Grand Hotel Gianicolo  

Lokatie en Ontbijt. loopafstand van Centrum +/- 10 minuten.

Kamers zijn netjes maar wat aan de kleine kant.maar netjes.

Zwembad, kamer, ontbijt prima

Onderlinge communicatie tussen het hotelpersoneel liet wel eens te wensen over waardoor er misverstanden waren ontstaan. Personeel reageerde dit af op de gast. Dit is in onze ogen en naar onze mening zeer ongepast.

wij vinden dit hotel perfect voor steden en ondspanning verblijf. personeel is vriendelijk en behulpzaam en bij 38 graden is het heerlijk toeven aan het zwembad.de ligging dicht bij det uitgaans stadsdeel Trastevere waar je heerlijk kan dineren en flaneren

het zwembad werd ook gebruikt door niet hotel gasten.

Voornamelijk genoten van het mooie grote zwembad en de wijk Trastevere waar het in ligt. Zo'n leuke wijk met vele leuke en lekkere restaurantjes!!

Minder was de gehorigheid van de kamers, onderhoud van de kamers en dat het op de top ligt van de heuvel Gianicolo. Dat laatste is op te lossen m.b.v. goede busverbindingen bij het hotel. Helaas de gehorigheid maakte ons elke ochtend vrij vroeg wakker en een paar dingetjes in de kamer dat je dacht 'dat is minder', zoals het behang dat er een beetje af was en douchehouder afgebroken (nadat we het gezegd hadden is het wel meteen gemaakt). Dat is toch wel minder voor een 4 sterren hotel.....ik vindt en verwacht dan dat alles in het hotel door een ringetje te halen is.....

De mogelijkheid om na een lange dag van rome bekijken heerlijk aan het zwembad te zitten en te ontspannen in een omgevind die de drukte van de stad achter zich laat. Zwembad goed verzorgd. Je hebt een badmuts nodig, wwelke je kunt kopen bij het hotel, om te mogen zwemmen. Comfort op de kamer was er niet, geen kluisje en erg donker. Maar je bent ook eigenlijk de gehele dag op pad.

Very nice hotel with great location for excursions into Rome and surroundings. Nice big pool and splendid view from breakfast terrace. Can recommend for all regarding og age and size of group. Also good for families. Top restaurants within 500 meters. 30 min walk to sct. Peters cathedral and to forum romanum. 30 min from airport.

I was visiting my friend at the American Rome Academy, which is located around the corner, so it was the perfect location, and I really enjoyed the breakfast. Very nice stay.

Beautiful hotel with well maintained garden and nice breakfast terrace with a large selection

For us a little bit too noisy because of the main street around the hotel, bathrooms do not have fan for ventilation, warm water a little bit difficult to adjust - all these things were not so bad but very bad was, that you can here people speaking in all the neighbour rooms and at our last night we had bad luck that there was a person in a neighbour room snoring all night long so that it was impossible for us to sleep.

Attractive hotel at top of Gianicolo Hill...we wanted to stay near my daughters University which was around the corner. We had a car and parked right on the street safely across from hotel. Great looking huge outdoor pool thats seasonal. Lovely buffet breakfast daily on top floor of hotel. Housekeeping very accomodating, desk staff very helpful and went out of their way to assist with trip planning, restaurant suggestions, directions etc. Everyone spoke English. It has an atmosphere of quiet luxury - in summer they say its always booked. You need 2 buses or a taxi to reach centro storico area but takes 20 min. At night you need a taxi as public transit stops at midnight. Its up the hill from the center of Trastevere - great for dining and nightlife. Its quiet at night for sleeping. 2 restaurants around the corner and bar open till 1 am nearby.Hotel has bar and restaurant too - elegant decor. I would stay again especially in the summer months to use the pool.

There is no fitness facility on the premises. The bar could be featured more and perhaps be more lively in the evening...with some music or entertainment. In the winter it was overly heated - the lounge area in the lobby was way too hot and stuffy. I felt the windows should have been opened. If you like to walk out the door and be near the piazzas and central to many restaurants, bars and lots of people then this would be too remote and quiet. If you prefer that this is very nice. Taxis cost about 9 Euro to the center and come fast in 4 min or so. I do not like the 1/2 shower door - bathroom was flooded all the time when showering. Rooms were overly hot even when heat was down to lowest - i had to open all the windows at night .

Everything!!!..starting with the strategic location; the efficient service with a warm smile from all its staff; and the convenient facilities provided, making me feel so much at ease. I would definitely return to the hotel one fine day.

Only a 20 minute walk to the Vatican and the hop-on-hop-off tour buses. Superb panoramic views of the city along the way.

The pool was closed after September, which was not explained to us when we actually telephoned the hotel before booking. Our holiday was during the October half term and the reason we chose this hotel was because our 15 year old son wanted to be able to enjoy a swim. Only one straight-backed chair in our room to sit on. Only two TV channels in English and both were news channels. Not really anywhere to relax and lounge around downstairs. In short, the hotel was a lovely building but really only useful for sleeping in. The prices in the hotel restaurant were extortionate so only ate there once. Found a smashing little eating place a couple of hundred yards around the corner at half the price.

Very friendly

It's very family-friendly, because of the tranquille location and relaxing because of the large out-door swimming pool and nice interior of the hotel. It was great to get back from sight-seeing and relaxing for a couple of hours at the pool, before going out for dinner. Continental breakfast was also great, especially because of the view from the roof-top breakfast room. Easy access to the historic center by bus, and something between 10-15 euro for a taxi-ride home from the center, which was cheap and convenient.

Me and my daughter (7 years old) stayed for 2 nights in a standard room. The room was nice (a bit small) and the bed was great, but there was a continuing noise all night. It sounded like water running, or maybe it was the airconditioning from the neighbouring room? We where tired and fell asleep anyway, but if you are sensitive to that kind of noise, bring ear-plugs :)
