NH Villa San Mauro enjoys a panoramic location, a 5 minute drive from the center of Caltagirone and offers friendly service and great facilities, including an outdoor swimming pool. Almost all of Villa San Mauro's spacious and elegantly furnished rooms come with their own panoramic balconies. All have a TV with satellite and pay-per-view channels. The first 30 minutes of Wi-Fi connection in the hotel's public areas are free of charge. Relax on the sun terrace or go for a refreshing swim in Villa San Mauro's pool. The hotel grounds are home to a lounge bar, perfect for pre-dinner cocktails. You can also enjoy your breakfast outside. Downstairs there is another bar, an internet point and a newspaper stand. De kamer was uitstekend - niet te warm dus goed om te slapen - en de badkamer was netjes en zeer goed uitgerust. Het uitzicht vanuit de kamer was onverbeterlijk. De keuken was een dikke tegenvaller : mijn voorgerecht - insalata caprese - moest ik precies nog zelf klaarmaken : tomaat wel in schijfjes maar de mozzarella in zijn geheel in het midden, zonder olijfolie of basilicum. De hoofdschotel - steak ai funghi - was nog erger : steak en funghi meer gekookt dan gebakken en bijgeserveerde boontjes (gestoomd) koud en zonder smaak. Zelfs het vaatwerk, waarvan je minstens verwacht dat het van de streek is (Caltagirone is een keramiekcentrum), was fake want "made in Germany". Eten dus om in leven te blijven, maar meer ook niet.

Ottimo Hotel, bella piscina sempre pulita, colazione abbondante. Parcheggio piccolo sempre pieno di auto della polizia e finanza, mancaza del pranzo.

Das Hotel ist für eine Städtereise gut geeignet. Das Empfangspersonal war sehr freundlich. Die Zimmer und das Bad waren ordentlich und sauber. Beim Frühstück wurde kein Aufschnitt und Käse nachgelegt. Auch auf mehrfache Anfrage weigerte sich das Personal strickt mit dem Argument, es sei nichts mehr da. Die Klimaanlage im Zimmer funktionierte nicht.

Für eine Städte-Kurzreise ist das Hotel durchaus zu empfehlen. Allerdings ist es etwas außerhalb in der Neustadt, so dass man auf ein Auto angewiesen ist. Das Frühstücksbuffet war eine reine Katastrophe. Um 08:00 Uhr gab es schon keinen Aufschnitt und keinen Käse mehr. Das Personal war nicht bereit etwas nachzulegen.
