Offering amazing views of the Bay of Naples from its rooftop terrace, the luxury 4-star Grand Hotel Ambasciatori is perched on a cliff in Sorrento. It also features grounds with pool. Decorated with stucco ceilings, all rooms are very elegant and feature antique furniture and chairs or armchairs. Each one has an LCD TV and a balcony, some with beautiful sea views. Hotel Ambasciatori features a private beach, provided with sunbathing terrace and free use of beach towels, deck chairs and sun umbrellas. A tennis court is also available at the property. Le Muse Restaurant serves traditional Italian, Neapolitan and international cuisine. Meals are served in the elegant dining room or on the terrace, both with views of the sea. There are 3 bars, one in the building, one by the pool, one at the bottom of the cliff. Snacks, drinks and cocktails, are available day and night. The hotel is a 5-minute walk from Piazza Tasso, Sorrento’s main square. The pier for ferries to Capri island can be reached by foot in 15 minutes. The location is great and when you walk in you know that it is a nice hotel. The decor is great and it is a very clean hotel. we stayed in this hotel as we attended a wedding that took place there. The fact that you have to pay for the wifi on top of your room rate which is not cheap. approx 180e I think in most hotels wi-fi is these days given or expected by guests. No complementary water etc. The service was okay but not as attentive as in other parts of the world. For example in the gulf.

Friendly,helpful but not overbearing nor intrusive staff. Location was excellent, just on the edge of the town centre but within 6 minutes walking distance.

We enjoyed the location, the price and the beauty of the hotel. It was a convenient walk from everything and had spectacular views. The room were elegant. The staff was exceptional from the front desk to the dining room. We had a garden view room with a partial ocean view that was great from our balcony! Would certainly stay again! The configuration of the floor of the tub when showering was a little awkward.

Lovely hotel with pleasant attentive staff and first rate facilities .Spectacular location and view with nice ambiance and lovely accomodations. Highly recommend for anyone visiting Sorrento. There was nothing about the hotel that we didnt like.

A beautiful hotel sat on the cliff face in Sorrento with outstanding views of the bay of naples with Mount Vesuvious in the distance. Outstanding service and attention, beautiful gardens and luxury. The pool was quite small but the 'beach', which is actually a jetty by the sea gave plenty of space for sunbathing.

We enjoyed the private beach and the setting, where we spend one day relaxing and the beach bar for lunch. Also the celebration of 15 August (big italian celebration) was very nicely done beautiful settings, views and dinner. Transportation from Neapol and to Positano was also well organized. Overall experience was dissapointing. Hotel is bit run down, safe didnt work for 2 days after asking to fix it repeatetly, tv didnt work as well again we had to ask several times to fix it and finally they brought us new one. Not enought accesories in the bathroom you get 1 shampoo for 2 people and you have to keep calling for more. Also location which was so important to us stated 5 min from main Piazza, but that was more like 20 min, which is ok during the day, but more of a hike if you want to enjoy one of many restaurants at night. There are plenty of hotels in Sorrento for the same hight price and better value...we loved and recommed Excelsior Vittoria and The Syrenne, that we visited for lunches and dinners. Next time we will stay in one of those.

Swımmıng ın the sea The only problems were : No expaınatıon on bılls when presented for payment at receptıon. Worst problem was that we left early on the 22nd of Aug at 6.30 am The receptıon called the taxı for a very short journey of less the half a mıle but we were charged 27 euros. It would be good ıf someone contacted the hotel and made an ıssue of thıs as ıt was the only real spoıler

Perfect location - not in the noisy center, right on the rock above the sea with the lift access to the beach/platform and at the same time maximum 10 minutes walking distance from the cultural and shopping attractions. Quiet and not fuzzy in the relaxation areas ( pool, beach, bars). Could be noisy if the windows would face the street - perfect if facing the pool or the sea. Very uncomfortable bath tub - narrow and slippery, even with the rubber carpet. Poor shower.Good breakfast, though too much the same - if you stay there longer than 3 days you hate eating the same omlet and yoghurt every day.

Location, location, location. The rooms were very pretty, the lobby was beautiful and the grounds were lovely. No top sheet on the bed covering the blanket. Old fashioned hair dryer. Would expect more updated amenities for the price.

This is the second time we have stayed at the Ambasciatori and you can't beat it. We have visited Sorrento on a number of occasions, for business and stayed at a number of different hotels but that added bit of luxury/class go the Ambasciatori.
