We liked the location and the food at the restaurant. The breakfasts were very good. The beds were comfortable and the linens and towels were first class. The staff were surly, rude and not at all helpful. The maid service was poor. The hotel advertises WiFi throughout the hotel, but we could not connect from our room.

My husband and I liked the location near the train station, and easy walking distance to historic district, museums, historic houses and waterfront. The roof-level terrace overlooking the city gives a wonderful view of the seaport, church spires and roof tops. The breakfast is delicious and served in a spacious, attractively decorated dining room.

The hotel is very nice, clean, the staff is very polite, the bed is just wonderful for relaxing. The hotel is on not very short walking distance from the old city, there is a bus-stop right in front of the hotel, bus number 35 will take you to the central part.

Friendly staff, a comfortable room, well priced given the services it offers, very easy to find (its located just up from the train station). The hotel also has two jacuzzis on the top floor balcony which were great. The hotel over-charged my credit card. Only by 11 EUR, but still, a bit of an annoyance. Still awaiting a reply from them as to why I was over-charged.

The room, after we have been upgraded were great, big and very comfortable. The beds are great as well as great shower and big bath. The guy working in the lobby bar is very friendly as well as the porter. When we asked for a bed for our infant it took ages for the hotel to respond and when they finally did they did not want to put one in the room so we had to pay for a bigger room and still they did not bring any new bedding for the baby. Also there is no swimming pool at the hotel

Beautiful hotel! I was so excited when we got to the room. It looked exactly as advertised. The room was so comfortable and luxurious, that we stayed in most nights and ordered room service. Wonderfully helpful staff. Beautiful views. Easy to park nearby. Right next to the train station that took us to Cinque Terre.

Very nice. One of the best hotels I've stayed at in Europe. Coming from America, our standards are a bit different but I don't think you'll get much better than this. We got the deluxe room which featured a nice size room, television and access to the spa. The breakfast spread is exceptional and 2 out of 3 times the staff where attentive and nice. Location is good, right across from the main terminal and the building itself is grand and decorated well. The spa is well done and the room service food is better than some "5" star restaurants we've been to. I hate the fact that almost all hotels around Europe, push together two single beds and call it a double. It's so annoying if you're sleeping with your partner, one of you always inevitably ends up sinking into the crack. However the beds are SUPER comfy so don't want to down play the quality of the bed and linens. Also if you hit breakfast at the peak time sometimes the staff seem a bit stressed. We've had 3 breakfast visits and only 1 time we felt we were bothering the staff. Other than that they've been pretty good by European standards. Also don't recommend a massage. If you do make sure you ask specifically at the desk for the type of massage you want. The one I had was little more than a gentle rub and didn't seem like the lady was trained at all.

Absolutely fabulous. Upgraded free of charge to a Spa Suite with Chinese theme, service was great - they were a tad short of staff in the evening but compensated for this well and the bar man who has worked at the hotel made for 39 years made up for any slight delays in his courteousness. Would thoroughly recommend Trattoria next door belonging to hotel - ambience great, starters and wine great - main courses let it down.

location, staff, food, view on the city and the best part was the Spa the openning hours of the spa is really bad 3:30 to 9:30 which makes it very inconvenient to spend time there. It should open earlier in the morning at around 10 and close later at around 10:30

excellent facilitites, close to town center. Room with a view was superb, nicely decorated. Excellent breakfast and well tended. Definitely good value for money. Parking very expensive and not in the Hotel (howver they provided with a valet service that was good). Recommended trattoria next to Hotel poor quality, expensive and staff not very polite. The hotel has an old world charm. It is a traditional city centre hotel with an interesting history and good services, clean and comfortable. It has a high standard of accommodation and service, and an old world glamour. Situated on the edge of the medieval heart of the city, it is very practical for the dozens of historical monuments, palaces and churches that make Genoa so special. It was a good base for exploring the city, and also a relaxing and comfortable place to stay in the middle of a long journey between Rome and Provence. It has great plumbing which is wonderful for the weary traveller, large comfortable rooms and bathrooms. And the rooftop restaurant is fine. The food is tasty and fresh. It is sufficiently luxurious at a good price. We were very happy to stay there. Perhaps the hotel is a little understaffed. It caters to many guests and therefore perhaps they are a little pushed at times to give the fastest possible service. As international travellers, we were also disappointed that we couldn't watch a movie in English to relax at the end of a long day's travelling. In fact we found the tv system a bit mystifying.
