I always love the Hassler
Upon arrival, we were upgraded to a wonderful room with gorgeous interiors. Every member of staff knew and referred to us by our names (and we were only there for one night) and the breakfast we had on the seventh floor terrace on Sunday morning with the bells of Rome's churches sounding off was something that the staff facilitated for us (at no cost) and will long live in my memory. All in all - this was the best hospitality we have experienced and the hotel, its staff and wonderful location were central to that experience.
That we had to leave after only one evening
We adored staying at the Hassler Villa Medici. Location is second to none and the the hotel exudes quality and luxury in every way, yet is so welcoming and not at all intimidating. We felt like guests in a beautiful and intimate home rather than a hotel. Arriving on Christmas Day, we immediately were made to feel most welcome by every staff member we had contact with - all the staff were very warm, friendly, personal, efficient and incredibly helpful! We had an elegant and spacious room, complete with walk-in robe, super comfortable bed and extra cushions. We loved the attention to detail - everything from the bed cover and linen to bathrobes, plush slippers and towels were of superb quality and beautifully monogrammed/branded. Bathroom toiletries were beautiful and very generously sized. The terrace on the 7th floor has panoramic views of Rome 'to die for' and food/beverage service is available there to make watching the sun set over the city all the more magical! Salon Eva is also beautifully intimate for a quiet drink whilst enjoying the sounds of the piano or harp or for a delicious meal. Our stay over Christmas was made all the more heavenly with the generosity of the hotel director and staff who organised a gorgeous personalised Christmas card and beautiful gifts to welcome us on arrival - so unexpected and such an incredibly warm gesture at this time of year. This place is a dream!
Nothing! We could not fault our stay here and are so looking forward to returning!
Excellent Hotel. Fantastic service.
Visitors must try Imago restaurant - a once in a lifetime experience
for porridge and coffee for one person end tea only for another we were charged for two full breakfasts
facilities/helpful polite enthusiastic staff restaurant/tea room/bar/with great piano Bathroom - good shower Room quiet/comfortable - nice little luggage room excellent TV location - my favorite
lack of top sheet on bed - quilt too hot(should have asked for one but too happy to bother)
location, friendly staff, comfort & service
our stay started with a fabulous welcome by the staff, nothing was too much trouble and we were treated very well. The room was lovely and our holiday was very special. We would certainly return and would recommend to anyone!
Superb service, the best view in the whole world (5th floor bar), fantastic location, really cool bar
For that kind of money throw in some breakfast!
the room location toilet amazing
too expensive for what it is
A beautiful hotel, wonderful staff, convenient and a wonderful place to stay.
The welcoming experience from the front door to checkin and then during my stay was exceptional. The location is excellent and the greta shops and piazzas all within walking distance. It is also well serviced by cabs. Highly recommended.
The location is superb and all else about the hotel is great. Imagio is wonderful and Eva Salon also when we could find it.
We had a very silly mix up about the Eva Salon--being told it did not exist. The next morning, voila, there it was. kind of like Brigadoon. That was stupid.
The staff was friendly and helpful. The food outstanding!
+ 2d to none location +I will strongly recommend the hotel to my grandma and her contemporaries + Perfect for demographics, affluent and over 65 + Good nicely renovated room but...bathroom let down +breathtaking view from 7th floor but...
- dated decor, like an old grand dame clutching to bygone design - No value for money € 850 / nightly for a Superior room. Nicely renovated room but bathroom letdown, not renovated and small. in an overall average hotel experience - €850 nightly and no swimming pool!? - Unutilized and unexploited breathtaking view from 7th floor terrace with no bar or drinks...what a waste... - overall experience relies on forgone fame, decor and era...no effort is made to leverage the extraordinary location, view. -this hotel is in desperate need of new management. -I would not recommend this hotel to anyone less than 60 years old.
The staff were extraordinary--elegant, friendly, and very, very competent. They also have sly senses of humor. We will stay no place else in Rome.
Loved the location at the top of the spanish steps, the staff were fabulous ... and the restaurant on the roof top, was probably the best restaurant I have ever eaten in. 9 delicious courses, served to perfection. We will definitely be back
I think the bathroom and the room in general could have been a bit bigger for the price we paid, and a shower as well as a bath would have been great for the two of us ( I lke a bath, my hsband prefers a shower) - but having said that, there was a bottle of Prosecco waiting for us in the room which was beautifully styled ... and VERY comfortable.
The Spanish Steps location was great as was the hotel staff. Our room size was in the middle of the three we stayed in, in Italy. The hotel breakfast was very good.
Our courtyard view was dismal in comparison to the Grand Canal and the Arno River views we had in Venice and Florence. The sofa in our room must have been a sleeper, you could not sit on it. Paying for wi fi was a gouge on a $1,000 room. Noise of the service elevator directly across from our room.
The room was newly decorated and was very lavish. It was done very tastefully. The room was full size and the pillows were unbelieveablely perfect. We loved our stay. The location of the hotel was very central to everything. The concierge was very helpful finding restaurants to eat at.
Location and view of Roma from the terrace. No pets.
Private function being held in the restaurant had loud music being played from approximately 1630hrs until 2400hrs. No consideration for quests at the Hotel.
The hotel is situated at the top of the Spanish steps so is very central. The staff are very friendly and although the room was expensive, it was worth the money.
Location, walking distance to the main attractions in Rome. Close to the shopping area and good restaurants.
A bit crowded, lots of tourists in the area.
Not being notified of renovation work in adjoining room during my stay
The location of the hotel at the head of the Spanish Steps is unrivalled in Rome with views fro mthe terrace on the 7th floor at sunset the best place of all to be ! The room service was incredible both in terms of the staff and the cuisine on offer. You are also a few steps away from the exclusive shopping area and a few minutes walk from the Trevi fountain - a MUST stay at least once in your life !
Some of the nearby restaurant's are a little "touristy" and you will be better served walking for a few minutes away from the Spanish steps to get the real roman fare.
