Grand Hotel Elba International  

The staff are the most helpful and friendly people on the island. The view is spectacular and the restaurant buffet is superb. The pools and private beach too are perfect. The speedboat shuttle service to Porto Azzuro is also very prompt and swift. I'd return to this hotel again.

The hotel is quite dated in design. Overall it's also slightly expensive.

The swimming pool is very nice and the kids playground for small kids it's a plus. Our 2 year old son enjoyed a lot these facilities.

Didn't like the smell of cigarettes the room had. Asked reception to check and they send the cleaning lady with a spray to try to make the smell better. Eventually we found out the smell was coming from the air entry from the bathroom. This put me off a lot about the hotel and the fact they didn't change our room, the shower and the safe were not working but the hotel solved it quickly. Our stay there was ok but the hotel was too business like for our taste.

It is not a 4 star hotel but rather a 2.5 or 3 star hotel. It is a bit dated and tired, but in general relatively clean. Sadly, it is in better shape than the other hotels I have seen on Elba, which is a mass and low end tourism destination. The nice feature of the hotel is the private beach which allows you to stay away from the loads of cheap tourists that plague the public beaches. Welcome to Italy I guess. Lord I miss the usa east coast beaches...

The common areas of the Hotel really need a complete renovation / upgrade. Tired and not so clean.

This hotel's location is what stands out from the rest. We had a room with a balcony overlooking a bay and out to sea and the view was gorgeous. The room was small but fairly comfortable. Breakfast buffet was quite good for a 4 star hotel. The half board was reasonable value but we felt the dinners were ordinary. The hotel is off the main road but there is a bus nearby and a water taxi across the bay. Staff were very friendly and efficient. It has a lift which goes down to its own private beach was was great.

We thought the daily tariff was expensive for a hotel that is fairly shabby and old, although we did enjoy ourselves. The rooms are quite small. The hotel needs renovating.

The resturant was very confusing for English speakers due to the lack of English speaking waiters/waitresses. The resturant was very unorganized and over priced. Dinner menu contain no prices, and to ask was impossible. Also, the room was very nice and we had an amazing view. The price was a little ridiculous for what you get. I was expected a great private beach, and when asking front desk staff upon arrival he mentions it is nasty and good for fishing only. We checked it out and it was not the nicest beach. Lots of rocks, moss, and trash.

Excellent location with magnificent view on the bay from the room. We had very nice dinners/breakfast, also lunch at the beach was very good. Staff very professional attitude. Large swimming pool and nice beach with plenty of sun beds, To be recommended!

Sehr freundliches und hilfsbereites Personal an der Rezeption. - Auskünfte in englischer oder deutscher Sprache sind kein Thema. - die Lage des Hotels ist gigantisch - die Einrichtungen und Anlagen sind OK - das Essen HP (Dinner) ist zu empfehlen - empfehlenswerte Zeit zur Buchung ist die Nachsaison im September/Oktober -> weniger Betrieb, weniger Hitze, geringere Preise

Rapport qualité-prix excellent. Personnel compétent, sourriant, aimable et très professionnel. Situation géographique optimale et très belle vue sur la mer. Très propre et buffet pet. déj. très riche.

Die Lage und Zimmer mit Blick aufs Meer (ansonsten Blick auf den Parkplatz); eigener Strand; großer Parkplatz ohne Parkprobleme;

Die Wände sind so dünn, dass man sogar Gespräche aus dem Nachbarzimmer oder das Schnarchen aus dem Nachbarzimmer ganz deutlich hört, was den Erholungswert sehr einschränkt. Frühstücksbuffet: wenn man spät kommt, ist nicht mehr alles da, nur eine Käsesorte

Die Parkplätze sind in ausreichender Zahl und kostenlos verfügbar. Meeresblick vorhanden.

Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis katastrofal. Das Hotel sieht wie ein unrenovierter Plattenbau aus den neuen Bundesländern 5 Minuten vor dem Abriss. Es gibt kein Strand im gewöhnlichen Sinne, sondern eine Holz-Stahl-Konstruktion von der das Meer erreicht werden kann.
