Recepcionists were helpful and gave useful information One of the recepcionist was Turkish
The staff was super attentive really took the initiative to make your stay pleasant. One of the guys really kindly warmed up some pasta from the dinner (served a few nights a week) when I got in at 1 am. The next night they had free bruschetta for the aperitif. The information provided was good too.... learned about the free museum sunday through them!
There weren't really any quiet hours, which was a little annoying as my room was right next to the bar, but I guess that kind of comes with the hostel territory.
Lively hostel with lots of fun guests. It was very easy to meet people, the staff was friendly and knowledgeable. Breakfast consisted of 3 types cereals, nutella, peanut butter, bread, yogurt, and a variety of fruit. Dishes were clean and cleaned by staff- a nice surprise.
Common area was very well used.
- Staffs there are all wonderful! Very Friendly and helpful. - Breakfast is basic but fair enough: cereal, milk, yorgurt, toast, fruit, coffee, tea and juice - Location is ok and safe, easy to access to everywhere. I felt safe to walk outside the area after the sunset. Of course one needs to be extra careful when travelling alone, especially, a single lady at night time, but basically I did not encounter any unpleasant things during my stay in Napoli =) - Toilets are clean, hot water runs perfectly.
I stay 2 nights at dorm room 10, bed 3. and I got more than 15 bed bug bites. Totally not acceptable. The girl who was in my room got bug bites, too. But she was lucky, only got few of them. This hostel is nice but be aware of the bug bites. without this problem, I will definately stay with them again. =(
We LOVED the breakfast... nutella and all. We have been travelling for 3 months and stayed in more hostels to even keep track of.. this is on the higher end of hostels... The kitchen was a bit grimy and the cooking pots and pans (ESPECIALLY THE PANS) need to be replaced...
I hate to say this but this is the first place where we have come across bedbugs! One of us slept in our own silk sleeping sheet and did not get any bites... the other one of us slept in the sheets that the hostel provided and had bites in a line up her arm and legs.... the bite went away after a few days and thankfully we never took and bugs with us but the hostel should use extra hot water when washing........
The receptionist was very friendly and offer us a lot of information. Breakfast is great.
Unstable hot water
The hostel is bright and light, but the living room was right next to the room, and it is not so comfortable for us. And there are only 3 showers that for all the guests stay at the dorm.in the morning, you have to get fast to use toliets.otherwise it is a good hostel.
Great staff, far from dirty area (Central train station) and close to embankment and old town
It was only one night, don't remember
The staff is so nice! Plus lavish breakfast!
Everyone at Hostel of the Sun was ridiculously nice! My wife and I felt like family within minutes of walking in the door. We were only in Naples for one night, so Luca (at the front desk) gave us a great walking route to see the highlights of the city and end up at one of the best pizza joints in town. I can't speak highly enough of the staff here. They were generous, warm, inviting, helpful, and actually wanted to get to know us. Wonderful experience!
very friendly staff basic breakfast included with decent coffee chance to to laundry nice atmosphrere, able to meet/interact with other travellers
could hardly find the hostel due to tiny board outside the house - watch out
If you're traveling to Naples, look no further than Hostel of the Sun. It's one of the best hostels I've stayed in. The location is really great and the staff are super friendly. The bar is a nice place to meet new people, sit back and have some beers. I loved my stay at this hostel and a huge thank you to Bernard, Luka, Harriet, Midan Marroune, Marica and Clara!
Are you kidding??
City of Napoli
Beds are uncomfy, shaking and making noises when ever you or someone else is moving. Terrible sleep quality, for 19 euro!!!!! Do not order pizza from the hostel!!!! Worst pizza in Napoli, go every where to eat a decent pizza but the one connected with the hostel...
Very friendly staff, good location.
Location is great! The reception is excellent and warm, they provide a map and clear simple oral tour guide, so that we don't even have to spend any time on checking our own tour guide ;) Also, each day they hold some events, like free walking tour, it's a nice chance to meet some interesting people
A little bit hard to find it at the first time
The ambience is amazing, the common room is lively with music, nice seating, kitchen is always an advantage. Stayed at a twin sharing room and loved the amenities. Overall an amazing experience. Friendly staff as well :)
Receptionist was very kind and friendly and gave me a hot welcome! They helped us for planning the whole trip and gave lots of advice. Really enjoy the trip!
Wifi is very slow around my bedplace during the night, maybe it asks us to sleep early
Convenient location for the port.
Not very clean and wifi was poor. Staff provided misleading information.
The staff was pretty hilarious and nice and the various warning-/advice-signs are not only full of useful information but also entertaining ;) good place to meet fun people
That one of the house guitars was made for kids hands and the other had to weak strings for drunk hands (not mine, and I'll refuse to give up any knowledge to whom might be the stringkiller) :D
Super friendly and helpful staff, clean, good facilities
Private room beds were uncomfortable for me
Everyone was friendly and helpful. Other visitors were friendly and around my age (20s) and young, but there were a few older people that were staying there too. Wifi was decent enough to skype my parents. The tours through the hostel were AMAZING. And we got help from the front desk about where to go for pizza and where to visit. They also would help give info about public transportation to get places, such as pompeii and sorrento. Definitely would (will) visit again. Breakfast was included. They also offered dinner for 5 euros plus a drink. Also drinks were cheap (1.50 for a soda, 1 for water, 2 for beer).
One night we got dinner and the pasta had three different flavors of chili. I like spicy, but not that spicy. Everyone was having trouble eating it. Just ask if the dinner is supposed to be spicy.
Good facilities, good toilets and friendly staff. They also guided us for the city visit. Definitely recommended.
Good location and friendly staff
Not clean room and uncomfortable
People from the staff of the hotel are extremely kind and smart. Rooms are clean, and so are the toilets. Location is optimal, 10-15 mins walking from old town centre and piazza del plebiscito. Highly recommended!
Super great staff, even help to make your trip plan in Napoli. Wonderful walking tour, really helpful for knowing the city deeply.
