Breakfast was amazing, very full and with a wide selection. The room was great and with a large bathroom. The staff was very kind and helpful, no complains.
There was constant rearranging of tables during breakfast, they said it was for a soon-to-happen event. I think they could've waited for breakfast to end, I felt like I was a nuisance for them.
Location Staff very helpful Check-in-out very quick Wi-fi powerful
Breakfast could be better
Very clean; very newly decorated rooms. The quadruple room with 2 inner rooms was just perfect! Good breakfast.
Good service and usual Best Western standard all round.
Lack of garage facilty.
Big well-equipped suite, free parking, quiet location, splendid bathroom. Breakfasts were also very good.
For me, the bed was too firm but my wife thought it OK
Ver handy location within easy walking distance if the old city. Clean and quiet
Lucca is a beautiful town, but driving within the City Walls is a nightmare. better to find an hotel just outside the walls and get the bus in. Grand Hotel Guigni fits the bill. A 1.20 Euro bus ride or 10 Euro taxi gets you into the delights of Lucca but you can park your car with ease and drive to other destinations without hassle.
Breakfast selection is limited.
Helpfulness and efficiency of staff. Comfortable room
The restaurant offers good food and the restaurant manager is extremely friendly and helpful.
Has the potential to be a great Business Hotel but the location really lets it down as a Leisure hotel as technically it is located outside the city limits of Lucca and too far to be walking in and out of the centre of Lucca everyday. The first few days all the staff were very good but come the weekend there were different staff at the reception and the bar and none of them were particularly friendly or helpful. In fact Michael in the Bar was down right rude and ignorant and seemed to have a real chip on his shoulder. Our encounter with him really left us with a bad experience of the hotel which is a shame as out stay had started out reasonably pleasant.
Excellent breakfast, very good restaurant, all but one member of staff pleasant and helpful.
Too far and dangerous for walking into Lucca. One member of staff, in breakfast room and once as barman was openly rude and nasty, if he is not disposed off he will put customers from going to Hotel. He blatantly ruined my 39th wedding anniversary.
The place was great and the first time the food for dinner was excellent. However on our return the great chef must have been away and his replacement was not fully trained. The accommodation was very good on both occasions.
Very clean with up to date facilities and free parking. Good sized rooms and responsive staff
Not too easy to find by car the first time. They should give directions.
The hotel doesn't deserve 4 stars, it provides the basic 3* level. Some parts of rooms and the amenities had no renovation for a very long time. Extremely far from the town center (the hotel is just next to the road sign indicating the end of town of Lucca). The climate control doesn't allow to change the desirable temperature (can be changed only from the central location by the receptionist), almost impossible to have a comfortable temperature. Poor breakfast: wide choice, but very basic and unappetizing products; the coffee machine at the breakfast room provides the worst coffee I ever tried in Italy.
