Value for money and staff service Very very difficult to find as the directions to the hotel were by street name which we never found and there were no signs in or around Anzio showing the hotel or directions. The only Hotel sign was on the roof which was not visible from the road. The photographs implied is was on the beach whereas it was set back in a side road with the main road between the hotel and the beach.

The sea, beach and the swimming pool werethe only things that we enjoyed. The man at the reception was very arrogant and he kept our passports over the night even when asked to return them, he said he still needed them. We were dissapointed about the room so we asked him if we could get a different room, he even didn't bother to ask why was that, he just sent one of staff to show us diferrent room which was even in worse condition. There was a huge hole in our room's door, the safe did not work and you'd have to go to reception to make a special request if you wanted to keep your things in a safe. The booklet was stating that hotel wasn't responsible for any valuable things left in the room. In the tunnel connencting the main hotel part with the beach side, we saw a huge cokroach (or something similar). The bathroom was ok, but in the room there was lots of dust on the closet's shelves (make sure you wipe it down before putting any clothes there, otherwise you'll find them dirty when you take them out). Lots of dust and fluffy dirt in the airconditioner and fridge's filter. Beds were not comfortable at all. The walls had old paint, which was dirty in some places. The floor tiles were missing under the double bed, so there was only naked beton under it. No tea/cofee making facilities, plus you're not allowed to bring any food or drinks to the hotel. In general, the hotel needs real renovation and cleanning. The staff such as cleaners, the lifeguards or staf taking care of swimming pool and beach area were very nice and friendly / helpful, however the staff at the reception desk / management were arrogant and did not seem to really care about their customers. The internet access costs €3.00 per 30 min or €5.00 for an hour. Also, before arriving to the hotel, I had emailed them asking about transfer to the airport very early morning, and I specified the time that we had to be in the airport. They emailed me back stating the price.

The location right on the beach with crystal-clear water is sensational. The sea is shallow, terrific for swimming with children when quiet, which it was most of the time. The rooms in the Annex are all very generous, with gorgeous sea-view. The beach staff were taking excellent and very diligent care of the beach, the equipment and the swimming pool. Breakfasts are very good, with some very tasty fresh watermelon every day. The restaurant, bar and reception staff do not reach the pretended high standard of the hotel, being a bit arrogant at times. The hotel insists on not bringing any food from the outside, which is a quite crazy at the Annex and everyone seems to secretly break this rule. Our aircon has broken down several times, and although always repaired(?) promptly, it was a bit annoying.

It seems Grand Hotel Dei Ceasari is a hotel where Italians go to vacation. It did not have a typical tourist feel to it which was great. The entire staff was outstanding, attentive and eager to help. The only negative comment I have is about the mattress. Much too stiff for my back. Outside of that outstanding place to stay.

We had a terrible stay. The Hotel is like a scene out of Goodfells's gone bad. The photos of the hotel are completely deceiving. It was far from town and dirty. We were hoping to use the sauna and spa facilities and were told we couldn't as it was Sunday. We also had to change rooms at 2:30 am due to bedbugs. I would never dream of staying there or recommending it to anyone.

Spectacular spot on the beach. The Sea was calm one day (we swam out to the sandbar as a family...very memorable), rough the next day (I body-surfed). We were in a quad room with a nice arrangement of beds and a beautiful balcony. I would suggest the annex over the main hotel any day of the week...balcony, view, access to beach. The service staff was friendly and helpful. The food was better than we expected. We especially loved the bar between the pool and the sea...great for food, drinks and a place to sit altogether. The use of the gym would have been as expensive as the room for us, which is just ridiculous. We're used to the gym being included (as it usually is in America). It's hard to imagine that anyone even uses it. It's far enough from the charming city piazza that a convenient shuttle service makes a ton of sense. Open air taxi was fun but expensive. And people would come from all over the world if there was easy airport access (it's only 50 minutes from the airport early in the morning). We overpaid for the taxi because it was "in the middle of the night." And someone at the desk made it feel like we'd asked for the moon to have an early ride for an early flight. While the location by the sea is enviable and the facilities are VERY nice, the distances to other obvious necessities made accessibility the only downer. Next time we would rent a car, which we didn't want to have to do. We just wanted simplicity.

Clean, nice sized rooms. I did not use the swimming pool or any other facilities as I arrived late and only stayed for 1 night. Good hotel but not really 4*, more like 3*. There is certainly nothing wrong with the hotel that I could see to stop anyone having a pleasant stay. They state that you are not allowed to have any food or drink in your room that has not been purchased from the hotel. Breakfast was ok, range and quality was average.

The room was small, the bed was really not comfortable. It was very nosy outside. The aircondition was not functioning. The breakfast was very poor. We ate only once in the hotel restaurant and were very disapointed.

In general hotel is not bad. But I should say that we were here in the fist part of May (it is not a high season) but price was not like in low season. The main thing wich disturbed me a lot was a quality of food. We visited a lot of Italian cities and small towns but in this particular restoran in hotel food was the worst one. Just pasta and spaghetti was normal, but not brilliant. If you want to see beautiful sandy beach, sea and have a chance to go to see the sights of Rome (this hotel situated about 65 km from the Rome. We spend not more than 1 hour to reach the centre of Rome by car) you should go here, but I don't advice you to eat in the hotel. In the centre of Anzio the are a lot of good restaurants.

Fantastic location with pool overlooking the sea. Friendly personel. Rooms are spacy, clean luxerious. Relaxed atmosphere with large lobby bar and plenty of parking space. Ideal if you have business near Rome but wish to relax instead of staying in the city. Only 1 hour by car from Fiumicino. Although Wifi was offered free of charge, it was only available in the lobby.
