Very clean, friendly and helpful staff, food lovely, free shuttle bus, great location, all round excellent hotel!
Excellent reception staff -very helpful. Welcoming and efficient restaurant and bar staff.
clean, comfortable, professional service, good transportation links. food very reasonable. Great views.
evening dining too formal for young children (though easy to find somewhere outside hotel). Other guests seemed to be mainly elderly cruise package or similar vacationers that did not match a young familly
Beautiful views, convenient shuttle bus service although really should have 1030pm service, outdoor bar and lounge area, helpful reception staff who recommended a great restaurant, good location to Sorrento and easy to get to Amalfi coast, free parking although quite limited.
Breakfast was very basic for the rate we paid, too much sweet food and very average quality. Rooms were quite basic for the price although lovely balcony view, just needed a bit more furniture and paintings to make it feel like 4 star.
Views, location, grounds, complimentary breakfast, and shuttle service.
Pretentious vibe from some staff members and guests, awkward sized shower.
the quiet relaxing environment and access to the town
bath did not work. public toilets had no locks and doors did not close. staff did not serve drinks into the card playing area, bus stop dirty needs cleaning
Reception staff v. helpful Shuttle bus Breakfast - reasonable selection Large clean room
Having to depend on shuttle bus to get in to town A/C in room not great Having to pay to reserve sun lounger
We booked The Grand Hotel Aminta for our Honeymoon stay and picked it for it's position overlooking the Bay of Naples (stunning). It operated a free, reliable shuttle bus to the town centre 5-10 minutes away that ensured we could have peace and quiet at the hotel whilst able to enjoy Sorrento itself when we wanted. The room was excellent and we were given a free upgrade to sea view room upon arrival. The hotel was always very clean and the staff were always friendly and courteous. The food was excellent! We would have no hesitation in recommending this hotel and will be definately returning in the future.
Bar area and lounge, lobby areas - nice pool
Room very shoddy dated chipped paint - too small for us and one teenager bathroom nice though Bar over priced pool too busy at times could not get a lounger no games room for teenagers
Great view and pool Great service & staff Classy hotel Great room Good value for money - we got an offer for less than 200 Euros per night
You need to take a shuttle bus to reach it from Sorrento. It runs every hour and takes 15/30 minutes one way depending on traffic.
Views of Sorrento, Vesuvius and bay of Naples. Regular shuttle bus into/from Sorrento town. Very helpful and attentive staff. Very clean!
Distance from the town centre and bus/rail station but the views and shuttle service more than made up for this.
Hotel was very comfortable, clean and modern. Location is on a hill above the town but it is easy to walk down and she shuttle bus is also very convenient.
Reception staff were a little snobish however this was only one or two in particular. The "sunlounger reservations" is an issue - a few more loungers would solve this problem.
Lovely hotel with extremely helpful staff made our holiday.
The cleanliness of this hotel was very good, friendliness of staff was ver good too
The was very little to do apart from sunbath, Swim and watch TV Also having to pay to reserve a sunbed at €4 per bed was harsh.
Staff were very helpful and food in the dinning room was very well presented and good quality. It was nice that there was a dress code in dinning room in the evening. The bar area was located outside, in a very pleasant setting and the views were stunning. We will definitely use this hotel again and wouldn't hesitate to recommend it.
If you wanted to ensure a sun bed was available the hotel charged a reservation fee which meant sun beds were often unused for a large portion of the day and other guests were left without one. Guest rooms were comfy and very clean but not the best we have stayed in
The pool facilities were good. The views were spectacular and breakfast was really tasty. The fruit and olive trees were also beautiful
We stayed in the annex part even though I had booked and paid for the holiday 10 months in advance and requested sea views. The location was too far from the center and we were constantly aware of time so as not to miss the shuttle bus. The sun beds needed to be pre-booked and this was quite expensive when travelling with a family.
Lovely hotel, lovely location and really friendly staff. The hotel also provide an hourly free shuttle bus to get you into the main town.
Decor could do with modernising slightly.
The view from the swimming pool area is excellent and the staff is very knowledgeable and polite.
The water pressure was very low, the location is not walking distance to the city (unless you are fit), the shuttle bus is infrequent. At Euro 220 per night, it is very expensive for what you get.
Quiet location. Excellent breakfasts, lovely swimming pool. We stayed in the annex, booked with a garden view but we were upgraded to a room with a balcony and sea view. Excellent views of the sunset each evening, absolute heaven!
Not enough sun loungers round pool for number of guests.
everything the staff the food location there is nothing bad to say about this hotel
Pool was lovely, room was clean and fairly basic (room 827) but comfortable. Views were lovely & staff were very helpful. Particularly Luigi. The mini bus from the hotel into Sorrento was useful too
Not having enough sunbeds for guests. Paying €8 for a strawberry milkshake (but it was delicious) and €9 for a cheese and ham toastie. Bit dear! The last hotel bus back to Aminta was 11:30pm too early for me and my other half which meant €25 in a cab every night.
Having travelled all the way from NZ and spent 4 weeks in Europe, our final week at Aminta was a great opportunity to relax, enjoy the pool and the fabulous scenery of the Amalfi Coast. We love the southern Italian hospitality and the friendliness of all the staff - our 7 year old daughter, Laetitia, was made such a fuss of - she had her photo taken with so many of the staff - especially Roland who drove the shuttle bus and Francesco at the bar - and absolutely loved jumping in the pool after hot days sightseeing. Nothing was too much trouble - our room, in the grarden annexe, was divine - amongst the olive trees and lemon groves, we watched for lizards and admired the amazing views from our terrace - simply heaven! Can't wait to return. Breakfast was fantastic and helped keep us going most of the day. Dinner on the terrace by the pool was also amazing.
It was all perfecto!
Staff, service, choice of food, choice of drinks, cleanliness, smartness, helpfulness of staff - just nothing at all was anything other than perfect
Nothing at all!
Everyone was well catered for in this hotel .The staff were very courteous and nothing was too much trouble for them. The rooms were lovely and cleaned every day. A courtesy bus was every hour apart from a break in the afternoon and a break in the evening at 10 30
My suggestion would be that it would better if there was a 10 30 bus in the evening instead of there being a gap in the 9 30 and 11 30 bus as most people liked to go in town for a meal and were rushing back to catch the 9 30 (usually full) although it did return for the other people.
Really great staff. Good facilities. Good bus service that runs almost ever hour.
I hate when hotels put two single beds together when you book a double, not comfortable when they separate! Hotel is about 3-4 kms out of the town. Walking isn't an (safe) option and a taxi with cost €28 ( crazy money), now I has to be said that the free bus service the hotel provide is excellent.
