Grand Hotel Villa Igiea  

Location. There are luxury few hotels in or near Palermo with a pool which was one of our requirements. The location for Palermo is good, but it is necessary to use the (free) hotel shuttle bus in and out of the city which has limited space and is not particularly frequent. Otherwise, as it is too far to walk, taxis need to be used which charge between 15 and 20 Euros for a one way trip. Driving a hire car in Palermo is not to be recommended.

1. Hotel is shabby in some areas. There were a number of, admittedly brief, power cuts and the internet in the business centre was out of action for two days. 2. Our room was not up to standard in that a couple of light switches were loose, the balcony was untidy and only swept clean on request and the anti mosquito plug needed recharging. It was also too small to be described as "King Deluxe Room Plus" by any stretch of the imagination. 3. Food (breakfast and dinner) was distinctly average. 4. Service (the pool attendants apart) was casual at times, particularly in the restaurant. 5. Drinks and food are extremely expensive, even accounting for weak sterling. Overall the hotel has no shortage of visitors and weddings (3 during our 6 night stay), but appears complacent. Definitely not a 5 star experience and we would not return.

We have family in Palermo and we always stay at the Villa Igiea and have done for over 6 years now. The staff are so polite and helpful and always friendly. We have organized our wedding plans at the Villa Igiea for August 2012 and the management and staff have given us 1 st class service . The food is of high standard but the menu is limited in the low season. If you are taking a holiday to relax and distress this is one of the nicest Hotels to stay at and enjoy .

A beautiful place to stay, at a wonderful Villa. Excelent staff. Surelly w'ill recomend.

Hôtel was Heel aangenaam,het personeel was bijzonder sympathiek ,de kamers waren goed verzorgd ,ontbijt was heel lekker, en de ligging was uitstekend een aanrader

останавливались в отеле в течение 2 ночей в мае во время путешествия по сицилии.выбрали отель за его месторасположение и остались довольны: красивый старый отель с небольшим парком, бассейном, видом на марину. отель расположен не в центре, очень спокойно. мы путешествовали на машине, которую сдали после осмотра достопримечательностей палермо и затем добирались на такси.парковка в отеле свободная. у нас был просторный номер с огромной террасой с видом на парк и море.ресторан в отеле достойный: хороший завтрак, приличная кухня с хорошим обслуживанием, цены высокие, но этого следовало ожидать в этом отеле.
