Het Grand Hotel Mediterraneo ligt aan de oevers van de rivier de Arno, tegenover het uitkijkpunt Piazzale Michelangelo. Het beschikt over 3 restaurants waar Toscaanse gerechten worden geserveerd. Er is gratis WiFi beschikbaar en de kamers zijn voorzien van satelliet-tv, airconditioning en een minibar. Sommige kamers bieden een panoramisch uitzicht op de rivier en de groene heuvels rond Florence. In het Grand Mediterraneo is een Amerikaanse bar en een lounge gevestigd, waar gasten van hun rust kunnen genieten. Er zijn tevens 2 eigen boetieks met Italiaanse designerkleding en lederen accessoires. In de lobby is een internetpunt met 4 computers aanwezig. Heel kleine kamer, onbeschoft personeel, vooral bij het ontbijt. Ze proberen uit alles munt te slaan, Ondanks duidelijk vermeld dat wifi- gebruik gratis was probeerde het baliepersoneel ons 5 euro per uur aan te rekenen en bij het uitchecken werd bijna het dubbele voor de parking aangerekend dan afgesproken. Hotel is bovendien gelegen in een heel drukke straat waardoor we vanaf 7u30 automatisch wakker werden van het lawaai in de straat.

Ligging is ideaal. Florence centrum op loopafstand. Naast hotel ligt een heerlijk restaurantje. Mooie ruime kamer. Ontbijt was onder de maat.

Location is great - far from crowds and noise but still walking distance from the historic centre. You can walk along the river, it is very nice scenery, esp.at the night. Free wifi in the room was a big plus. Parking at the streets around hotel is free on Sundays and at nights other days so we did not need hotel parking for 20EUR at all. Breakfast served till 10am. We came at 9.45 and there was only bread, boiled eggs and butter. Other 2days we did not manage to wake up before 10am. But I think we did not miss much.

The old designe They have a problem providing the service of the wi fi and the staff is not cooperated as they just look for the thiing as they will provide you the user name and pass word and that is it....also if I am staying in their for a certin period I don't have to renew from the receiption the user name and pass word in a daily bases and how do I know if I start having problem and then checked with them and they said it is only covering one day.... How is the customer will know if there is someone told you.

Price, close to city center, good service at reception Average breakfast, lack of service during breaksfast, impossible obtain the clear instructions of how to reach the hotel using the bus #14 from city center, less than average beds, no coffee machine in the room. The dinner buffet doesn't provide a quality choices of food for the money.

Comfortable bed, air conditioning, very quiet, clean. The wireless internet was weak in the room, and really only worked well in the foyer. Hotel location was a little bit far from the centre of Florence.

Centraly located hotel on Arno river and at the same time very convenient for car travelers. Comfort rooms with air-conditioning (you'll need it when outride temperature is 35 degree Celsius). The breakfast, although well organized, suffers from insufficient variety. If you want a good coffee, better pay some extra charge at the American bar at the hotel lobby.

As parking in the city centre is very difficult, we chose this hotel because it was the nearest 4-star hotel to the centre which provided parking ability. The price was fair, though we went there off-season. The room was clean and the hotel has a good location to discover the city centre for people who go to Florence by car. The breakfast was not too varied, we expected more from such a hotel. Also, the room was a bit small, but to tell the truth, it was not a big problem as we just went there to sleep.

Big, clean rooms in a good location. It was very noisy. You could hear the people in the hall way and there was construction/renovations taking place at the time we were there which made it very difficult to sleep past 8am.

Breakfast was terrible. Bad food like bread was hard, the bacon was thick and full of hard pieces. The coffee was terrible( specially in Italy) no plates or bowls for cereal. The service was rude, trying to get everyone out at 9:55, even if breakfast times where advertised at 07:00 to 10:00

The receptionist was unable to check us in in an efficient manner. There was confusion as o how many beds were in the rooms although our reservations specifically stated how many beds were needed. One family took 45minutes to be checked in after a long day of traveling.

“Het meest genoten hebben mijn zus en ik van de formidabele ligging en het uitzicht van het hotel!! Het personeel is uiterst vriendelijk en zeer hulpvaardig.Het ontbijt was rijkelijk en het dakterras vooral in de avonduren zeer romantisch met een goede service wat betreft drankjes en hapjes.Het feit dat je aan de voordeur de Ponte Vecchio oploopt of in de andere richting het uiterst interessante Paleis Pitti , (met de beroemde exposities en tuinen) op korte loopafstand liggen, is uiterst aangenaam.
