This small hotel is situated almost next to the Ponte Vecchio and although my friend and I didn't arrive till almost 10pm, receeption was very welcoming and helpful. I can't recommend it highly enough to anyone who just wants a small hotel at the centre of things. The beautiful roof terrace was a lovely place for breakfast or a drink among the rooftops of Florence
Location, 3 minute walk to Uffizi gallery, windows to the quiet street
Great location. The hotel felt very safe. The hotel had a very pleasant overall feel. I would definitely come back and stay here again.
The wifi was a bit unreliable, probably because I was on one of the outermost rooms, because when I stood by the door in the hallway is when it would work the best. The toilet worked, but was very difficult to flush and although I made them aware of this, it did not get fixed during my stay.
The staff were extremely helpful and knowledgeable and the proximity to the Ponte Vecchio was a bonus. The Hermitage was recommended to us by a friend and it was our favourite hotel on our Italian tour.
Too many birds interrupting the breakfast on the roof terrace!
The location doesn't get better, Rooms are beautifully decorated and the bathroom is huge!
Wonderful situation, right on the Arno, and within walking distance of many of the major attractions. Wonderful roof terrace with stunning views, open for use at any time. The breakfast room and lounge were also beautiful, with great views. The staff were friendly and helpful, the breakfasts excellent and the rooms comfortable, tastefully decorated, quiet and clean. I can't imagine finding a better place to stay!
Friendly and helpfull staff Very good location
Low comfort of sleep Very poor breakfast Very high prices Smell inside the room The elevator - small and slow
The good service and friendliness of the staff.
The location was ideal in the fact that we could walk to everything in Florence. Breakfast was very good and the staff was attentive and helpful. We had a great experience here and would certainly recommend it to other travelers.
The paint over this shower was cracking. That said, the shower was fantastic!
The young female receptionist was exceptionally helpful. Always friendly and cheerful going out of her way to recommend and book restaurants for us and print off train timetables. The rest of the staff were courteous and very efficient.
Terrible bathroom and service attitude! We stay in this hotel for 2 nights, it is not a cheap one but it is not worthy for the price. In the first night, there is no hot water in the bath room and in the second night, it is the same. We asking for help and one guy just walk in and tried for a long time, still no hot water. When he wants to just go away and say nothing. I asked him will he come back again, he said he will off duty at 11:00.it is quiet ridiculers, so I contact receptionist, they told me we can use a public bathroom, I said no, then they bring another room’s key to us, the not water in the second bathroom flew for 5 minutes, then…COLD! We have to contact the receptionist again, they even complain us “Why don’t complain yesterday?” It seems that it is us should be blamed! I told her:”Because we are tolerant.”So they do nothing for us, I have to take cold bath for 2 night, well, I mean every night when we stay in this hotel. The bonus show was happened in the morning we leave. The receptionist denied everything in front of my face. This lady Jolanda, told me she has been working for this hotel for 23 years, this kind of problem never happened……Well, I do not care about the long history and the bad situation for the water system, you can call it antique, you can lying and denying but the fact is fact the problem is problem, all I need is a hot water bath. I think this is basic service a hotel should provide to their guest, if you can not provide that, at lease a “sorry” is necessary, maybe, I asked too much to this OLD hotel. Made a mistake or even have a broken-down hot water system is not a disaster, but lying is! By the way, the roof garden is lovely, but it is not worth for the whole price we paid.
The staff were all very friendly and helpful. Above and beyond. They remembered who I was, what language I spoke, and even to check when they printed out stuff for me that didn't make sense.
I would've liked more choice for breakfast
The staff were all very helpful and friendly. The breakfast is excellent
At times becomes quite noisy if you left your window open
The hotel feels more like a B&B than a big city hotel in that the common rooms are cozy and inviting and the roof top terrace adds an extra dimension. The bathroom in our room was very spacious with lots of room to put toilet articles. The sleeping area, though a touch small, was more than adequate. The hotel staff are all very helpful and accommodating. We were very pleased with our stay at the Hotel Hermitage.
Truly cannot think of anything that I didn't like!
Location, Friendliness of Staff, Roof top, breakfast,
Would have liked a chair in the room versus a stool.
It felt so homey and the rooftop terrace was beautiful. The front desk staff were so helpful and accommodating. This hotel is a diamond in the rough.
A little cramped in areas.
The location, upstairs lounge room and outside deck were great
Our room was not adequately cleaned. This was a big problem for us.
Location was perfect. Easy walking distance to everything we wanted to see. The breakfast in the dining room was a great way to kick off the day. The bus from SMN train station picks up and delivers right in front of the hotel!
The bed was too hard. I was not able to post any pictures of my trip.the Wi-Fi was not GOOD.
LOCATION WAS THE BEST, ON THE PONTE VECCHIO! The hotel is very clean, well managed, friendly, "can do" attitude for everything, great beds & shower/baths. Terrific breakfast and amazingly beautiful roof-top for breakfast, cocktails or to read/write.
location, charming and staff are very pleasant and kind.
noise from the club next door
Charming hotel close to the cultural sites. Lovely roof terrace for breakfast or coffe. Nice and caring staff.
The location was perfect - right on the Ponte Vecchio. Also, the rooftop terrace was great! Definitely the best feature of the hotel.
Unfortunately, the room itself was pretty disappointing. The bed was extremely firm and uncomfortable, with very few pillows and blankets. The walls were paper thin - one night we even heard the neighbor snoring. We were up every day at the crack of dawn because it was so loud outside. A lot of money for a generally unpleasant hotel.
