Great sun terrace with sea view
Everything is first class. The brothers who own and run Henry's House are perfectionists and no detail is not attended to.
Wished I could have stayed longer!
Location was great,Ortigia is a great place to visit. This family owned establishment is all about comfort. Genuine people who really care about making to stay enjoyable. Great place, beautiful terrace overlooking the water.
Having to leave.
Owners and staff very friendly and helpful.they went out of their way to ensure we had a great holiday.Hotel has wonderful collection of owner's antiques and is very comfortable. Fabulous view from terrace and free snacks provided.
Enthusiastic, friendly and helpful staff at this family-run hotel. Exceptional location, right on the water, with sweeping views and gorgeous sunsets. Terrific breakfast. Walk or take the electric bus to the archeological sites and museums. Great dining options close by. Do not miss this culturally rich and beautiful part of Sicily.
Very good breakfast, friendly staff, stunning view from the terrace, nice design.
A little bit pricey.
The breakfast on the terrace overlooking the sea. The staff always happy to help. The location, walking distance to so many nice restaurants.
The location and the helpful staff.
The so-called junior suite (room 208) was nothing of the sort. The bed/sitting area was by pacing no more than 5 x 3 metres. There was only a small and shallow wardrobe, presumably bought from a local op shop along with most of the other furniture as part of the "shabby chic" look that is apparently part of the hotel's "character". There were no drawers for storing clothes. The only table or desk was a small (90 cm dia) round table, covered with kitschy odds and ends. The next door bathroom protruded right into our room, and the soundproofing was poor, with obvious consequences. The art work was in my subjective view appalling, although I acknowledge that others may think otherwise. The breakfast room and terrace were equipped with rickety old outdoor tables and chairs, one of which collapsed under a guest during our stay. The bathroom had a shower in the bath, with a totally inadequate screen which allowed the tiled floor to become very wet and slippery. I could go on, but in our view the place is not a 4* establishment and is not good value for money.
The owners and staff are fantastic. The breakfast on the terrace was lovely and the limoncello and proseco delicious. The house itself exudes charm and authenticity and if you are lucky enough to get a room with ocean views you will see amazing sunsets.
The owner's charming, welcoming and efficient young sons, Alberto and Francesco. Nothing was too much trouble. We loved the space and comfort in our room101 - a triple room. The decor of the hotel is sooo interesting - eclectic and amazing. The buffet breakfast prepared by Elena, the boys mother, was delicious, including both savoury and sweet. We ate breakfast on the terrace overlooking the water and had pre-dinner drinks there with lovely nibbles. The location of the hotel in the heart of the old town in Ortigia is superb. We would have loved to have stayed longer but had committed bookings elsewhere. We would certainly stay there again and would recommend it to our friends without hesitation. The story behind the name of the hotel is very interesting. Basically, it is a memorial to the owner's long term friend Henry who died 10 years ago.
We cannot think of a single negative !
Very helpful staff. the family worked together to make this hotel special
ourspecial our room wash facing a noisy street
It is impossible to mention everything that made our stay at Henry's so 'special'.The love, attention, time and care that has been lavished on this hotel was obvious the moment we arrived.Francesco and Alberto could not have made us feel more welcome or 'at home'.The breakfast eaten on a beautiful terrace covered in vines overlooking the sea was exceptional.Wherever you go you will discover interesting artifacts, furniture, places (inside and out) to sit and enjoy the spectacular views.Wi Fi signal great.Everywhere is immaculately clean and all the staff so friendly and helpful. It's location could not be bettered.A unique and never to be forgotten hotel. As you will have gathered we loved our stay here and recommend it unreservedly. If we ever returned to Syracuse we would not hesitate to return. Thank you so much,Joyce and Robert.
There is absolutely NOTHING we did not like or wish to improve upon.
The staff were very friendly and extremely helpful - and even found us a parking spot. The rooms were decorated in an idiosyncratic mix of antiques which all seemed to have a history. And the floor tiles - gorgeous! The rooms were comfortable and all very individual. And the evening drinks on the terrace watching the sunset over the water, and breakfast as it rose - what more could you want?
Nothing, only that we had only one night!
I had an excellent stay! Staff very friendly and helpful.

All very good; door lock was quirky
Filled with antiques and featuring many terraces overlooking the bay, this hotel exceeded our expectations. The owner and his two sons are charming and helpful; they speak perfect English and gave us great suggestions for everything from restaurants to tours. We loved drinks on the terrace in the evening under the 200 year-old grapevine, and delicious breakfasts in the morning.
The owners and sons were incredibly helpful -recommended some great restaurants, helped with parking the car and gave us great insight into the local history and attractions
Nothing to dislike
Staff was superb: friendly, helpful, knowledgable. Room a delight, with view. Terrace charming, breakfast out of this world with homemade specialities. AAA+ all the way!
Ortigia is picture perfect in every sense. This hotel has got to be the icing on its cake. The palazzo has been sympathetically restored so while rooms are very comfortable they are very much in the style of the old houses of the the town. Alberto and Francesco the two young brothers who run the hotel are warm, open, yet courteous and very professional in their service and attention to detail. Breakfast was plentiful, unusually for Italy, and served on the terrace overlooking the pretty bay.The receptionist, Stefania, went out of her way to make our stay happy, even coming to translate for us when our hire car was damaged by a reversing driver. We cannot recommend this hotel highly enough.
Parking is difficult due to the tiny streets but hotel staff are always willing to facilitate guest parking as best they can...and always with a smile.
Stunning terrace over the harbor Evening drinks on the terrace Beautiful room Lovely staff Wonferul location
Beds a bit hard
The island of Orttigia is farytale and the recently opened family run Henry's House has the perfect position on the waters edge. Rooms are all individual and obviously decorated with love - the family who run this adorable place welcome you as returning friends. We had no problem parking for free roadside a few metres from the entrance. The impressive breakfast feast which includes homemade savory and sweet pastrys is laid out buffet style and carried for you on a tray to a pretty outdoor terrace shaded by grapevines with gorgeous views across the bay. You can also sit here during the day or enjoy pre dinner drinks before a short walk to numerous restaurants. Good wi-fi connection. Would love to come back.
Great central location BUT Rooms and ensuite are tiny. The photos are very deceiving.
The lication is very central and it makes it easy to see the city, the rooms have a certain charm
Firstly the parking is potentially problemetic depending in how lucky you are , the hotel gives you a permit to park near by in otherwise marked zones but when i arrived those spots were all taken and the staff advised me to look further without really explaining how difficult it is to drive in the city or how to come back to the hotel without troubles .. It was a rigorous experience and i consider myself well accustomed to italy having lived there 4 years . The wifi didnt work . The welcome drink on the terrace at 7 was an odd experience , we came back at 7:20 and when asked about it the owner seemed surprised , offered a non alcoholic beverage but didnt really seem too involved , then we went to the terrace and it was full and all the pepole there had wine glasses, not the worst experience , just odd.
everything was just perfect!
Everything was so wonderful: the family who owns the hotel is very warm, the rooms cosy, the hotel was extraordinary well renovated with its nice "relax corners", beautiful views at the bay and breakfast was lovely
parking and to get there, but worthwhile to walk a bit further to the hotel with its super location
