Grand Hotel Villa Igiea  

Location. There are luxury few hotels in or near Palermo with a pool which was one of our requirements. The location for Palermo is good, but it is necessary to use the (free) hotel shuttle bus in and out of the city which has limited space and is not particularly frequent. Otherwise, as it is too far to walk, taxis need to be used which charge between 15 and 20 Euros for a one way trip. Driving a hire car in Palermo is not to be recommended.

1. Hotel is shabby in some areas. There were a number of, admittedly brief, power cuts and the internet in the business centre was out of action for two days. 2. Our room was not up to standard in that a couple of light switches were loose, the balcony was untidy and only swept clean on request and the anti mosquito plug needed recharging. It was also too small to be described as "King Deluxe Room Plus" by any stretch of the imagination. 3. Food (breakfast and dinner) was distinctly average. 4. Service (the pool attendants apart) was casual at times, particularly in the restaurant. 5. Drinks and food are extremely expensive, even accounting for weak sterling. Overall the hotel has no shortage of visitors and weddings (3 during our 6 night stay), but appears complacent. Definitely not a 5 star experience and we would not return.

Hotel is in a beautiful old villa overlooking the yacht marina.Rooms were very comfortable and large by usual standards.

I had a relatively expensive room however on arrival I was immediately pushed to upgrade to a more expensive room until I flatly said no. Bad start. Chose the hotel for the pool and tennis court but both were dirty and unusable. Everything in hotel costs extra and food and drinks have very high markups. Shuttle into center of Palermo doesnt run very often so is inconvenient. Walk into town is through a port area.

The location is beautiful. Too far out of Palermo to walk to the city but the hotel shuttle bus was a great asset and we made full use of it. The room was lovely and spacious and the bathroom was beautiful. Breakfast was amzing and you could have anything you wanted. The staff were all extremely helpful and nothing was too much trouble.Lovely swimming pool, a great place for a relaxing luxury break.

Expect to pay lots for food and drink not included in your room rate. Very expensive. We remedied this by using two very nice restaurants at the end of the road and the ice cream parlour there sold a range of food and drink.

Design! Food! Champagne! Strawberry pistachio cake! Staff! Sting!)))

Just question! Why the maids came every day to us with the question: "all ok"? But two delicious candy - it's great!))))

nice hotel, nice people in the frontdesk area, but service in the restaurant and bar disastrous!!!

A beautiful place to stay, at a wonderful Villa. Excelent staff. Surelly w'ill recomend.

Beau bâtiment (intérieur et extérieur). Joli jardin. Propreté. Bonne literie

Trop éloigné du centre ville et système de navettes inadapté (cadence insuffisante, lieu de dépose éloigné du centre touristique). Salle de sport ridicule. Au bord d'une route donc bruyant pour les chambres situées du mauvais côté. Cet hôtel ne peut être recommandé que si 2 conditions sont remplies: 1) votre séjour ne vise pas essentiellement à visiter Palerme (car l'hôtel est trop éloigné du centre) mais plutôt à vous reposer ET 2) vous êtes prêt à payer le prix d'une chambre avec vue sur mer (car les chambres standards situées côté route sont bruyantes)

Petit déjeuner fantastique (copieux et très bon). Diner très agréable et bon avec piano. Jardin très agréable mais avec un peu trop de monde... Personnel accueillant et parlant français. Présence d'une navette pour aller dans le centre. Très pratique.

Un peu vieillot et chambre bruyante car donnant sur la rue très passante.

Prachtig ,comfortabel hotel.Vriendelijk efficiënt personeel. Mooie tuin.

Restaurant niet goed wel erg duur,evenals zwembad restaurant. WIFI duur en zeer beperkt.

Prachtig gelegen hotel met zicht op de baai en de jachthaven van Palermo. Mooie faciliteiten, prachtig zwembad met zicht over de baai. Neem zeker een kamer met zeezicht. Uitstekend restaurant, in de zomer op terras met zicht op de baai. Prima bediening, vriendelijk en behulpzaam personeel aan de receptie. Gratis parking op hoteldomein.

Wifi zou wel gratis mogen zijn in deze prijscategorie.

Mala atencion a las solicitudes. No funcionó nada del servicio despertador. Nos cobraron el IVA de la habitacion, cuando ya estaba cobrado al hacer la reserva, y así consta en el contrato con Booking. No recomendaría este hotel a nadie.
