Location is terrible. The bathroom needs an update
The hotel is walking distance from Termini and just behind Vittorio Emaneulle metro station. The metro takes you every in just about 15-20 minutes to popular spots like Plaza Spagna, Trevi Fountain and is a half-an-hour ride to Vatican. There are a lot of good eating joints and bars at walking distance from the hotel. The breakfast was really great and availed the airport pick-up facility for 55 euros which was very convenient.
The location was a bit shady for my liking. Also in spite on getting confirmation from booking.com about a twin-room had to spend the first night in a double bedroom which was inconvenient.
Breakfast. location ok close to underground transportation(tube)
needs to be remodeled. carpet nasty in room. very old carpet. ac is controlled by hotel and only gets down to 75F / 25C.
The hotel staff were extremely helpful while checking in explaining all the facilities, tours and the best spots to visit. My thanks to Marco who recommended the tours we needed to take and also made the needed reservations in advance.
The location of the hotel was not that great though very near to the Terminii station. The neighborhood looked a little run down and dodgy but that did not hamper our visit. Though venturing out late at night was not advisable.
Attentive staff on reception and in the bar and restaurant. The breakfast was good value.
Room was small especially the bathroom was cramped and there was mould in the shower. The streets and even the small park near the hotel had graffiti and were dirty so that we did not want to eat at places within 300 metres of the hotel. It was not easy to get around but that is the nature of Rome rather than the location of the hotel!
close to Termini station
dangerous neighbourhood at night
room is satisfaction.
Hotel location is not good.
Helpful staff! Nice rooms.
Classic look of an old world hotel, renovated with modern amenities.
The room was tiny and there were lots of noises coming from the hallway, other doors slamming, etc.
3rd time stay at this hotel. like the location(once you get used to the area) Can walk to most sites. Great breakfasts, Bar staff excellent.
As i said, 3rd stay, but will be the last. After heavy rain fall, room was cold and no heating to dry anything. Asked at reception for some kind of method to warm the room, was told no heating and no air conditioning available??? What hotel treats customers like that??? Basic stuff, being warm!!! So much noise outside. Market opposite the hotel starts loading/unloading at 5 in the morning. No sleep possible. Be warned, do not accept 1st floor rooms overlooking street entrance if you like sleeping. Couldn't get a room change as fully booked. Will be looking for different hotel next time.
Friendly staff and very clean.
Very hard to spot an Italian in this area.
Location was good as it was close to the central rail station and easy to get about the city from this region. However, this end of this street is rough, hence a "fair" rating on location. Price was better than others around, hence booking this hotel.
Homeless people in the street outside. Very dirty street (bins and trash not in bins!) Reception/bar area was very small and dark. Restaurant was clean but basic. Tinned fruit for breakfast. Room was small and old fashioned (if you open the wardrobe door, you have to climb over the bed! Curtains dirty and hanging on flimsy plastic rail. Shower door was off its rails but they did fix it when reported. I guess it's good place to sleep for a short visit to see Rome.
the bar area was very comfortable. Front of house staff very helpful. Food and drink good value for money.Buildings around Area outside hotel had graffitti all over them. In Ireland this appearance comes across as grotty to us but seems to be the norm in Rome.
bedroom very small.
Staff were friendly and hotel was good size with tidy rooms and enough facilities. For the price paid in Rome it is ideal.
Location a bit dark and secluded at night.
When we arrived @ the hotel the receptionist on check in told us that we booked an economy room and that it was very small room. (he made us feel bad & we did not pay a cheap price for the room).Although the room was small it was ok but we had no window, no air and it was very hot which we couldn`t even breath. The area outside the hotel looks disgusting and in the evening its frightining to walk alone. I wouldn`t go back to this hotel.
The hotel is very good and the people are so kind.
It's near Termini, is not a beautiful neighbourg
very close to the metro station
walking distance from train station
breakfast was below expectation
The location is near the Roma Termini train station and close to one of the metro station.
The quality of breakfast is below my expectation.
Good restaurants nearby, very easy walk from station, helpful staff, nice comfortable room
Rich breakfast, very tasty. Great staff. Very clean. Good price. Very close to Termini Station and Metro.
The location is very scary. There are a lot strange people around. A homeless man was sleeping right next to the hotel. The wi-fi internet is not working very good at higher floors, costed me 40 euros in roaming, because of WI-FI drop while Facetime. While in the morning the breakfast was excellent, in the evening we waited one hour for the worst pizza ever. Overall, I recommend it for it's fair price, staff and its strategic position.
I was very happy with the Ambra Palace Hotel. The location is excellent. My son and I walked everywhere. We never took a cab, train, or bus and we saw everything - St Peter's, the Colosseum, the Spanish Steps, Trevi Fountain, all the various piazzas, and what seems like a thousand churches and statues. Wow. The free breakfast at the hotel is awesome. Loved it. The Wi-Fi is excellent. The rooms are clean. The bathroom is big. Plenty of closet space. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The room and hotel simply feel nice and comfortable and welcoming. Just a few blocks - a quick walk - from the train station. Overall, I'm very happy I picked this hotel. I'd definitely go back.
The area immediately around the hotel kind of seems like it might be a little bit sketchy but we didn't have any problems and we were in and out of there at all hours. The bed is a bit hard and small for American standards but it was fine. More electrical outlets would be nice. There were only two in the bedroom - which is not quite enough for the number of mobile devices most of us are packing these days.
Durty area Extra payment for wide bed May have a better hotel for the same price Small shower
Size of bed
The front is very kind. They helped me what I need.
Some area is under construction. That makes noise. Thet should finish that as soon as possible.
