Grand Hotel Liberty

From arrival to departure I could not fault one thing, staff exceptionally friendly especially some of the waiters who worked long hours but were never without a smile and so good humoured. Reception staff more than helpful.

Cannot think of one thing - but feel if there was any problem the staff would solve it fairly quickly.

would not rate as a four star . staff very nice but that was it. a lot better value to be had for this price. Had a half hour massage that took less than 20mins.

A wunderful hotel with a very high service level - We were very pleased with our stay - and would at any time choos this hotel again!

It's location to the old part of town.

The hotel was ideally located only a few hundred metres from the sailing club where our week's racing was based. It was also convenient for the town centre and shore walks. My lasting impression will be the friendliness and attention to detail shown by the staff. Breakfast was more substantial than expected with a good range of fruit, cereals, meat, egg and cheese (coffee was pretty awful though, so I moved to green tea). On cooler days it was served on the terrace. The rooms were adequately sized, bathrooms large enough, clean and well equipped, although the shower mixers were a bit tired and unreliable. Our rooms were in the rear part of the hotel away from the main road and quiet. Being away from the lake, views were limited anyhow and this was definitely the best for us. The centrally computer controlled air-conditioning system was surprisingly effective and maintained, for us, a comfortable temperature throughout our stay. Unfortunately we did not have time to try the spa.

Despite best efforts to keep it clean, there is no doubt that the decor is a little tired. A lot of dark varnished wood in the accommodation left it all looking a bit gloomy and an inspired interior decorator could transform the hotel.

It was conveniently located and the room size was very good

Restaurant - Lobby

Rooms very old, not clean enough, hairdryer out of work, heating only handled by the reception, tv old, decoration/furniture reminds you of the 80s (probably because this is when the room was last renovated)

Old style athmosphere, peacefull. Very nice sauna & pool area downstairs.

We would prefer more modern bedlinen instead of old blankets. If we have had our kids with us, they were not allowed to use sauna & pool (only 18 years and above!?!?). So I would not recommend the hotel for families with kids.

Die gute Lage swohl zum See als auch zur Innenstadt mit vielen Läden und Restaurants.

Das Personal bim Frühstück wirkte ausgesprochen gelangweilt und desinteressiert.

Zentrale Lage, kostenlose Parkgarage, guter Service an der Hotelbar. Interessante und klassische Optik in Foyer und Halle, allerdings sind nicht alle Zimmer des Hotels in gleichem Zustand.

Im Frühstücksraum ist die Atmosphäre nicht immer angenehm, das Personal deckt morgens schon für abends ein und wirkt von den im selben Raum befindlichen Frühstücksgästen genervt. Bei den Sonder-angeboten der Zimmer kann man Pech haben und ein Hotelzimmer mit nur einem Oberlicht und einem lächerlich kleinen und engen Bad erhalten, Vorsicht also bei der Beschreibung im Internet. So sind vier Sterne nicht zu rechtfertigen.
