The restaurant was quite pricey and though great for breakfast, in the evening it could have been in any other 5star hotel. Although the staff came in regular intervals to ask if we needed anything, while on the beach, it would have been nice, to be able to have somewhere nice to eat small meals, other then the pool area. The outside bar does not have a view, which is a pity especially at sunset. The weather did not permit to have evening meals outside and we felt, that with a fantastic location like this, opportunities have been missed to create more ambient areas to enjoy eating and having a drink. We therefore preferred spending most evenings in lively Ortigia with a multitude of restaurants, even though it involved a 15 Min drive there.
Waking up in the morning and looking from our room and little terrace across the bay to Ortigia/Syracuse, then having a sumptuous breakfast attended by the lovely breakfast ladies. Perching ourselves on deckchair on the cliffs of the rocky beach with wonderful views across the bay and diving in the sea from there. Great base for exploring baroque Sicily from there, but a car is essential. The location is unbeatable, the room was great and the landscaping around the villas beautifully done. It was a very relaxing holiday.
