beds were comfortable driver to airport was prompt (6 am), nice, and helpful
We stayed in the Trastevere Apartments - Via del Francesco de Sales. Arriving in Rome three hours early, they made no effort to help us get into the apartment or drop our bags anywhere. We had to uncomfortably wait in the closest café, which was three and a half cobblestoned blocks away. That was just the beginning, though, of a very sub-par experience. The overall location is very good, but this apartment is down a street that essentially dead-ends, so there's only one way in and out, rather than being able to travel out in all directions. The neighborhood is relatively quiet, though. Dirty diaper strewn in the street in front of the apartment with other trash to welcome us. Mildew so bad in the bathroom and washing machine that the apartment reeked. Asked for it to be cleaned and it took two days for them to fulfill the request. Barely any useful cooking equipment - seriously, the two pans were so thin that they visibly warped when the heat was on them! We have camping pots that are sturdier! No dish soap! No sponges! One small dish towel. Fork with tines poking in all directions, no corkscrew, etc. After we complained, they came a day later with a new pan, dish soap, sponge, cutlery, but it felt so cheap to have to ask for basic apartment stuff. I'm so glad I never have to see that bathroom for the rest of my life. Toilet mounted so close to the shower that you can't sit straight ahead, but you have to sit with your legs diagonally out into the small room. Plus, toilet seat was broken so that as you made your awkward descent toward the throne, it flew off and your ass was hitting dirty porcelain. Then there's the pervasive mildew and stench. Just disgusting. Very disappointed in this place, especially after staying in the comparatively sumptuous Redentore di Venezia in Venice.
Friendly staff brought map and restaurant recommendations. Good Wifi. In the heart of historic Trastevere, bars and restaurants to pick and choose. Very clean apartment.
Trastevere is simply an amazing place to spend your Roman holidays. Dozens of great restaurants, 20-30% cheaper than in the center + great service, lots of tourists but tasteful and pleasant, not the mixed mob you can find swarming along the monuments and shopping streets. Super laid back, open until late night, lots of students, the streets around Rome As You Feel Apartments are a delight. A special mention to Fish Market restaurant (10 minutes from the apartment, along the Tevere, towards Piazza Venezia) - great value for money, great service, simple yet hip, no reservations, very busy at dinner but totally worth the waiting. The apartment - I liked the renovation very much, its style and functionality. It's on a quiet street 5 min from the restaurants, the only noise source are other tourists, living on the same street, and scooters parking around but nothing annoying. The host was very nice and I also recommend the limo service they provide - only 50 Euro from Fiumicino, totally worth it when in groups of at least 3 but also for couples, because a train ticket is 15 Euro and it takes you only to Termini, from where you need to get a taxi anyway (it's going to be around 15-20 Euro) or a bus (no tube station in Trastevere).
Please be aware that there is a bit of walking to do to the Roman ruins and the Renaissance squares (at least 20 minutes, rather fast paced, to Navona, for example), so I would advise elderly couples to be cautious when choosing Trastevere as a base camp.
location in Trastevere-close to lovely restaurants, well-equipped apartment, friendly helpful staff, lovely bakery at the end of the street,
apartment street level and had early morning (6 a.m.) traffic noise from neigbour.motor-bikes+ cars leaving to work. That woke us up every morning, but otherwise peaceful spot, close to everything.
Paola who met us was very helpful. She gave us useful information. She arranged a transfer back to the airport which worked fine and the driver was very pleasant and helpful. The location of the apartment was good. The equipment in the kitchen was fair but it lacked an ironing board and wine opener!
The apartment was in a frightful mess from the previous tenants. It was not ready for us when we checked in and still not cleaned when we arrived back later in the day. We waited there while the cleaners did their job and it was fine after they had finished but disappointing not to arrive to a clean place. Other than that we enjoyed the stay.
We loved the location and really loved the Trastevere neighborhood (Malva apartment). The apartment was very spacious, clean and had pretty much everything we needed. The AC worked well and the bathroom was large. We felt safe at night. We enjoyed opening up the windows and listening/watching the nightlife below. This is not a quiet area, so be aware of that but it did not bother us. Only one flight of stairs. I thought it was an excellent value! We would stay again!
The bed was very hard and could have used some extra pillows. The area is loud until around 2am, just be aware. (we hooked my iphone up on a white noise app to cover the bar sounds between 12-2am) Overall, neither of these things mattered since we would stay again!
Great location, friendly staff and comfortable beds
the toilet is an inch away from the shower making it impossible to sit straight, and to step out of the shower one must step over the toilet - a completely unsafe situation. in addition, the sockets are not standard European ones. I had to search around for a socket that actually fit the supplied hairdryer and when i did it wasn't anywhere near a mirror. also, there is quite a bit of noise from the upstairs flat. one bedroom is fine; the other is not.
Location is perfect, appartment is clean and spacious
some stuff was broken, like toilet seat and musquito-curtain
Location-away from the busy city but still easy to access everywhere on foot or by public transport. Good link to airport. Great restaurants and mini markets.
Great restaurants near by, friendly corner shop and newly decorated inside
Outside and area not the best, run down and dirty, but then most of Rome is.. A bit of a walk to town, but taxis cheap and handy.
The location is good in the Trastevere area. Restaurants were plentiful and good. Walking into Rome and the main sites is very possible. Quiet and safe area.
Shower was odd. Sitting furniture was not comfortable.
Central to many sights, public transport etc. Room was comfortable host was friendly.
Wasnt told that the toilet seat was broken and one of the bedroom door jams was also broken. The door was difficult to lock.
The location was really great. Trastevere is the place to go out in the evening and have dinnner so it was very convenient to be in walking distance. The place was hip and had everything we needed. It looked even better than in the pictures.
Wifi reception was really bad and we were disconnected more than we were connected. The place was clean (bathroom, kitchen, towels etc.) except of the floor - walking barefood was impossible. Although there was a vacuum cleaner in the place, there was no mob to clean the floor so we had to live with it... A problem could be the noise on the street for those who wake up easily - we could hear party crowds returning home at 4 a.m. like they were inside the bedroom.
The apartment was clean and well-located. Nicely furnished.
The building was very noisy, with people coming and going until 2 in the morning. Outside door constantly left open. Fine if you are a party animal, but for a family, not ideal.
August 2014: Compact, clean quiet apartment, Great bed, good pullout sofabed, clean linen, lots of towels, air conditioning, just perfect for a short stay. Got advice from Paola on places to eat, transport, shopping etc. All in all very satisfied, would stay again.
cutlery was a little poor (bread knife!)..! previous guest left a note saying they had left coffee - but none to be seen! anyway coffee just 90c in neighbouring cafe!
Very nice place in Riari 60 in Trastevere. Beautiful apartment, comfortable, and big for 3 people. Inside you could find everything you needed for a comfortable stay. The place was convinient and very romantic
They had removed the door from the toilet, so there was not privacy and there was an automatic light that turned on when someone was moving near the toilet which was very annoying for the others that where sleeping. The worst of all was that we had agreed with the agent called Paola to leave our lugguge at the agency the last day as our flight was in the afternoon and we had to check out at 11.00. We walked almost 1 klm with the lugguge just to find in the agency another agent who talled us that the agency was closed and we couldn't leave our lugguge there. Paola didn't answer her phone and the emergency phone number they gave as was shut down. This was very very annoying. They ruined our last day.
Everything was perfect - highly recommend! Great location for all the sites - between 20/30 mins walking to each site. but also just far enough out of the hustle & bustle to enjoy some peace & quiet & a good nights sleep. There's some really great little authentic Italian restaurants in the Trastevere area aswell - not filled with tourists which is what you want! Great staff too, Francesco was very helpful.
There was nothing we didn't like!
Nice spacious apartment at a great location in Trastevere - in my opinion the nicest area to stay in Rome. The apartment is surrounded by many nice bars and small restaurants. It is a great apartment for couples staying in Rome for a few days. Although there is no subway station nearby there is taxi stand just around the corner - taxis are not expensive in Rome and you can access all interesting locations for less than 10 euro per ride. There was a problem with the airco that was fixed the next day.
The bathtub and shower were not too clean, especially the whirlpool blowers in the tub. Also the shower was a little outdated and didn't feel very clean. We requested additional towels. Beware that checkout time is 10am and checking-in at night will cost you an additional 30 euro. Stay in close contact with the staff on your arrival time to guarantee a smooth process.
The location was quite ok. Room enough for 2 adults and 1 older child. Appearance was not inviting, however the unit itself was ok. Airconditioning worked well both in bedroom and main room. Locals were very helpful when we were locked out.
The front door was hard to open. No blinds/curtains in main room where folding bed was. No instructions for the washing machine. Shower went hot and cold all the time.
Perfect location very close to everything. The appartment is very nice and spacious. Well furnished and good kitchen and bathroom. Would definately live there again.
The bed was somewhat hard. It can get a bit noisy outside due to restaurants with outdoor service. For me this was not a problem, my girlfriend used ear plugs ;-)
Perfect location in Trastevere, on a charming place, very nice bars and restaurants around, and close to the very center of Roma
Old style building, location, comfortable
1. Hot water dissapeared for 2 days of our staying ( I used to call some phones from agency, but didn't received answer). 2. Under WC water flushed continuously, not too much but still... 3. Washing machine didn't work, or maybe we don't know how to use it.
Fantastic location and lovely light, clean apartment.
The apartment was on a beautiful and quiet street, close to the central area of Trastevere with plenty of cafes and restaurants. The decor was original, the apartment was very clean
