The hotel was beautiful, the furnishings were exquisite. The Staff were very friendly and helpful.
bar service. I sat down 2 times for 15min and they never came to serve me. Check-out very cold.
I really enjoyed my stay in this hotel, it makes you feel like you are in Italy, old decorior and furnitures etc, it also has a great view when you go to rooftop of the hotel, great breakfast too, will definetaly go back. Also want to say thanks to receptionist Ambra because she helped me get my refund back from listicket.it because of the canceled Sampdoria Genoa match, i was streesed about it and she called them and later on wrote them an email in italian and sorted my problem out.
The mattress can be more comfy, was a bit hard and the bathtub is too high, can be a problem for older and shorter people to get out when you are wet!
Location is great
It was fine
Usually staff is very helpful. You can ask for a toothbrush and what not. Though sometimes their help is misleading, like when we wanted to go shopping, but it was rather late, so we asked at the reception when do the shops close. They said we had at least an hour. But when in half an hour we've reached the shopping area, all the shops were closed. Still we liked the hotel very much, it's very cosy and welcoming. Also they have beautiful decorations for the holidays. Breakfasts are good, though it sometimes takes the waiters a lot of time to bring your order, and once the coffee was very bad. But usually everything is nice and tasty. Also we appreciated the possibility to play the grand piano. We would definitely come again.
Sauna was broken on our last day. Also the key stopped working a couple of hours before our departure, so I had to go to the reception to solve the problem. After I went back to the room the key was still not working. Again - back to the lobby. They apologized, I went back to the room. Key still didn't work. I had to go back again, this time they figured out they mixed up the room number and the key finally worked.
The premises are great. The hotel building is old but very well kept and/or renovated in some parts. Very convenient location.
Staff not too zealous nor attentive. Cheap mattress
Everything is done with pleasure, warmth and welcome. The breakfast is out of this world: smoked salmon, scrambled eggs, fruits, cereals, bacon, even waffles and maple syrup - even honey from a real honey comb! We have stayed at the GHS many times now and the standard is always at its best.
Tranquil haven in a most convenient location.
Nothing to dislike.
