“ We stayed for 3 nights from Dec. 12th to the 15th. Driving to the Hotel is an adventure as is any driving in Rome. However, once at the hotel, the staff and in particular Alexandra was extremely helpful about the hotel and the area. Up front, most things are extra. ”

The staff, facilities, room, views, location, proximity to Imago Restaurant where one must dine as a bucket list item. Not applicable--nothing to dislike.

I loved the location of the hotel, the friendliness and helpfulness of the staff, the décor of the hotel and the room, which was very clean.Great stay. I will return. I didn't really like breakfast at all. It was included in our room, but it really wasn't very good. And another small thing: the hair blow dryer was not up to par. Otherwise: top marks !

Everything is to like - a fantastic room with balcony overlooking the Spanish Steps (one of only two balconies in the hotel); excellent, helpful, unintrusive staff; quiet, understated elegance throughout; breakfast included in our rate - and a delicious breakfast it is; the barman makes a very good martini; it's a huge, really comfortable bed; the bathroom is fin de siecle, marble everywhere and magnificent. Cigar smoke creeping under the divider from the presidential suite next door - amazingly there is no "no smoking" policy in the hotel; internet at €20/24hrs - it's nasty and cheap (of them). But you can put up with this for all the rest and if you do have a problem, they will do everything to solve it, even at midnight.

We stayed for 3 nights from Dec. 12th to the 15th. Driving to the Hotel is an adventure as is any driving in Rome. However, once at the hotel, the staff and in particular Alexandra was extremely helpful about the hotel and the area. Up front, most things are extra. Parking was 45€/day and internet was 15€/day. That is just the way that it is. While I would have loved to have had it rolled into the room price (especially the internet), leaving it out allows one to opt in or out. I liked having the choice. Oh, I had no trouble with the internet. Our room 222 was in the back and was beautiful and quiet. The bathroom was spacious. My only small complaint is that the king size bed was actually 2 twins together. While they did a great job to minimize the seam, I was still able to find it. The cotton sheets were of a high thread count and with the down comforter was luxurious. The complimentary water was nice. We ordered up ice each night. We did have the breakfast which cost ~40€. It was wonderful to have each day. A great selection of sweets and juices. I especially enjoyed the fresh carrot and orange juices. There was a selection of prosciuttos and smoked fish (salmon, tuna, & swordfish). The eggs were a little runny for my taste and the bacon was a bit greasy. I did enjoy the sausage, pancakes, and french toast. Service was impeccable. We sat down and almost instantly got perfect cappuccinos. This was a fantastic way to start off the day. It allowed us to forge past lunch and beat the crowds. The location at the top of the Spanish Steps allowed us to walk to great restaurants and the sites from the Colosseum and Palatine Hill to Vatican City. Best of all, we were right above the main shopping area. Lastly, the doorman helped me pay for my car the night before and allowed us to leave with plenty of time to get to the airport in the morning. Their directions were flawless. Service was all around fantastic. Everything was fabulous. You get what you pay for.

Friendliness of staff and view from hotel Air condition and heating did not seem to work properly. For the night, my wife was looking for an extra blanket or would have preferred a down blanket.

The location, specially if one wants to stroll through the main parts of touristic Rome, is excellent. Hotel perfect, but this was expected from a house with such a reputation. We enjoyed of course to be upgraded from Deluxe Room to Standard Suite with a perfect view over the town and San Pietro, and from the other windows over gardens to the Borghese Park.

Hassler was great. The beds are super comfy. The linens are so soft and fluffy. Same for towels - big and fluffy. Room was great. Service was great. Loved it. Will stay again!! The breakfast is extremely expensive (about 36 euro per person and up and not for the top offering). I knew before we stayed there, and the location is so good within a 5 minute walk there are many places to eat, but if I had anything negative to say, I would think they might consider a slightly more reasonable breakfast option. Yes it's expensive anyhow, but something about a $50 breakfast of juice, bread, muffins and coffee will just never sit right with me!
