Real Edwardian atmosphere, wonderful reception staff, nice (though small) room with very nice bathroom and brilliant location. To park your car you need to leave it in the 'yellow box' outside the hotel and give your keys to the reception staff. They'll arrange for valet parking. They need 20 to 30 minutes notice to bring your car back. 24 hour parking costs 21 Euros. Mine came back in one piece :-) The hotel restaurant (Harry';s Grill) is expensive, slow and the food is poor (for Italy). The waiters are polite, but give the impression they really don't care. Eat out. There are many better and much cheaper restaurants within 5 minutes walk. The square outside is noisy at night (at least at the weekend). Revellers were still singing (badly) at 3am. This doesn't bother me as I regularly sleep through nuclear holocausts, but if you're sensitive to street noise it may bother you.

We did not like anything about this hotel except the location. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone who one likes comfort, good service and a decent sized bathroom. The shower room was small and the toilet bowl too close to the door and a bidet next. Having come from a five star hotel with ultra modern facilities to this was like crash landing in a desert. The breakfast was absolutely atrocious and one of the worst I have ever seen. If paying 179 euro for a room one would expect to have one's tea or coffee served . The tea & coffee pots were cold and worse the urn which should have had boiling water was only hot. The selection was very poor they did not even provide cereal. The pale fatty bacon looked as if it had been steamed instead of grilled or baked and what we thought might be scrambled egg was a solidified yellow mass with some herb, and both were inedible. There was not even a good choice of bread. We had to go elsewhere to eat. We were leaving early the next morning so did have breakfast but still paid the same price. Your website gives the impression there is a therme bath in the hotel but it is not in use.

Very hospitable staff. Excellent location. Satisfying menu for lunch and dinner. Child-friendly. The hotel breakfast did not have much variety. The rooms did not have shampoo and conditioner. No ironing service!

Very friendly staff. superb location. Harry's Bar (the breakfast room) is perfect. The wellness centre is too small. The "sauna" was not hot enough - it was more like a warm room! As a replacement a portable sauna was currently installed which was OK but extremely small. There were only two deck chairs in the wellness centre, with towels packed on them from people using the wellness centre. ie. not enough space.

The decor and furnishings were superb: antique furniture and classic style very well adapted to modern needs. The staff were exceptionally comptent and friendly at all levels, including porters and chmabermaids, and the reception was delightful.

The staff went the extra mile to be helpful. The rooms were very commfortable and well rennovated. There was pleasant public space. Limited options for food, with no room service excellent restaurant primarily for dinner. A very bright light in the bathroom which came on in the middle of the night for a cactus growing in a basket from the ceiling.

Only the location. The staff were unfriendly and, unhelpful. The rooms were very poorly maintained. The breakfast was very basic. The only thing going for this hotel was it's location. The poor level of service was the worst I have experience in all the traveling I have done.

The room was sizeable and very nice - unfortunately the experience was spoiled by the relentless construction noise on the road next to the hotel. Construction work was carried out right outside of our room with deafening noise - obviously not the hotels fault, but they were very unhelpful in dealing with the issue. No other room was offered, and we were charged nearly the full rate which meant we had to pay a fortune for a bad two night experience! Breakfast was poor. I would not go back to this hotel.

It was our wedding anniversary trip. They replied to our emails immediately. Hotel's staff and especially women receptionist was very friendly and helpful. Although we booked the room one day in advance only, we got upgraded to a room with beautiful view on plaza, and we could check in early. Spa was stunning and pool although average size was the most beautifully designed and decorated with "ancient Rome mosaic". Selection of coffee in the bar was fantastic. Hotel has unique design and boast of some authentic antic furnitures ( as such would probably suit more mature than youngsters, but that's very subjective opinion). Breakfast was delicious. Overall excellent hotel, and would highly recommend for any romantic, relaxing, class holiday or weekend break. Only various phone, tv, wires lying on the floor could be hidden from . aesthetic point of view. The room could be slightly bigger for the price.

Quality old hotel. Well decorated. Good breakfast. Helpful staff. Beautiful view from room. Paid for a deluxe room which is the same as lower priced rooms with the exception of the view on the square. However there was a rock show on the sq. till midnight followed by breaking down the stage for the next three hours - too much noise, too little sleep.

Central location combined with stylish decor made it a great choice for our few days in Trieste. Room was comfortable and quiet with good facilities. Combined with its excellent food and wine in Harry's Cafe overlooking the central Piazza, we couldn't have been happier. Wine waiter "uplifted" our selection without checking and cost us more than we wanted to pay (was excellent wine but not what we ordered.)
