Staff were superb, very very friendly and helpful....couldn't do enough for us. Emma and Franco were two of many. Truly amazing
had no wellness area very very loud I could hear every word from next room, could not sleep poor beds
location pleasant for everything around
Booked a suite got a double room outstandingly noisy no fitness, no spa, no sauna shape of room not very well, dirty shower did not work properly
We decided to book this hotel while touring the Amalfi coast, Sorrento and Salerno. We stayed for 4 nights. We needed a twin room but because we booked late, only the triple room was available, so we took that. The room was HUGE. There was a king size bed that was very comfortable. There was another single bed that wasn't very comfortable, when we tried changing it, they told us all single beds were the same (ideal for children - less for grownups). The bathroom was very big, had two sinks, toilet, bidet, shower, all the amenities. There was a mini bar in the room and a TV. Free wifi everywhere, AC, free parking. The room had a big balcony with chairs and a table, overlooking the mountains. Breakfast was extremely generous, and big variety including: coffee, tea, yogurt, cakes, juices, bread, croissants, cheese, ham, eggs, butter, jam, fruit, granola. The staff was very helpful, spoke English, huge grounds, swimming pool. The decor was very unique and charming and well kept. Romantic and luxurious.
The location wasn't great, a bit off the main road, about 30-40 min drive to Sorrento because of the traffic. About 40 min drive from Amalfi coast. Not in a very nice neighborhood but the hotel was very safe and pleasant.
This hotel is very good and we were quite happy with our stay. All staff is very friendly, flexible, courteous, and accommodating to their guests. If transportation is needed the hotel will arrange to drive you for a small fee, which is very helpful. The building itself is incredible and comfortable. We wish that we could have stayed a bit longer so that we could have enjoyed the magnificent looking swimming pool and the grounds of the hotel. The food was quite good for both breakfast and dinner.
Nothing comes to mind with the hotel itself. The only negative aspect is that the town around the hotel is not very appealing to visit, however, as mentioned, the hotel is very helpful with transportation for guests and helping their guests navigate the area.
Great staff, lovely pool and good food.
Dinner was expensive.
Hotel was amazing and great value for money. Decor was illustrious and service generally good. Pool was great and grounds very pleasant.
Outside the oasis of the hotel, the area was drab with absolutely nothing happening apart from awful traffic and only takeaway pizza places. There aren't even pavements to allow pedestrians to walk anywhere. We were totally stranded and soft a fortune on taxis and trains. We decided not to hire a car as the driving around this location was shockingly bad: no seatbelts, whole families on mopeds, cars paying no attention to junctions. Also, the hotel paid more attention to its nightly Asian guests who came by the bus load than to its guests staying there for a whole week. In the week we were there, there were also 3 or 4 weddings which all hotel staff busied themselves with to the detriment of their guests. The service in the restaurant was also pretty poor.
Great architecture and interior design, lovely details - I felt like in a real chateau. Hotel food was good. Staff was very helpful.
They should provide the gps coordinates for the hotel. The provided address wasn't precise enough to find the hotel. We had to ask people in the street.
Parking Size of the room Large bathroom with two sinks and jacuzzi Wifi Bed
Staff a bit awkward Breakfast Although only 6km from Pompej, in view of Italian traffic and road signs long way too go (it took us half an hour) Kitsch interior (hotel constructed late seventees, so all is fake)
Hotel and rooms has a lot of character and romantic settings. Staffs are very friendly and do their best to lift the overall experience for hotel guests. Would stay another time for one max two nights if arrived by car.
We were a family with 3 adult children who stayed a week at La Sonrisa. The La Sonrisa may be a 5 Star wedding venue, but it’s a 31/2 – 4 star hotel at best. No English TV channels available. Rooms and toilets are small. There are no activities available at the hotel except for a pool where the many weddings surrounding the pool leaves pool guests exposed. There is no table tennis, GYM, tennis etc. Location is remote from other restaurants and shops. Require a car.
The garden is nice, but not very clean and is full of insects. The staff are ok.
Avoid it! You can not have a decent shower, the water is either too cold, either too hot, even at the first floor which was supposed to be superior. The smell is dreadful. The pool is full with dead insects. It is very far from the Amalfi Coast. The food consists in leftovers from last night's weddings. We stayed for 2 nights and in the first there were 3 weddings and in the second 2 weddings.
service excellent, accomodation superb, in all everything was brilliant with perfect out exception....
breakfast can be improved and also a mini bar in the room will be great.
Accommodation amazing, staff great fun, couldn't do enough for us, especially Antonio! Even got my photo with the boss to add to his wall of fame, hopefully!!!!
Nothing comes to mind
All perfect! Nice pool. Nice room with balcony. Quircio Pizza in the area was also the best best best pizza i ever ever ever ate. Its abt 5 min by car frm the hotel.
Breakfast was a bit basic.
Close to Pompei
The staff was not really friendly or in a good mood. It seemed that everybody was interested only in the wedding party. The bath in the room was not cleaned. Very few toiletries. The pool area is in the middle of the wedding entertainment area, therefore it was not very comfortable to swim or sunbathe as you are surrounded by many fully suited people. Very noisy with at 3 a.m. firecrackers.
My stay began with a pickup from the train station in the Hotel Jaguar. Everyone seemed to remember me from day to day, greeting me by mame with a smile. Someone was always there, without interruption, to carry my tea to the poolside, deliver wine to my room, and when I unexpectedly needed a dentist, he too came to meet me. If you're looking for a 'Disney' experience, La Sunrisa has all the magic to make it happen. I'll be back again. Thanks to everyone who made my stay special.
Wish I'd had more time there. It's best to have transportation if you want to visit the area.
Everything it was like visiting Disneyland Paris a fairytale hotel
Safe parking!!! The old style appearance!!! The pictures with Maradona!!!
Very poor breakfast Bath run down Very few toiletries Very unhelpful woman receptionist the last morning In general not a five star hotel...
Fancy exteriour and bar. Looks good on picture. Low price, decent value for money. Nice coffee for breakfast when asked for. Decent city view. Helpful staff.
Expected luxury at a five star hotel but standard is no better than an average 2-3 star hotel at best. Cracks and moist in the bathroom cealing, hairdryer from the 80's. Bed shaped like a bathtub when laying down. Double bed was two beds put togheter with a tendency to slide apart. Wedding made the terass unavailable or at least unconfortable to visit. Pool smelled to much of chlorine, never took a swim. Mostly sweets for breakfast. No seating areas in the terass. No view over terass/pool from room as expected. Most if all, horrible location in trashy neigborhood with a lot of traffic. Over all it made ys feel uncomfortable. We suggest you rather book a hotel along the sorrento coast.
All the best
