Grand Hotel Minerva  

The relaxed feel. Although the staff provided all the necessary services impeccably, all was done discreetly so we were free to relax and enjoy our holiday. We loved the pool on the roof and its stunning views. The pool is, perhaps, a little chilly for most tastes - I cringed a little when I saw a baby being lowered into it; but for us it was very refreshing. The location is perfect and is particularly well placed for day trips from the nearby station. The staff were great, they did there job well and also managed to remain helpful and friendly. Although the hotel is situated on a popular square, as our rooms were tucked towards the back of the hotel, they were remarkably quiet. As we were with children this was very much appreciated, they, and we, could enjoy relaxed and undisturbed sleep in the lovely comfortable beds.

Considering this is Italy, I was surprised at the standard of the morning coffee! It was ok, but not as good as I would expect to receive in Italy!

sometimes noisy from the piazza outside there also was internal noixe early every morning - furniture being scraped across the floor in the room above or something like that

very pleasant.We share a suite for 4,and the view fom the window was excellent,the suite was large with 2 bedrooms each with its own bathroom

Great room (two floors!!), great location, great views from the roof! Wish we were there in summer to enjoy the pool!

Staff were wonderful. The roof top area was a beautiful spot to relax at the end of the day. Very good value for the price. Great location. Easy walking distance throughout the city center.

The Location is exellent and staff is very friendly. Room was cosy, clean and bright, but you should ask for a room with piazza view it will fill your journey with true and romantic impressions about Firenze. Close to the rail station and taxi as well.

Sometiomes it can be noisy as the walls are quite thin.

Location was fantastic. Rooms were clean and comfortable. Breakfast was repetitive, but nice, so no complaints there. And the staff at the restaurant were friendly and helpful.

The walls between the rooms are quite thin, you can hear the noise in the next room. Also, just to be aware, there is a city tax imposed on top of the rate stated for the room in the booking.

Fantastic location, brilliant staff and large rooms. We travelled with three young children and extended our stay by two nights and stayed in both the family split level suite - huge and the two bedroom suite which was great.

Lovely place to stay, and close to train station and a 2 minute walk to 'the doma'. Beautiful city, with all the sites within walking distance. The hotel staff were very friendly and spoke very good English and helpful. I would recommend a suite, so when you've had a long day walking around seeing the sites you can relax in a comfortable sitting area in your room! Beautiful views of the Santa Maria church, buffet breakfast to suit all with cereal, fresh fruit, cold meats, cheese, pastries and cooked continental sausages, bacon and scrambled eggs. The dinner in the evenings were nice too, and lovely attention to detail from the staff.
