Young brusque waitress (Ilaria?) running about as if we were in a pizzeria, chewing gum at the dinner service seemed out of place for a Grand Hotel. My meal at dinner wasn't very good. I ordered a la carte. But the wine by the glass was very nice as was the young waiter who's name I did not catch. He seemed to be quite good at his job.
The pool was lovely but too cold to swim in, at least for me.
I could hear the guests next door and the cleaning staff rather well, so the soundproofing between rooms isn't fantastic.
Rehabbed room was very nice, Reception staff and Maître very nice, also a young male waiter was very gracious and most were terribly helpful. The location was terrific, breakfast good but had I known it was an option, I would have taken it in my room. With the doors closed, there was very little street noise, which was a big plus for light sleepers.
