The bed while quite large, was extremely hard and made for an uncomfortable night's sleep.
The room was large and bright. We were concerned it would be noisy, but with the window closed it was quiet and restful. The linens were nice.

This was our honeymoon and we had requested a room with a lovely view. which we got, unfortunately there was scaffolding up around the hotel which we were not told about on booking.
Great location. Walking distance to all the most important sites. Beautiful Hotel, amazing breakfast, attentive staff.

Snooty front desk staff and not very helpful. The restaurant is great for breakfast ( included in room rate), but NOT for dinner. We had a party of 6 friends who were shushed by the waiter for laughing during our dinner. Also, the menu is very upscale and not for everyone. We found it hard to find something to order.
Fantastic room and location. The rooftop area is stunning at sunset. Have a glass of wine and watch the sun set over Florence.

1) the disturbance due to the construction works every afternoon outside my balcony (room 426). Maybe the hotel should have shared that there are ongoing works! 2) the poker faces of the staff (breakfast shift at the 5th level) 3) poor check in / out expetience - simply cause there was NO ONE behind the counter 4) for all the above reasons and in addition to its high daily rate, i dont consider my hotel stay as a pleasant experience

Unfriendly, not to say inefficient and unprofessional, staff at the reception. Shower too low (I am 1.7m high), water with weak pressure and intermittent temperature. My allergic friends coughed all night, don't know if due to dude or sth else. Breakfast was very disappointing: no fresh bread, fruits or good coffee! Interior and facilities really old, outdated and dirty (especially the sofas in the corridors and lobby).
Location, even though a little noisy and busy with traffic. Bed linen and towels were very good. The baroque mirror in the bathroom was beautiful.

staff pay more attention to italian clients than foreigners ( general thing all over Italy). My complaint about the bed went unsolved until I had to become quite firm and tell them I will not spend one more night with a headache and a sore back from their divanetto. Only then the maintainance man came down to work out what is the issue. bathroom: there was a permanent stinking smell coming out of the drains ( I suspect historic building -they must have problems with drains)- no matter how many windows we kept open, it will still stink.
location room aesthetic was stunning

Nothing really. I noted people complain about the condition, but it wasn't dirty as such. Sure it could use a spruce up, but then it would be really expensive. I honestly loved the place. It has personality.
Pretty much everything. The room was small, not in mint condition, but perfectly fine. The hotel is seconds from the train station, a walk from almost everything you'd want to see in Florence (max 30 mins) and a pretty walk at that. The staff were lovely, the barman Marco was great. It has a dated vibe but I found that charming. Breakfast was great too.

View from rooftop terrace. Bkfast. Cleanliness. V quiet at night.

My group had two rooms. One room had a very unpleasant odor in that the smelled like sewage. It came and went and I'm uncertain where it came from. Other than this perfect.
The staff was wonderful in every way. The hotel has a historical feel.

Not being given our request for a top floor quiet room but fortunately we were moved after one night to A quiet room
May 5, 2015
the floor in our room was in such disrepair that we would crawl over the bed to avoid steeping on it at night, therfor not to awaken the people sleeping.
Beautiful hotel and upper restaurant view.

Corridors a bit too dark.
Well situated in the town centre. Easy access major attractions and railway station. Friendly and helpful staff. The restaurant is excellent. The photo exhibition about the history of the city was interesting.

Room and breakfast very good. Easily accessible from railway station.
April 11, 2015
If I have to find something, our room's shower was a little short for my 6+ foot frame.
Close to nearly everything. Walking distance from the train station and most attractions. Pitti palace was the furthest but definitely doable. Breakfast was good with excellent view of the city.

Concierge staff not especially helpful or responsive. Often answered questions with a glib response or seemed irritated and bothered by requests.
Location, size of rooms, beautiful roof garden, lively gracious public areas. Superb bartender, excellent housekeeping staff, responsive and efficient room service.

Room was not properly prepared; dirty towels, toilet, etc. Very old furniture not practical. Building is historical ok, but the hotel is just old. Terrace restairant was closed, which maybe the most attractive part of the hotel.
Wifi and location.

Very hot in the room. The AC was not functioning despite our request to fix it. No bottles of water in the room. No tea bags.
The location. The breakfast at the terrace.

The room was a little bit warm the heat was a little bit high
Ambiance of the hotel the way it is decorated

Staff was a bit rude and never happy or pleased to help. You almost felt you where doing them a favour.
Great location easy walking every where.

The fact that the night manager was so unprofessional it was appalling. Slept in a room where the heater was set at 30 degrees. Couldn't turn it off. By the time I went down twice to ask to turn it off it was midnight. It was never turned off. I asked the get another room. The manager sent me to a room that was occupied with the bell boy. By the time I got to a room that was not smelling of fresh paint, not busy with another client it was 1:30am. I was exhausted and walked around the big hotel from floor to floor with the manager yelling at the bell boy everytime he would tell him the room was busy or when I said it stunk of fresh paint and I can't possibly be asked to sleep there. All in all 5 hours of sleep later I was glad to leave.

The location is ideal because it is close to the train station but also within walking distance to the heart of Florence. There is an awesome view of the Domo from 5th floor restaurant and the patio on the roof top.
