Score from 234 reviews Wonderful
In Polignano a Mare, Covo dei Saraceni is on a panoramic cliff-top location above a pebble beach. This 4-star hotel features a traditional restaurant and air-conditioned rooms and suites.

The village where it's located
When we arrived and sent the information before, about the 70th birthday of my mother they put us in a small room beside the hotel. When I complained then we have got a room in the hotel wich looks absolutely not so nice as it was on the pictures. I decided to book this hotel because of the nice restaurant. It absolutely does not contains to the hotel as it was on booking.com website, you can enter it when you make a reservation before. The restaurant is very expensive, has a fantastic view and atmosphere with very bad service and nothing special food.
Location View from the room
Terrible customer service in the restuarant, terrible food for 90 eur per person.
Good place with a great view and location , but about the price it is too expensive for this kind of quality "0" ! It doesn't worth it at all , it may be good just for a cup of coffee , because the food was too too too bad !
The summer cave restaurant should be visited while staying in the hotel, it's an amazing place to dine.
Location was amazing straight out of a fairy tale. Get the room with a balcony with sea view. Worth the upgrade.
No elevators for luggage.
Fabulous location in a lovely town Good wifi connection Excellent range of toiletries Friendly staff
Slightly faded furnishings
Lovely room with spectacular views over looking the Adriatic Sea and looking over the fantastic grotto restaurant. The room is simple but nice, with everything you need. It also has a good bathroom with plenty of hot water and good water pressure (sometimes it's the little things). The restaurant leaves you speechless. From the moment you walk in to the moment you leave you can't help but feel you have been a part of something very special. The food was great but then again it could have been beans on toast and I think we would have been happy - the place is that spectacular. Not only do I recommend this beautiful place but I recommend that everybody should add this place to their bucket list because if you don't make it you've missed out on a treat!
Location and service
Aged rooms, poor breakfast
Vista mozzafiato sul mare
Struttura un pò datata
Staff were rude from the minute we arrived, room was tiny, decor was dated to say the least, chipped tiles in the bathroom, chipped shower tray, the 'amazing' restaurant was closed. We had planned a 4 night stay but just about managed one. The area was awful, couldn't find a decent restaurant and when we eventually did settle it was vile and very over priced. We did not feel comfortable in the area and when we left the police had closed the streets which confirmed our feelings of not being safe. Such a shame as the hotel could be amazing. Do not book this hotel!!!!!
The staff were helpful, spoke English well, accommodated our needs, made parking effortless in these narrow tricky streets, the view out of the window was all sea. Whilst the famous grotto restaurant was booked out, the kind staff managed to find us a late dinner spot and we were treated wonderfully by all at the restaurant. Hmmm, I feel like I'm writing their advert! But we were really pleased, and Polignano a Mare is a delight
The room could have been a little more luxurious for the price, but as I mentioned the location and every other facet well and truly cancelled that out
Loved the location, the restaurant was everything we hoped for and more ... not just another pretty location, the food was 5 star! We stay in a room over looking the sea and slept with the window open to fresh salt air. You cannot get closer to the sea than this. The management parked our car for us and were extremely accommodating, the hotel is really special and I would stay there again ... maybe just to have the same dining experience, but don't miss walking through this village and visiting the cove, this is a hidden treasure!
The restaurant is 5 star, the hotel is 4.5 star, only because it is older and not really updated, but it was clean and had wonderful charm.
This hotel is well located and the shower was very good.
Mattress was extremely soft and led to back ache (we are in our 30s so not a common problem!). Certain members of staff were bordering on rude.
The hotel is a lovely surprise. The view is spectacular. The cave restaurant is wonderful. The room was a good size as was the bathroom.
If you leave the window open, the door will slam shut. It scared the heck out of me.
The view from the room is stunning and the breakfast was good. The hotel is situated very nicely in the city centre.
The staff weren't nice (almost rude) and the room was OK.
The sea view from our room.
The image of an attractive, bright room that was displayed on the website was very misleading. To our horror we arrived to find a run down and neglected building with a musty scent as we climbed the stairs to the reception area. We were ignored by the receptionist for several minutes as he read through a page in front of him. He seemed irritated by our presence and after 10 minutes we were abruptly shown to our room without any information about check out times, breakfast etc. The decor in the room was shabby, what you may expect from a budget nursing home that hasn't been decorated since the 70's. The staff were rude, inattentive and pretentious. I witnessed couples being turned away from the massively overpriced restaurant as they had ' inappropriate' footwear or trousers on. The restaurant remained empty throughout our stay as people walked out due to their 3 course minimum policy and €10 service charge. We checked out at 11 am and left our luggage in reception for a few hours. When we returned to collect it, I approached the same man that we had dealt with during our 2 day stay to notify him that we were taking our bags and he asked me if I wanted a room for the night. He pays such little attention to his customers that he fails to recognise them after a matter of hours of checking out.
Loved everything! The beach, Fly is a must as is the bicycle tour of the local olive grove.
Waiting for checks after a meal.
Location in Centro Storico
Hotel hasn't been renovated since decades
Amazing scenery! Absolutely beautiful area.
A beautiful location ....a little bit expensive
If you want to eat at restaurant of the hotel you have to reserve before few days / weeks
The location is perfect. We had dinner in the Restaurant in the Grotta and it was amazing! Breathtaking views. The staff was very attentive! Our Sea View room had fantastic views .
we were going home :(
Everything was perfect! Thankyou so much for a vacation of a lifetime! The locals that were the staff were welcoming and helpful. The view is like no other! Polignano with Love is just around the corner and Dominisio and other staff have perfect suggestions tailored to your needs! Again thankyou!
You cannot sit in bar or restaurant just to have a glass of wine despite staying at the hotel. You have to have dinner reservations which we do one night. This should be open to guests at all times. Latte and breakfast were excellent as well!
lack of internet, shabbiness of hotel
Decor and location
Loved the cave restaurant.
