Offering panoramic views of the Bay of Naples, the Grand Hotel Vesuvio features a semi-Olympic pool with a large terrace.
Score from 524 reviews Very good
Spectacular view of Bay of Naples. Swimming pool and sundeck is beautiful and bar is classy. Very clean. Great sweeping view from our balcony. All at reasonable cost vs other properties in the area.
Shuttle bus schedule ended too early and you needed to walk or take an exorbitant taxi home or walk (which was a hike and then a long hill)
Hotel is located on a hill overlooking the ocean. Swimming pool is a great size and has plenty of deck chairs. Rooms were clean and staff upgraded us as they had availability.
Hotel is not close to anything and not walking distance. However there is a free shuttle service offered by the hotel to the city centre and metro station.
The views The helpful stuff The cleanliness The Food The Pool
People putting towels on their sunbeds to reserve them even though it quite clearly states in the Hotel Rules not to!!
The view and pool
Food, beds, level of noise
Views from terrace
Hotel decor very dated not excellent value for money, no evening entertainment, could do with more English TV channels as in bad weather nothing to do if you cannot sit by the pool. Room that we had paid a premium for was not available on first night due to double booking so could not completely unpack very frustrating!!!
The staff were lovely. The views were spectacular. The pool area was great with again, great views and excellent service and the lunchtime snacks were delicious.
The evening meal was average. The room terraces were a bit stark.
Awesome views, good sized balcony. Two great staff members; the guy that helps with suitcases is a legend and so is the bus driver- shuttle bus that takes you 5 mins up the road (back and forth many times throughout the day) to main area of town. Great pool area with nice views. Can use electric roller shutters on windows, good to sleep in rather than being woken up really early in the morning. Good compared to the rest of the accomodation in this area that we looked at. Couldn't find much else for a reasonable price.
Old bathroom in our room on level 1. Friends room had nicer, updated bathroom on level 4 however much smaller room for same cost. Old towels. Poo skid in toilet on arrival. 2 single beds pushed together like most places we stayed at in Europe rather than what was requested (a double or queen bed). Hall ways of hotel looked like an old out of date nursing home. Walls and ceilings not sound proof at all. Was woken up several times by noises in hotel. Terrible wifi basically unable to use. Needed to use wifi when out for lunch at another restaurant in town to check emails and make plans for the rest of our holiday, as it would continuously drop out or not work at all when at this hotel.
View over bay of Napoli was excellent
Shuttle service could be more consistent
Beautiful hotel and the staff with excellent, so friendly, the cleanest place we have every stayed, excellent value for money.
The views, the location, the staff, the rooms & the food were all excellent & well priced. Last visited 5 yrs ago, now so much better. Book A Sea View - its worth it. (Room 122 & 302)
A English Thing!! - No Tea/Coffee making facility in room.
All of the hotel's views were fantastic. The staff and food were also fabulous.
Equipment in the fitness center.
Views from the hotel were stunning. Shuttle bus into Sorrento.
There was only one lift which was too small. More like a three star hotel than four star.
The pool area and view were truly the only good part about this hotel. Also, Viviana at the front desk is extremely helpful and pleasant but not many other staff members were nice at all
In our room, the ac didn't work the entire time and when we asked someone at the desk to take a look, he tried to fix it for about 5 minutes and then did nothing else to fix it the entire trip. He didn't call anyone or try to do anything, I was astounded. Also, our shower leaked to the point that it flooded the whole bathroom and even went Out the door to our room. Also, things were certainly nowhere near as clean as they should've been for a four star resort, we had spiders and centipedes in our room and dust everywhere. I'm not even sure if the sheets were changed before we checked in... It was really uncomfortable and gross. Also, the staff was extremely rude to us the first night, and I'm not sure if it was because we are American or what but it was unacceptable and uncalled for. We were very pleasant and excited to be there and we were treated terribly for no reason.
The staff were excellent, from the driver to the guys in the restaurant. The view from the room was very good.
The fitness room needs updating. The room was a basic considering it was €280 per night. At that price I'd expect to be picked up at the station.
Staff very helpful..meals were excellent and well priced. The shuttle bus gave great access to the city and frequent. Definitely pay the extra and get an ocean view. We were in 401 which has a magnificent balcony with panoramic views.
Driving the car up to the hotel, but hotel excellent
