the location of this hotel is great for sightseeing in Palermo The hotel needs to be cleaned. The carpets throughout are absolutely filthy and not just the communal areas but also in the bedrooms. Breakfast is held in a beautiful room but the breakfast itself is not great. The pastries are delicious but the savoury selection is not good and the fruit was tinned!

I had problems with water in the bathroom-the water was quite brown. I was on the first floor. When I complained they changed my room. I also had mini bar items added to my bill, these were taken off immediately when I queried them.

Like - location to Massimo etc... Valet parking was prompt (I don't think there is any parking on site) Hotel was needs some work on it, especially in some bedrooms - Mum and sister had 329 which seems ok, but avoid 328. Staff rude, we waited one morning 25 minutes to get coffee and ended up walking out whereas local businessmen had about 3 people waiting on them. Would be useful to have some leisure facilities - swimming pool etc..., but we knew that from the description.

The junior suite was very comfortable with large rooms. Some areas of some floors are currently being renovated. There is no signage to indicate where these areas are.

Except for its location, not much. Just about everything. Dirty hallways, not clean room, and very unfriendly staff at the front desk.

This classic, "grand" hotel is in the perfect location to explore all parts of the city. It was a very comfortable room in an older hotel. The breakfast was terrific and overall, it was a great deal for a throw back to the 1950s style hotel.

A historical building in the heart of Palermo. It needs a little renovation, but the room was extremely comfortable. Top location!

The location is very good. I like the atmosphere the hotel inside. It is antique, but the utility is modern and clean. We are very much satisfied.

Old fashioned in a nice way. Grand entrance. Good room with nice furniture and bathroom. Excellent breakfast with lots of food choices. Stylish hotel and right in the centre of Palermo on the Via Roma. No free wifi service. Lousy view from the hotel room on a courtyard at the back of the hotel, but at least it was quiet at night, as opposed to the front of the hotel where there is noisy traffic from the Via Roma.

Location was central. Room was very big and very comfortable. Breakfast was also very good. Front desk staff was seriously handicapped due to there inability to communicate in English. I wanted to extend my check-out time to 4 PM but I was given a morning alarm at 4 AM. Complementary Tea-Making Facility could have been provided in the room which had a fancy price.

It was a beautiful old grand hotel, breakfast and room staff were excellent, the reception staff not overly friendly or helpful, but got a bit better as the week went on. Over all a very nice hotel and good value for money, great location. Reception staff. Showers leaked all over the bathroom.

Very nice hotel. Clean rooms. Good price and quality balance. I had nothing to complain about. Best location possible. It is in the city and therefore do not expect the birds singing behind the window. No active lobby in teh hotel but plenty of bars around the area. Good hotel, really good!

This is an older hotel, formerly grand luxe (it seems) but slipping down the scale. Rooms have been refurbished and are actually very comfortable, bathroom likewise, consistent with standing. Breakfast excellent, varied. The reduced rates on booking.com were competitive although higher than what we had been paying elsewhere in Sicily and Palermo. Location is excellent (near Politeama and airport bus). Staff generally pleasant and helpful. I guess we are not that into faded grandeur -- drinks in the minibar were 6 euros and up, internet access was 10 euros per hour (you got that right) and also 3.50 euros for 10 minutes on the hotel machines. The first room we were assigned was tremendously hot (a/c off for the season), they changed our room without quibble and the second one was better. Lengthy walk through faded corridors to elevators. Depending on your priorities and budget, this may be a good choice but it did not fit our criteria as well as others.

The hotel was full of character from Wagner's piano to the large high ceilinged reception and dining areas, all with their painted ceiling and columns, mirrowed walls and wonderful chandeliers. The bedrooms were again large with high ceilings with a well equipped en suite bathroom including a bidet.Linen was good quality and was changed every day The staff were extremely kind and helpful even a porter to help with luggage to rooms, a small but appreciated service. The breakfast was good, varied and plentyful. The central location of the hotel made the visiting of local site, of which there are plenty, easy.Very good long distance coach and train services made visits to other towns again, easy. Cefalu being one in particular. We could not recommend the hotel more highly.

The hotel is a 5-10 minute walk from the port. It is on the border of the old city and new city so perfect for walking to everything. An elegant art nouveau hotel. Bathroom is ok. The breakfast good with plenty of choice. The carpet in the room needs a good cleaning. Service at the front desk were unhelpful.

Great design and atmosphere. Rooms beautifully decorated and very comfortable. The location is perfect, right at the city centre. The only thing we were disappointed about was the Internet fees, as we expected free Wi-Fi.
