entertainment in a fantastic setting - a very memorable evening with one of the best city views in the world.
There wasn;t anything we didnt like!
location...It s very near and easy to reach from train station. Rooftop view is great.
a lot of dust
Friendly staff, central location to key attractions, roof terrace at night was stunning and breakfast with panoramic views brilliant.
Staff was extremely helpful and polite...lovely settings for outside terrace with music and warmly designed common areas. I will repeat the staff here were beyond a 10 rating.
Rooms were a little dark...the room could use more lighting and the lamp shades were tattered...the bed was squeaking and a bit hard...but I took the room vibe as the goal of the decor was to feel like you were in an old villa. Yet the outside areas were a little more updated.
Loved the location, view from the rooftop
Beds are HARD, rooms are well worn and need updating
I loved the relaxed comfort of an older, classic hotel that has been well cared for and updated! I had a view of the Duomo from my room window...what a surprize. The rooftop patio was a perfect spot for an afternoon or evening drink with friends and business contacts. Staff was always helpful - from the cleaning people to the front desk.
There was a rushed feel to the breakfast room and there was no variety of foods from day to day. That said, it was still excellent.
Excellent location, close both to train station and the city centre. Decor is great, old styled, it's just what you need in beautiful Florence. Breakfast was very good, roof top restaurant has stunning view. Room was clean, bedding was changed everyday. Staff was helpful. Next time will stay there again.
nice rooftop restaurant and bar
