I have never stayed at a worse place. The shower would burn then freeze. Beds uncomforable. Called to explain I would be late because we had to report my wallet stolen and then we got lost but they still charged us extra for arriving late. Asked to check out on friday instead of Sunday because my wallet was stolen and had to return home to take care of the missing items they refused. The people above were very loud because the ceiling/ floor is so thin. It was listed as a bed and breakfast but it was not. They left croissants and muffins that looked stale. The place was in a building with other businesses and apartments. I've stayed at a hostel that was nicer. They said they could speak english but not very well at all. I would never go back or recommend this place.
it is just clean ,
park place is not available in the hotel and it is not 4 euro as on the information page but there is free park place in front of the road ,people can park there if there is any place .otherwise private park place is on the corner you should pay for 15 euro a day. breakfast is horrible , only one croissant and only cup cake with a coffee . location is 13 min walk from vatikan , there is bus connection city but if you want to walk in rome you should consider that distance . no hair dryer at the first night but after we demand it next day they give us one . heating system doesnt work during the night .
Location was great, about 10 mins from Vatican
You have to call and wait for the owner to show up for check-in although there is a doorbell outside of the building, however, no one ever answers. The room, which is not shown on pictures, was a former kitchen with minimum space. Bed was a squeaky uncomfortable sofa. Bathroom was separate in the hallway next door and we had to lock it. Shower was moldy inside. No breakfast, no coffee although it should have been included, I complained to the owner but he simply ripped us off!
Price Location Helpful staff (by email)
Language difficulties with staff Disclosure that the check-in location was different to the actual venue was quite poor and we overlooked it.
We're supposed to have 'private bathroom'. It was still not related to the room at all, just locked and we had a key. The condition of the shower was more than awful - drain was full with dirt so water didn't go through. It was so small that even just one person inside couldn't bend to take the shower gel from the floor (as there was nowhere else to place it). Breakfast...where to start... One croissant (not even fresh) per person and one little sweet cake. That's not enough even for a 5 year old kid... Only cash payment...we needed to get 7 euro back, we never received it. Personnel couldn't speak a word of English, none of them.
Clean and spacious apartment, very comfy bed. Location was close to the Vatican and transport options. Manager was very friendly although he did not speak English.
The map location given on booking.com was incorrect it was actually much further up the street. You are not told that you must phone the apartment manager to meet you at the property as there is nobody there to let you in and no reception. quite difficult to find the property.
Wifi, close to the Vatican and restaurants
No reception, was in apartment block, sat outside waiting for 2 hours until staff showed up
They wanted to charge baggage deposit 5 € per bag for 6 hours on the last day...
We had the room with the kitchen (we could not use because there were no pots). We think earlier on it was the preparation room and then it was converted to another guest room. It was tiny. Breakfast was not served but was refilled by the house maid (very basic).
These are the positive things about San Peter City's 1 room apartment - Very close to Vatican 10mins walking distance - Super fast WLAN - Fruit shop is next door to get some water and fresh fruits - Kitchen is available, if you want to prepare your own food
- Personal didnt speak English. it was very hard to manage with them. - No hand shower available. Only the fixed shower on the wall. it was very inconvinient if you want to take bath or just to wash legs. - They didnt change the towels for 5 days. - Breakfast is 1 croissant and 1 cup cake per person with some biscuits.
Location is nt bad but away from city center. Actually it is not a hotel it is apartment. .
One of the biggest problem no 24 hours desk and staff don't know English. ..
There are quite a few things that I liked: 1.) The room is really big/spacious and quite clean. 2.) They gave a a room good for 4 people although we book a room good only for 2. (Maybe as a compensation because we got lost as they gave us a different check-in address and B&B address. Anyhow, it was great!) 3.) The location of the building is just 5-10 minutes away from the Vatican. You don't have to worry on staying so late because it is really near. 4. Quite a lot of restaurants around. Since they dont have a kitchen/restaurant in the building itself, you can just go out and pick a restaurant without worrying on how to go back because most are quite near the place. 5.) They have a coffee machine inside the room. Super! 6.) They driver and the "translator" are quite nice and smiley although it was difficult for us to understand them. Even if we are already complaining and a bit angry they are still smiling and telling us where to find what. (We can only understand the name of the places.)
Unfortunately there are a lot of things I think they need to improve: 1.) They should hire atleast one person who knows english. Someone who doesn't only understands english, but can also converse in english. I think this is the root of all the unfortunate things that happened to us. I know my english is not perfect but it was really a horrible experience for us because nobody from their staff understood us when we were there! 2.) I am not sure who is at fault; Booking.com or the B&B staff, but we were given 2 addresses. One is for checking in and the other is the location of the B&B. Accdg to the booking information: -check-in office : Via Monte Del Gallo 6, Vaticano -B&B with double room: Via Gregorio VII, 221 Apparently the B&B is at Via Germanico 54, Vatican City. I still have the booking confirmation so we have the proof! We walked around the area near Monte Del Gallo for more than 2 hours looking for the office. We were trying to phone them but nobody was answering. Accdg. to the agent from Booking.com they couldn't reach them as well. We became the enemy of the Building at Monte Del Gallo because we were trying to ring all rooms. We were desperate! There is no information as to which floor or what room the office is. We went to Via Gregorio, and saw a room with St Peter's Angel on the door, we thought this is the B&B and tried knocking but nobody opened for us. The translator who picked us up at Monte Del Gallo when finally Booking.com was able to reach them, told us (if we understood it correctly) that the room at Via Gregorio was the office....But what about the address at Via Monte Del Gallo???? They couldn't understand us when we were asking, until now it is a puzzle for us! In the end, our 1st day in Rome was a mess. We wasted hours of our time because of them instead of touring Rome!! 3.) Booking.com told us that accdg. to the staff of the B&B, we sent an email cancelling our reservation.
The staff were friendly. The location is very close to the bus stops. The sweet Italian breakfast was good and fresh and tasty. The beds were comfortable. The room was very nice and clean. I liked the place so much as it looked recently refurbished. It is generally very neat and clean.
The two members of staff did not speak English but Italian. On our arrival date, one staff member used her Ipad using Google translate to communicate with me. We also communicated via sign language. Nonetheless, we somehow managed to communicate.
