Location right on the water. Easy, inexpensive access via public bus from Livorno Train Station. Easy, inexpensive Train access from Pisa airport. Beds were very comfortable. Beautiful room. Beautiful view toward the sea. Storage space limited in the bathroom. Lighting in bathroom was not adequate for putting on makeup. For this time of year, very limited choice of restaurants within walking distance of the hotel. |

The breakfast was good. The bed was cosy. A souless shell of a building with no character. No atmosphere, no one spoke. Livorno has better than this and a friendly face to offer people, not this hotel. |

Stylish room The biggest issue of the hotel is a disconnect between a 5* offer and its location / Livorno surroundings. Beach across a noisy road did not help much. Hotel was also below expectations as it lacks ambiance despite being located in a castle, some defalt services of a 5* hotel are not there (i.e. concierge), no information pack in rooms apparently for several months now, no WiFi etc. It was a low season when we stayed at the hotel, which may partly explain our unfavorable impressions. But in the end we decided to leave one day earlier even though we prepayed our stay to move to a more enjoyble and lively place both in terms of town and holel. |

The location was very good for my business trip and the car park was free The service in the resturant was poor and not what you would expect from a 5 start hotel. They give you luke warm water for the tea and the scrambled eggs were more like soup.Tthe eggs were in a re-heated dish and where not very hyginic. |

The room was nice, high ceiling, nice bathroom. The spa was closed on the day we arrived (our only day at the hotel) and this was not mentioned anywhere beforehand. Also, we were given a smaller room after the room we were initially given was occupied by the window cleaner. |

Parking was good. Lovely breakfast and clean hotel. We could open our window wide. The staff gave away too little info about the hotel. The swimming pool upstairs was cold. No one told us that the spa closed at 8pm. Mother had a 10 min swim down there before 8 when it closed , we all thought we would go in the morning....it was closed.....totally defeating the object of booking your hotel.....this was very poor and I would like a refund. |

Location close to ferry city center and beach Overpriced and overrated. This is a low range four star or three star hotel, never a five star |

Very nice hotel in front of the sea. Excellent Junior Suite with sea view. Good service but we have to ask for a second bathrobe. No sand beach or even no private beach in front of the hotel. People at reception and at the breakfast are welcome but their behaviour are not from a 5 stars hotel. |

The luxuriously decorated palazzo is indeed a palace with marble halls and richly decorated ceilings. The view from the pool on the roof is excellent, although I'd prefer a bit of mountain to frame the seashore. Easy to find when you are new to Livorno. We did not have the time to use the spa and restaurant. Staff serving breakfast was poor. We only got our tea after 30 minutes and asking for it 4 times. |

I was meeting up with family the evening before going to hills of Tuscany The floor around the pool is very very very dangerous and should be re-laid with something more applicable for such a wet area. Wet marble is just so so so so dangerous. A bigger pool would be wonderful. It was good to see Aqua Frizzante on the buffet breakfast which was very good. Loved the space and decor of the rooms and fell in love with the bathroom. If returning to the area I would definitely stay again. The reception staff were as one expects in Italy or France were very aloof yet the next day when checking out the same person very friendly? The value for money was excellent as I could not afford to spend more than this and therefore if staying for more that one night would stay in the newly refurbished hotel nearer to town |

The Location was good, room was clean, spacious and quiet with high standard of finish. Under New Management - staff did not seem to know what they were doing, e.g. no-one offered to carry our luggage to/from the car or to our room, there was very little English speakng staff available and those who were spoke in broken English. Very little knwon about surrounding area, drections, local facilities and no information available in the room to advise on local doctor, amenities, room service, etc. Breakfasting staff were walking past our table on numerous occasions and failing to uplift the used cutlery/dishes, etc. Did not live up to a 5-star rating. |

Beautiful hotel in a wonderful location. Excellent value. Great food.Staff very helpful. Room was confortable and well maintained. Staff at the hotel tried to make it as pleasant as possible, however stereo & internet not available in our room and the spa was closed one one of the days. No concierge to assist with luggage to room. Pool area extremely small for the number of guests. |

Excellent value for money during high season. Good location for making day trips from. The chaotic service during breakfast and lack of change in breakfast selection during the week. |

Ideal location right in front of Terrazza Mascagni with a wonderful view on the sea (you really cannot get any better in Livorno). Spacious and clean rooms, delicious and copious breakfast buffet, professional staff, relaxing SPA facilities and swimming pools. |

Great view (on sea front side), sumptuous decour/environment. The most comfortable beds and pillows in the world! Great breakfast fascilities overlooking sea. Lack of staff and those that were in attendance seemed poorly trained, with some not understanding basic customer care. No kettle in room! Very expensive restaurant also meant it was too quiet and bar closed early, so again, no tea before bed. |

Breakfast and the view at breakfast, over the ocean. The central location (to pisa and florence). The room was not ready when we arrived so we went for a walk and had lunch. When we returned an hour later the room was still not ready and we waited an additional 45 minutes in the lobby. The hotel had changed hands 2 weeks earlier and this meant there were no brochures in the room regarding the hotel, television channels, the restaurant, room service or other services. This is unacceptable in a 5 star hotel. It was explained that the information was being printed. Something should have been arranged during this period. If internet is free in 3 star hotels I would assume it be included in the room charge, especially as this hotel is catered to corporate clientelle. No breakfast pack as requested on day of departure. And more . . . |
