The position of the hotel is excellent. Just far enough from the town centre to be peaceful but close enough to stroll into town and enjoy the wide variety of restaurants. Our hotel bedroom was large, clean and had an amazing view over the Bay of Naplies. The staff at the poolside restaurant were very friendly and nothing was too much trouble for them. I would recommend the Capodimonte Hotel to anyone thinking of staying in Sorrento.

A lovely 'character' hotel. We loved all the numerous terraces and seating areas, all with fantastic views. The public areas and rooms were all very well maintained and decorated with a luxury feel, yet it still retained lots of charm and was very individual. The bathrooms were luxurious marble, with a good powerful shower. The cleaning was very thorough. The breakfasts were fantastic - a huge range of fresh fruit, individually cooked omelettes to name some of our favourites, however champagne alongside all the juices was an added bonus, drinking Bucks Fizz for breakfast overlooking the fantastic view from the dining room has to be one of the the highlights of our stay. Parking, although we had to pay for it, was an incentive for staying there, as finding a parking space in Sorrento is not easy! Although not cheap, we would certainly recommend this hotel for a special occasion. Others have commented on lack of tea/coffee facilities/ironing boards etc, although frustrating that these aren't available, we travel a lot and find this typical of hotels in Europe. The restaurant was very well staffed and beautifully presented with a phenomenal view, however it was this service and the view that was being paid for. We only ate in one evening because it was torrential rain...too wet to venture out, but Sorrento has some fantastic restaurants which provide much better food.

Lovely Hotel with very friendly staff It was our 25th Wedding Anniversary and it felt very special. The location was great and the seaview room was spectacular. 2 single beds pushed together was very poor and we did feel very let down a proper double bed on your 25th Wedding anniversary should have been a prerequisite. Such a shame as the room was fantastic otherwise

The hotel was beautiful, the breakfast was great. I loved the front door! It was a beautiful layout. Staff at reception were very helpful and nice, especially in helping me to book a bus for our group to Naples. The pool was amazing even though we didn't actually have an opportunity to use it. It was nice that the downtown area was so close so we could walk everywhere we went. I was the first person in the group checked in and requested a room with a balcony. What I got was a patio about 8 feet deep with a view of a cement wall. Mostly everyone else in the group had a balcony with some type of view so I was very disappointed with that. I also did not like having to cross the VERY busy road in front of the hotel.

The Capodimonte was a wonderful experience, very relaxing with friendly helpful staff. There's also lots to do nearby-- Vesuvius,Pompei,Capri and The Amalfi Coast. All in all a wonderful holiday with lots of precious memories which we will keep forever.

If you wish to relax and enjoy the sites of Sorrento, this is an excellent hotel in all respects, located within a comfortable 10 mins walk from the centre of the city. Excellent swimming pool facilities. All staff are to be congratulated for making our stay a wonderful experience.

Great position, set in the cliffs on the edge of the town, so had fantastic views of the sea, Sorrento and Mt Vesuvius. Yet only a five minute walk into town for shopping or dinner. Beautiful terraced pool with wisteria covered seating areas for dining or relaxing, again affording magnificent views. Initially given a very small room over the road when a garden view (which was at the back) had been booked. Rather grumpy response from head of reception when we said we wanted to move, made to feel as though we were being awkward.

It is a very impressive hotel with fantastic views, quite close to Sorrento, only about a 400 metre walk from the town centre. Accommodation was very clean and spacious, bathroom included a bidet, and staff were friendly and helpful. We booked a standard double room, but when we removed the bedspread we discovered it was 2 single beds pushed together, not a double bed. We had already used the room, so we didn;t feel we could ask to be shifted, but we were not able to sleep comfortably with this arrangement. This was in early April, low season, and the hotel was almost empty, so it wasn't because of a shortage of beds! We found the hotel restaurant provided excellent service, with a surplus of formally dressed attentive waiters, and the view from the restaurant is to die for. However we found the evening meal food was expensive and varied from good to quite mediocre, and we couldn't get a jug/carafe of iced water.. Breakfast was good and included a wide range. Overall it is quite a good hotel with fantastic views but was let down by it's food and supplying two single beds instead of a double bed. No tea and coffee making in the room, but this may be a European thing.

The rooms were beautiful and the view was excellent. They were a bit full of themselves. Lost 3 pieces of my laundry and it took 3 hrs for them to get back to us and we had to keep calling the front desk.

The hotel was spacious, had a fabulous view over Sorrento and the Bay of Naples. Even though it was was the end of the season the staff were very attentive, helpful and polite. The rooms were clean and the bed comfortable. The breakfast was very good with plenty of choice. No tea or coffee making facilities in the room.

It has a great location with breathtaking views of Sorrento and the Bay of Naples even though it is a very short walk to the centre of town. The furniture and furnishings are outstanding in quality and design. The view from the dining room is hard to improve upon and most guests will have the opportunity to sit by the bay windows for breakfast to enjoy the spectacular scenery. The room was clean and comfortable. Choose a room with a view of the Bay as we did as it is well worth the extra cost. The wifi service was often disrupted and I was required to re-login quite often. Also the one dining experience I had was not very good in terms of the quality of the food. We had far better experiences dining out.

The hotel was in a great location right on the main street with a great view of the ocean. The breakfast was great too. There was parking near the entrance of the hotel but it was always taken so you have to park in another parking of the hotel which was somewhat in front of it but also separate from the hotel

The location is excellent, the rooms are comfortable. Great Breakfast buffet and the pool side bar has good quality food at reasonable prices. The views are excellent and only 5 minute walk to centre of town. The room had ants which kept biting us and climbiing through our bags, staff didn't seem to care. Also they charge €3.50 a day for use of the safe (Crazy). Staff not very friendly on reception. (It's a 15 minute walk to the train station, Taxi's Charge about €17-€20 for a 3/4 mile distance so I suggest you walk. Wifi is not free

Nice views of Sorrento from room. Breakfast ok. We brought our 3month old and were charged €15 per night for cot rental. I felt this was steep especially given the quality of the cot. Other hotels we stayed in in italy provided cot for infant free of charge.
