“We chose to stay at Hotel Hesperia because of the location. We wanted to be near the train station so we didn't have to drag our luggage too far in the dark as Venice streets can be very confusing.”

The staff was very nice and accommodating. The view of the canal is great and we hardly ever closed the window. The room was neat and clean and the breakfast is very good. The hotel is a couple minutes walk from a busy tourist area where you can shop or take a vaporetto to wherever you need to go while being off the beaten track enough to avoid the noise and foot traffic around the hotel itself. Overall, I will probably stay here on my next trip to Venice. The walls were a bit thin and you could hear other guests talking. We had a room with a private external bathroom and the bathroom was big enough, but the shower was very small. Even though the bathroom was external, there was a sink in the room, so you were able to brush your teeth or fix make-up in the room, which was very nice. I wasn't very comfortable with having to leave our key at the front desk, but it wasn't really a problem.

The location, close to Santa Lucia train station...can't beat it as the first vaporatto stop is in front of the station. The directions provided by the staff by email were right on spot and were very helpful to find the place in dark ( remember google or city maps may not work that well in Venus). The young guy, who checked us in was a delight...happy, helpful and full of energy. The owner was so helpful with her tips about the places and what trips to take. The room with a private bathroom with beautiful decoration and light fixures was a deal in Venus. We didn't want to pay extra for the canal view but didn''t miss much. The breakfast was good and breakfast room is very refreshing with the art work. We will love to stay in this hotel again. Thanks!

The staff were both very friendly and extremely helpful. They provided useful information to get around the city and also places of interest other than the normal tourist sites. Location wise, it was central yet off the main tourist roads. It is two minutes walk from a bustling shopping area and the Jewish quater and with the Guglie stop right on the door step it was very easy to navigate around the city and to the islands. It is also a 5 minute walk to the main bus/train station. I would definitely stay here again and recommend it to friends and family. If anything, the decor could be updated in the main areas but really, the room itself was lovely - split on two levels with exposed beams and a nice view of the canal. We had booked a standard room but on arrival we had the option to upgrade for an extra €10. We were allowed to view the rooms before making a decision. Also the room was spotless and maintained that way through out our stay. The breakfast was also decent and included in the price.

Hotel Hesperia is a small family business. Very friendly and easy going personel is ready to satisfy all your needs. Rooms are very clean decorated in the Venecian style (Murano glass chandelier and mirrors) Delicious breakfast is served with fruits, yougurt and good coffee. You can eat to your satisfaction .The hotel is on the Cannaregio canal close to the railway station, and this hotel is easy to find.To the San Marko piazza take a vaporeto from Ferrovia slow #1 or fast #2 (25 min with a great site-seeing). After walking crowdy streets in the turist center, we appreciated the quiet hotel site situated near by local pubs, where we could taste a real Venecian cousin and talk to the locals. The personal gives you a helpful sugestion where to go. The hotel is next to the historic Jewish ghetto. For close by a gondola ride tour, call Luka cell.:3405116063. He is a great chap and give you a good price for a guide and singing on his round tour which leads through the maze of small canals to the main canal and back.(we got 45 min. Ride for 80 Euro ) For great services, romantic rooms and a practical location, we higly recommend this hotel. Suggestion: From San Marco airport take "Alilaguna" boat to "Guglie" . The hotel is on the other side of the canal. Just cross the bridge and walk along the canal (5 min). This is a wonderful way to come to Venice. Some people dislike some odore in the hallway. Remember, this is a very old building located in the over thousand years old decaying city. But rooms are odorless, --as Venecian canals. Also, do not expect elevators in the old Venecian building . Pact light.

It was relatively close to the city sights but in a quieter neighborhood. We felt like we got to see how Venetians live! Our room had a canal view with several kid-friendly restaurants within a 5 minute walk. The staff were lovely to us (especially our 9 year old boy!) and helped us out a lot planning our vaporetti route. Perfecto! There was a slight sulfur smell in the hallway on the second floor. I think this has something to do with the canals. There was no smell in our room or in the restaurant. The breakfast was small (classic continental) but good and sufficient for what we needed.

The most competitive price in Venice for such level of the hotel. Breakfat is included. 10 minutes walk from the main parking and bus station at Pizzale Roma. Vaporetto station right on the opposite side of the canal and 3 minutes walk to one of the Grand Canal station for Vaporetto. The possibility to by Vaporetto tickets at the reception Stone floor and no carpeets on it. Poor blanket for non frigostabile people. Dusty blinds.

We chose to stay at Hotel Hesperia because of the location. We wanted to be near the train station so we didn't have to drag our luggage too far in the dark as Venice streets can be very confusing. The staff were very friendly & recommended places for us to eat at & visit. We were really happy with our room & would recommend this hotel to our friends and family. Its not too far to walk anywhere in Venice so you can easily walk to San Marco & the Rialto Bridge from the Hotel or take the ferry which is also close by.

The staff at Hotel Hesperia were extra helpful. They made me feel at home and went out of their way to make sure I was comfortable. I do not speak Italian and we had no problem communicating. I would stay there again without doubt. The only minor difficulty was that the wifi was not strong enough to reach the second floor without dropping the connection. It was fine when I went downstairs to the lobby.

The outside space to have breakfast. Having fresh fruit. Being able to leave bags. Helpfullness of staff. Our room over looked the canal and unfortunataly on Saturday mornings they come by in boats to collect the rubbish. If it had not been this day a veiw of the canal would have been lovely.

The receptionist was realy helpfull and friendly. She helped us out of her own to find information about our Embassy when we lost our passports. Our canal view room was large and very clean. We enjoyed our stay there. It is close to the station and close to the vaporetto pick up points. Breakfast was also adequite.

Breakfast is small but good. The location is a short walk from the station. The staff are friendly. The TV has a lot of channels. The AC worked ok but not excellent. This place is in serious need of an upgrade. The walls are paper thin so you hear what everyone is saying and doing. There is an awful smell coming from the bathroom. Everything is quite old. There is no elevator and they charge for Wi-Fi. Our bathroom was private but down the hall.
