I really have to say that in the 3 hotels I stayed in Italy, the whole hotel experience in Grand Hotel Minerva was superb. It really made my Italy trip as a whole a lot more pleasant and enjoyable. The location was good as it is adjacent to the renowned Santa Maria Minerva Church and facing the piazza. I had a room with two balconies facing the piazza and the church and enjoyed a really good view. Not only that I can also see the top of the duomo from the balconies which was really a beautiful view. The restaurant was good quality and breakfast was not bad if you used the Italian standard to compare. The hotel room was big with very comfortable furnitures and new contemporary design. I felt like home there. Most interestingly they have a new roof top pool opened most of the day until very late in the evening which also serves appetisers and drinks. We had a nice evening settled down quietly by the pool side and had light dining with wine overlooking the duomo and the church. It was one of the most romantic evenings we had in Italy! The hotel has lived up with it's claim - Real Hospitality and Real People. Nothing except the walk from the train station was only 5-8 minutes but if you have a lot of heavy luggages to handle, it can be quite hectic. As we have lots of heavy luggages and the roads from the station were all very bumpy with uneven rocks so it wasn't easy for us to even take that relatively short walk. |

My three teenage children and I (single American dad) had a wondeful stay. The location/service/amenitites/rate can't be beat for teenagers and parents alike. The staff is exceedingly helpful/friendly/accomodating. The next time we're in Florence, you'll find us at the Grand Hotel Minerva. The beds were not "luxurious"; they were merely "adequate". I hope the beds are upgraded before we get back.... |

It is close to railway station and you can walk to the sights of Florence . Nice cosy pool on top of the hotel . Service excellent , very attentive. Outside of hotel needs facelift , much nicer inside. Bit expensive for room , but all Florence was expensive. |

Excellent location on a quieter part of town so you get a good night sleep. Walking distance from the station - do not get a taxi a waste of money. Staff were excellent and very helpful. Breakfast was good. Free internet point. Hotel rooms were very clean and to a high standard. Book here and you will have no issues. Roof top pool |

The Grand Hotel Minerva is in a very central and beautiful location only a 5 minute walk from the train station. It overlooks a famous piazza which affords great people watching! The interiors and staff were of the highest standard and we were upgraded to a suite on the 5th floor. |

The hotel is beautiful and in a good location. The rooms are big, white decor, gorgeous bathroom and still plenty of room with an extra bed, however they do charge 121 euros per night for this so the rooms are expensive as is the mini bar! Also if you have kids its better to order off the A La Carte menu rather than paying for buffet which is about 30 euros. |

We arrived early (8am) after a night train from France, and our room was ready so we could check in immediately, which was great. Staff were very helpful. Location was very good - a five minute walk from the station, and about ten from the Duomo - and the rooftop pool had fantastic views. Breakfast was excellent. Contrary to our expectations from the website, the room didn't have a view at all - just a small window looking into a tiny internal courtyard - and skylights. These gave lots of natural light during the day, which was great, but meant we couldn't sleep in at all because there was no way to keep the light out. |

On arrival at the hotel the doorman was so courteous. We were upgraded to a suite which was super. The member of staff who, impressed us the most was the barman Ithink his name wasSiad, excuse the spelling. He managed to combine professionalism with care.excellent P/R skills. .Perhaps reminders about bank holidays .No public transport.Lack of facilities for changing if one has a late flight. |

Excellent location inside the old city. Stunning rooftop views (too bad the rooftop pool wasn't open in April). Hotel has been nicely refurbished, and rooms were clean and modern. |
