グランド ホテル ブリストル (Grand Hotel Bristol)    

小学生の子供2名の計4名でファミリールームに泊まりました。非常に広い清潔な部屋で、バスタブも広く快適- でした。家族4名宿泊での費用vs快適度ではここが一番良いかな？と思って選択しましたが、良い選択だった- と思います。町中心部までは徒歩10min程度で十分歩けます。外観的にはこの界隈で1~2番に良くとても- 綺麗なホテルで、ロビー・車止めも広く、そういう点でもお勧めできます。駐車場は地下で10EUR/day- でした。

今日ではありえないほどWIFIが高いです。1h=5EUR、5h=20EUR!!!

Setting and overall atmosphere Dinner was very good and excellent friendly service.

in all good hotels Wi- fi internet is free all the time. I found dissapointing we had to pay for this service. Also the drinking glases in our room were plastic! That is only for cheap places, no for a hotel of this category... are you trying to save money?

We actually got moved to the Grand Hotel Dino in Beveno due to something they were doing at Bristol. However, they upgraded us to a lake view room with a balcoy and the hotel is absolutely gorgeous...5 stars! If they treated us this good, I am sure the Bristol would have been just as good (same owners). Everything they do is first class.

Bevena is a little further from the train station in Stresa, but a nicer town, right on the water. So we had to get a taxi... but well worth it!

Classic hotel of a bygone era still maintained like the day it opened I am sure.

No airconditioning in the rooms when it was above 20C outside.

A package including breakfast and wifi would have suited us better. It's hard to move little ones early am when cold.

On arrival we were upgraded to a very comfortable corner room with two balconies, one facing the mountains, and the other overlooking the outside pool, with a side view to the lake. The reception staff were very welcoming, and happy to check onward travel arrangements for us. The location of the hotel is ideal for a pleasant lakeside stroll in either direction, to the town of Stresa itself, or to the ferry stops at Stresa, or Cannobia, for the ferry to the Borromean Islands. (A frequent service, and an excellent and relaxing way to see these lovely islands.)

The hotel lives up to it's name - it is a very grand hotel! The very rich and ornate decor may be a bit over the top for those with more modern tastes!

Good location on lake promenade - only a pleasant short walk into centre of Stresa. Nice gardens and outdoor swimming pool.

Our first night dinner in hotel restaurant was disappointing considering the price. However there are many restaurants within a 10 minute walk of hotel. Also the breakfast buffet is quite expensive - hot choices not as hot as they should have been. We had two power failures in our room for no apparent reason - however hotel staff fixed problem promptly on both occasions.

The Grand Hotel Bristol was a beautiful hotel in the tradition of the grand hotels of the early 20th century. It was elegantly furnished and luxuriously appointed. The location was excellent for walking into the town of Stresa, taking the ferry to the islands and catching the train to Switzerland or Milan.

Our room, a triple, was fairly small with no view to speak of. It also faced the back where workers were preparing the supplies for the restaurant's meals so was a bit noisy at times. Not at all terrible; just not ideal.

we were charged 10 euros per night to use the garage and were not told this upon checking into the hotel (as we could have parked outside if not). when i informed the receptionist i thought it was unfair to do this as we weren't told, she was extremely rude and wouldn't get the manager so i could discuss the matter further. She ended up shouting at me that most hotel carparks are paid for in Italy and i left the hotel feeling quite upset. Nadia the receptionist - you made the hotel memorable but for all the wrong reasons....

Staff were very kind with special requests for our son. Location was just a touch far from the restaurants in Stresa, but seemed to be the best balance of accommodation quality and location. Views from the breakfast room really set the tone for each day - an idea of the weather and views of the lake. Bliss. Good strong coffee.

Annoying extra charges - breakfast, parking, wifi on top of an already significant room rate. Adding these in gives a much better feel of hospitality. Really couldn't find the indoor pool!

They have very good, what I call old fashion high standards, which can be hard to find in the UK these days. The dinning room waiters were particularly good at their job.

We stayed in room 512. The shower over the bath was not good. There was a slop on the ceiling above the bath, which made showering difficult. It would have been better to have replaced the bath with large shower. This sounds a bit pick, but you did ask. The maids cleaned the room extremely well - we were very impressed.

Great location to public transport facilities,great walking paths to shops,great cafes,restuarants in a safe environment and lake veiw/frontage.

Excellent location, a real indoor swimming pool and a beautiful garden.

Too much furniture in the rooms and relatively small bathroom for a hotel of this class.

We consider this to have been one of the highlights of our holiday. The hotel was extremely comfortable, very clean and excellent value for money. the staff were all extremely friendly and helpful. The location is outstanding and our Lakeside bedroom was the height of luxury with stunning views.

the clientele was a lot older than anticipated and most seemed to be on bus tours.. .and they all wore white trousers. weird

We liked the ambience of the bristol the position was great just a ten minute walk along the lake in to the lovely little town of stresa and the ferries to the little islands. having been to garda and como before we think that magiore takes some beating.

there is of course always some drawbacks with any holiday, when booking try and get a breakfast included deal as the breakfast charge is 25 eurosp/p, we did neg this down to 16e but even that we thought was expensive,so in true brit fashion it was off to the local supermarket and croissons on the balcony. the only other complaint was the towels and the bath mat would have been thrown out long ago if they were in our house.
