Grand Hotel Cavour  

A lovely hotel, very centrally located, within walking distance of all the sights. Very modern rooms and a really good breakfast. Would stay there again and recommend to friends & family.

Not a complaint as such, but the roof top bar should be open earlier than 5pm in the afternoon, it would have been nice to have an afternoon relax up there with a nice drink. The guy on the roof top bar was a bit miserable to be honest, we went up there at 4.50pm as we had just arrived and he wouldn't give us a drink untill bang on 5pm, I think as we were paying quite a bit to stay in this hotel he could have at least let us have 2 beers on such a warm day and having just arrived, I wouldn't have thought 10 minutes would have mattered. I think there could have been some more relaxing music up on the rooftop bar, the guy had an ipod playing but you couldn't even hear it, when I asked him to turn up a frank sinatra song that I loved, he looked at me like I had three heads.. I think he needs a personality transplant..

stayed here a few times and location is great, and has a nice feeling down the old street of Florence.

I was put on a low floor and was very noisy the first night...infact i didn't sleep very much at all.... was slightly annoyed as i have stayed here a good amount of times so would expect that the hotel would put you in the best location of the hotel as a returning customer.

Location, close to all historical monuments and galleries.

Room was a bit noisy and underheated. One can hear every step from the corridor and conversation from other rooms. Bathroom deserves reconstruction and more light.

Beautiful old style hotel- beautiful lobby staff very friendly and helpful included moring breakfast was a feast! Lovely dining area central to all squares My husband and I were very pleased with this choice!!

I liked everythign about the hotel, especially the spaciousness of the rooms and helpful staff.

The bathroom wasn't brilliant. But fine.

The staff were friendly and helpful, the location ideal and the roof terrace was heavenly, even though the bar had yet to open for the season. The hotel had a quiet elegance and inviting breakfast room.

The bed was a bit hard, and the room felt claustrophobic as it looked onto a small, inner space.

The location was excellent.

Uncomfortable beds. Way too loud!!!. No bathtub. The included breakfast was lousy. Overpriced for what you got.

The location

There was no welcome at each of are arrivals. I realize it was late each time. There was no help with luggage. All in all Not friendly. Maybe Americans? Each stay were different rooms. The second stay I didn't like the room and wanted to make a change. I went to the desk .. and the woman acted as she was not interested in wanting to accommodate us. The room was older and the facilities were old. I opted to grin and bear it. If I recommend this place I would explain to them this is what you'll get!

Extremely friendly service, all of the staff efficiently and kindly responding to all enquiries. The place to stay when you visit Florence

The location was excellent for a visit to historic Florence. The beds were reasonably comfortable and the rooms clean with functional bathrooms. The staff, especially Angela, were very helpful and accomodating. The breakfast was extra but was well worth it. It was a wonderful selection of fine breakfast goodies in a pleasant and carefully prepared eating area. Not the cheapest place but a good value. WiFi worked pretty well but some areas of the room had weak signal. Better than most Italian hotels.

The location was good for the sites of the city. The hotel bar had a really good atmosphere. Breakfast was good. The general hotel staff were good, friendly and attentive.

The noise from the bar/restaurant was a major anoyance if you had a room at the front of the hotel, and when we were there it went on untill the small hours both nights. Wanted to use the steam room, but was told that this facility was only available in the afternoon. Reception staff came across a little cold.
