When we booked we did not expect luxury for the price we paid. We got it. A fabulous hotel in the centre of the beach area with all the ameneties you expect from a 5 star hotel ( this is rated as 4 star ) friendly staff that were very helpful and a beautiful and spotlessly clean hotel. The picture on the website does not do it justice. If we every go to that part of Italy again this will be our prefered choice of hotel.

amazing space and riches all around! too thin doors - you can hear what is happening in the corridors. That's just one small think, which can make you upset(((

We were there for Carnavale and as busy as they were, every one of the staff was remarkable, personable, and eager to make our stay comfortable. Food was excellent, room spacious, and we felt pampered throughout our stay. The hotel even arranged for a taxi to pick us up from the hospital after an unfortunate accident on the street and we made it back in time for the parade. It was a beautiful weekend and hope we find our way back in the future.

Staying off-season (but enjoying hot weather) we were given better rooms than expected. All rooms are spacious with high ceilings and small balconies. We had a side facing room but also a view of the beach. The hotel is probably for older people but it is elegant enough for a romantic break. We were glad to be visiting in October when there are virtually no other hotels open and could enjoy the pool and beach without the mayhem that must surely be present in July. The resort offers little to do or see but thee are excursions along the coast and mountains that would make this a good base. We were finishing our holiday here after Pisa and Lucca so just used the hotel to relax for two days before heading home.

All the staff were helpful and pleasant. We initially booked 2 nights and extended this to seven The bathroom was disappointing. It was too small; the shower wet the whole room, making it unpleasant for normal bathroom uses.

The staff was very accomodating and the hotel and location are first rate. The only problem that I had was with the directions that I got from the hotel to our next stop at the Best Western inb Viterbo. The directions were very vague abd didn't help at all once we arrived in Viterbo. Also the directions I got for the location of the nearest Catholic Church were totally wron. I was told that San Andrea was on street 20 September and there is no church at all on that street. I wondere around for a good half hour before I found the church located several blocks away. This was not totally the staffs fault since the young man at the desk got his info from a map issued by the city. After my trip to Italy I am convinced that Italians in general are not all qualified to give directions to anywhere. This is a shame in the land of Amerigo Vespu cci.

It is a grand hotel with special appeal in this area. We loved staying at this hotel as it is our return visit. The staff was friendly and the services were excellent. We thought the breakfast was not up to par for the price and quality of this hotel. The coffee was not good. The fruit was not ripe and the eggs were not good.

Grand old hotel on the beachfront with impressive rooms and public spaces. The bedrooms were large and airy with high ceilings and good air conditioning. Large bathrooms but no tub, which was a pity. F&b staff were attentive and pleasant food quality was very good. Good location for beach and in the heart of the resort. Pool facilities were good and well maintained. Basically a good qualty 4 star hotel that met expectations. After a 7 night stay I was very disappointed that I could not extend my checkout by one hour. I was offered 30 mins which was insulting ! If you can extend for 30 mins what difference would 1 hour make. Front desk staff were perfunctory and inflexible. Whilst they were professional and provided good information, there was little genuine warmth or hospitality. The hotel is frayed around the edges and needs updating, It's a beautiful building in a great location and caters towards an older demographic. It's a stuffy hotel with a lot of "rules", eg- You can't have dinner unless you're on halfboard (you have to check with front office if you want dinner???), you cannot wear beachwear in the lobby (it's a beach resort !!), you have to hand over your passport at check-in (no explanation !!), you have to dress formally for dining (really in 2012 !!). All in all it's a typical Italian resort hotel where they do things like they always have. No creativity, boring same old, same old hotel which is a pity as they they could be so much more profitable if they improved the hotel and services offered. Finally, change the pool umbrellas, they're all mouldy !!

Don't take the economy room; the bathroom is a night mare. Otherwise the hotel is very nice, near the beach (which costs 18 euro per day). From the outside the hotel looks like the best in the town.

The grandness of the building and its location in the resort.the cleanliness was of a high standard.rooms were a great size and very comfortable. Parking was expensive unless you wanted to chance leaving the car some distance away on the street. The extra price for using the beach which was never mentioned anywhere

Very much enjoyed the comfort of the hotel - room was ok (save for a temperamental toilet!) and the convenience was excellent to beach and shopping. Good base for doing day trips (we did Lucca and Siena). Would stay again.

Although I am sure I had the worst room in the Hotel (single use/89 euros) the hotel itself was a different matter..everything was really nice, pool area, garden, public washrooms, parking, bar, everything that you would expect from a quality 5 star. Next time I stay there I would most surley upgrade to a seaside room. If you like Viareggio, this is the place to stay. My room overlooked the back of the service buildings. Not a real nice view, but the weather was too nice to stay indoors anyhow. Would upgrade and pay a little more to stay next time...nice place.
